Getting out of the tower had been easy enough. There wasn't very many residing there that would actively get in the way of General Proto, even if he was clearly...not functioning at 100% capability. All it took was a snarl from the high-ranking bot and the rest scattered, leaving the path to his escape clear. He had taken efforts to conceal his identity, his gun and shield left behind in his room and cloak thrown over his uniform as usual. He wasn't going to need his weapons where he was going....at least he hoped not. Proto made sure to keep the hood up to hide his head, and his scarf tucked away since it was one of his more identifiable features.

Wily was sure to be pissed off. Proto hadn't been too...receptive to complete repairs. Something was wrong with his internal systems, but the idea that Wily would have to meddle around in there to fix anything was not something he could currently handle. There stood too much of a chance that he could wake up as someone completely different. ...Sooner or later he'd probably give in and let Wily finish repairs, but...

Not now.

At least he had let Wily reattach his arm. It wasn't quite functional yet and was currently suspended in a sling to keep it from flopping around uselessly. But, it was something.

The injured bot made his way towards the more fire ravaged parts of town. He had heard rumors (and by heard, it meant he had directly asked some people...pretending to just be concerned ) that his brother was out here somewhere. It had been quite some time since he had seen Rock, but....things had come up and he felt the need to be out here searching for him when he really should be resting. The trip was slow, and quite confusing. The glitches in his memory banks were causing more problems than he anticipated. Every so often memories would replace what was currently going on. One minute he'd be looking at a perfectly nice city street...and a moment later it'd go back to reality and reveal it for the hell it truly was.

That was getting so annoying.

Disorientated, he eventually stumbled across a small home. A citizen just down the way had mentioned spotting who he was looking for recently, and directed him here. Now hopefully he was home.

"...Brother?"
Proto shook his head, trying to clear the double vision he was currently dealing with and made his way towards the entrance to the home.

The little bot in question had been home - or what constituted as 'home' to him now.

He had left his father's home after previous issues that spawned over the original argument about the fate of the city. It wasn't that he was angered by the scientist, or his brother, he just . . . had a lot of things to think about, since the falling out with the citizens, and since then, he had decided to acclimatize himself and mingle with them, so he could get a feel of the pulse of this strange city.

Was he still their savior?

Not in the slightest bit - they had been willing to see through with the death of his brother at his hands, and he couldn't give it to them. As much as they did not see eye to eye, he was Proto's brother, and the bot had been right all along. He just didn't need someone else fogging his vision anymore. He cared for Proto, he cared for Dr. Light, but he wanted to be his own audio.

So he was here, since it was all he had currently, before the entranceway was taken up by a familiar face, and a whispered word. He had expected to see him sooner or later . . . but it was still a bit of a shock to see him just waltz to him.

"Proto." He stated, the answer short, but no impatience showed on his face. "A pleasure seeing you in my doorway. Welcome to . . . well. . ." he paused, looking around the little ricketty house. "I suppose I could call it a home." There was another pause, before he went to sigh, deflating a little.

"It is good to see you in good status . . Well," a pause. "Good enough." He finished, looking at the arm in the sling.

He was relieved to see his brother was in fact home. The last thing he wanted to do at this moment was continue on his search to find him -or- return back to the Tower. Getting here had been enough of an issue as it was. The elder bot looked a bit unsteady on his feet as he glanced around the small home.

"It is good to see you as well Rock, though I must say you look to be in much better condition than I am."
Proto lifted his good arm to rub his fingers up under his glasses. The flashes had stopped for the moment, since this wasn't a location he had any previous memories of to flash back to. Occasionally Rock himself looked a little different but that he could deal with.

"...You don't mind if I crash here for a bit do you? I can't really deal with Wily breathing down my neck about repairs."

Honestly he didn't look like he'd leave even if Rock -told- him to.

"I'm...even highly considering going to Father about them."
Light wasn't someone Proto had any interest in seeing ever since he was sent away to war. For him to willingly consider going back to the scientist, for repairs of all things. ...He must have been growing desperate.

"Mostly better condition. It's surprisingly what a little uprising will do to you." he admitted, giving his brother a small grin as he allowed him in to his humble abode - it wasn't much. Just a rickety old house that seemed more tall than wide, filled with an assortment of things that one would see in a rickety old house. There was a bit of sentimental value, and people around said it had the best view. Giving the request a thought, he looked around his little abode, before giving Proto a nod.

"As long as no one trails you home, I don't see any reason why I couldn't extend a hand for a bit. Though . . ." He trailed a little, giving his brother a super frowny face. "I'm none to pleased to hear that Wily is treating you like that. But, I really can't speak - I'm out on my own as a mercenary of a sort, so I guess to each their own." He figured, going to shrug and take to a stair well, his little living-room disappearing to his small walkway between the bedrooms.

"Father would be pleased to see you though. He speaks highly of you still. First son of Light." He admitted, chortling a bit as he went to open a door. "I can't promise much. Couple hammocks, a few pillows, some nick-knacks is all this bot has, currently." He finished.

Proto was quiet, allowing the other to talk and make his super frowny faces as he was led through the house. He was still getting his bearings, really, but once his head finally stopped it's spinning he felt he could hold a proper conversation with his little brother.

"No one has trailed me, I have been all over this City without a single person recognizing who I am...thankfully. As for Wily I assume it is his way of showing concern. He just won't take -no- for an answer when I am not comfortable with him repairing what needs to be repaired. He seems to forget I work for him because I choose to, not because I am forced into it."

He had always been about choices, and now that he was (mostly) free to make his own he made sure to remind Wily numerous times of this fact. Though he still usually did what he was told (eventually...), if only out of respect for the fact the scientist saved his life.

"I hope he speaks highly of -you- as well, you deserve his praises far more than I do."
Proto seemed hardly bothered by the lack of things in Rock's home. In fact, he was more than happy to take up a spot in the hammock and just shut his eyes for a bit.

"...The Citizens, have they been treating you well?"
He'd kick their asses if they weren't.
