Rolled a two: Rock field:Tremors ripple forth from center-field as the basic floor shifts to a rock and dirt field. Rock towers emerge forth from the ground to offer a place of escape or an advantageous attack position. The breeze from the stadium air conditioners stirs the loose sand on the field, creating a mini sandstorm that reduces visibility. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ROCK type attacks This field reduces FIRE type attacks by 25 HP

As Lyle headed into the stadium, he made a face. This was not a god stadium for his pokemon. But hopefully Shina's pokemon wouldn't be able to take advantage of it. He tossed out his pokeball to summon Tetania onto the field and waited for Shina to enter.

Shina entered the stadium, noting the rock field type. While Spinel would have loved it, Tetania was going to struggle. Still, it was good to be challenged. Shina tossed out Marigold.

Lyle made another face when Marigold was sent out. The field wouldn't impede her at all. Oh well, nothing to do but get too it. He quickly thought over Tetania's attacks, then called, "Use Extrasensory!"

The Quilava concentrated for a moment, sending a wave of energy at Marigold.

Marigold was pushed back by the attack. With a snarl, she blasted back with a somewhat translucent Shadow Ball.

Tetania staggered a bit as the Shadow Ball hit her. She wasn't injured, but she felt a bit shaky.

Lyle didn't like the look of that, so he called "Defense Curl!"

Tetania quickly curled up into a ball, bracing herself for any further attacks.

Shina shrugged. Apparently Lyle didn't feel like letting her soften Tetania up. "Try a damaging attack, Mari!" Shina called. Mari attacked the balled up fire pokemon with her own ball of shadows.

Another dark orb slammed into Tetania, and this one hurt. She uncurled enough to shake herself like a canine, trying to dissipate the pain.

"Go for another Extrasensory," Lyle told her.

She looked up at Marigold and narrower her eyes as she concentrated.

Hmmm. "Mari, try Hypnosis!" Shina suggested. Mari seemed to gather shadows around herself, letting them roll and flicker invitingly.

Tetania looked at the shadows for a moment, puzzled as to what they were doing. Before she could figure it out, she found her eyelids growing heavy. In a moment she was slumped on the ground, snoozing.

Ah, drat. "Tetania, Sleep Talk!" Lyle yelled.

His pokemon shifted in her sleep, then started muttering.

Tetania twitched one paw out until it was lying against the ground. With another twitch, she flicked a glob of dirt at Marigold.

Mari spluttered unhappily at the dirt. "Mari! Looks like your opponent is in dream land. Mmmm, how tasty. Dream Eater!" Marigold cackled, then smacked her lips and seemed to slurp at the air.

Tetania squirmed and kicked her feet as the Gengar ate her dreams. Then she started muttering again, more intently than before.

She soon curled into a tight ball, as if to protect herself from the assault.
