Rev had some time trying to find the bar. It took him a good bit of time of scoping out the city from the sky and looking at directories to find it. He was slightly confused, expecting the most famous bar named after the most famous pirate to be swarming with new upstarts that he could man his crew with. He expected pirates to be pouring out of the bar's entrance, covered in drink and curses from those within. What he found was a ghost town hole in the wall joint with naught but a few marines and a lonely looking bartender.
The most famous bar in town, not only are there no pirates here but there are marines? What is this world coming to?. Revenant dusted off a chair and pulled up a seat next to the marines who were having a drink.
"So, what's a fine pair of servicemen like yourselves doing in a place named after the pirate king?" The marines looked at Revenant with death in their eyes for disturbing their drink. They resumed their conversation. Revenant sighed and turned to the bartender in hopes he could answer his question.
"Tell me fine sir, what happened to such an exquisite place as to let these two bitches of the World Government in?" The bartender quickly turned around to stifle his laughter and to make sure he wasn't witness to anything he didn't want to be.
The marines stopped their talking and both stood up. They walked over to Revenant with guns in hand ready to bash his skull in.
"You care to say that again, b***h?" Revenant reached across the bar to grab a bottle of rum, just before the marines forced him back into his seat.
"You know, we're off duty at the moment, which means I'm gonna let that act of theft slide for now. You know what I'm also going to let slide? Your teeth - all the way across this bar floor." Revenant turned around slowly with bottle in hand
"Hold on now sirs, I believe you didn't hear me correctly" Revenant made his voice shaky and uneasy to give the appearance he was caving under pressure, while rubbing the bottle up and down in a nervous fashion.
"I said...I-I-you see what I said was-" all at once he became very serious
"-I said that if your face was the only pisser in town, I wouldn't even waste time trying to aim, you're so pathetic!" Revenant brought the bottle down hard on the head of one of the marines and gave the other a swift kick in the groin. Both fell to their knees but were up again in a few seconds. They pointed their guns at Revenant with a swear a piece. Revenant made the glass shards from the bottle gash both their fingers. The men dropped their guns and froze as the remaining shards closed in on their necks, drawing small drops of blood at multiple points.
"That's just too bad, one of the most expensive bottles that's gone through these hands in years, wouldn't you say barkeep?" The bartender remained silent as he washed out the glasses.
"Ah, I figured as much, so in order to make good on you boys' tab, you best pay up. Throw your wallets at my feet" The glass pressed in a little deeper as the men threw their wallets at Revenant. He first emptied all the money from the wallets onto the bar and began going through the contents inside.
"Oh my, that's a cute little girl you got there-" the marine started to make for the door but Revenant caused one of the shards to cut open his cheek and stayed put
"-ah-ah-ah!" Revenant goaded, waving his finger at the marine
"You can't leave yet! We've only just become friends!" He began going through the other's wallet, holding up a picture of a very attractive woman.
"Good god mate, look at her! You pulling something like this on a rookie's salary?" the marine nodded nervously.
"You must got something going for you if it ain't money, you definitely don't have looks on your side, must be a monster in the sack ey?" the marine said nothing, but continued to eye his captor nervously alongside his partner.
"Tell you what, to show you that I'm not a total monster-" Revenant grabbed about 1/4 of the small pile of berry notes on the bar
"-I'm going to dedicate this to your little girl" he stuffed the notes behind the picture of the little girl in the marine's wallet. He saw the marine give a half smile; more was going into his wallet than had come out to start with.
"Now, to make sure you boys don't go into debt, me and the barkeep here are going to put the rest to your tab, pay it off and then give you some extra for your next visit, savvy?" the marines nodded nervously.
"Good, now you boys run along and play before you get hurt"The marines reached for their guns on the ground, but not before Revenant gave their faces both a few new nicks each. They ran from the bar, arguing over money as they went. Revenant turned back to the barkeeper who also had death in his eyes as his met Rev's.
"What? Had to get them out of here so we could talk in private" the barkeeper slammed a glass down on the bar, just narrowly missing Revenant's fingers.
"Its damn pirates like you that made this place the way it is. Nobody wants to come here because hotshots like you come in with your freaky powers and wreck up the joint! You want to know why only marines come here now? It's because people like them are the only one's willing to stand up to cowards like you!" Revenant looked down at the pile of money he'd just mugged from those two men. He looked back the barkeeper, hoping he would answer his next question as well
"Well, if hotshots like me with my freaky powers aren't here, could you tell-" "Go to hell!!" The barkeeper interrupted. Revenant looked back at his pile of money. He pushed it all towards the barkeeper and said in a low tone
"I want all of this to go towards those guys tabs. I think I'm going to leave now" Revenant calmly stood up, walked to the bar's doors, walked through them, and then flew off.
