It was a truly lovely day out on the savanna. The sun beat down warm and gentle while a light breeze kept things cool and fresh. Stryko stretched out, warming himself on the smooth stones next to a small but refreshing watering hole. It was an idyllic spot with a few trees to provide shade and plenty of large stones to relax on. It was almost perfect....all it lacked was company.
For a lovely spot, it was almost always deserted. Not having much to do, Stryko visited every few days in hopes to meet some company, perhaps make a friend. However, the few other creatures that he'd met were smaller animals, friendly but also wary of the lanky cheetah. He hadn't seen one of his own species in a long time. And that was a shame, for though Stryko was kind of quiet by nature, he was a social fellow and he wished for some friends and perhaps a family.
He did have at least one friend, a maned wolf named Sidd, who had been his traveling companion for a good while. However, Sidd had traveled on in search of a mate with a promise to return when his search was completed. His friend had encouraged him to do the same, but the lanky black and white male had little success meeting anyone, let alone a mate.
Stryko sighed and rolled over to warm his other side for awhile. At least it was a lovely day.

Was the 'girl next store'- but that was in fact the Princess of the neighboring pride. She usually she would be out with a guard, this time she had slipped passed her mother and gotten all the way out to the outskirts of their territory. Looking out in to the roguelands from almost, or what could have been the highest peak. Her ears fanned back with her slightly long mane dancing in the air. Her jewelry bouncing against her body.. with her sash almost ready to blow off of her..."It's so beautiful..." She said endearingly.. Up until a bird took her sash. "HEY!" She yelled out, although she wouldn't have mind giving the bird her sash if s/he had merely asked- but he took it right out from her neck!
"Wait!" Oh noes- the bird looked like it couldn't see!
Quickly she rushed down, almost clear out of the pride's territory and out. "Birdy! Look out!" Right before she said it- in nearly seconds... the bird rammed in to a tree... "Bird!" As she tried to scale down the rocks from the ledge and ended up tripped and rolling down until she hit a dark looking something... At least it was soft.. Sort of. "Owww...." Not. Graceful. At. All.
