It was a beautiful dawn in the season of Greenleaf, the warmth already beginning to spread through the air promising to banish any lingering traces of the night chill. Light began to spread through the sky, so bright that it seemed to spill into the den that was Windclan's nursery. Overly sensitive to the change in light, Skykit began to stir from where she lay curled up against her mother's fur. Having had a nice dream, she gave a short little hum of a mew in happiness, her eyes still closed.
Blinking, she shifted to try and shield her eyes, to trick them into thinking it was still night; but this only served to wake her further. Yawning widely, she looked mournfully up at the trickle of light before burying her head into the fur of her mother's side. Being an older kit, she knew getting up was inevitable; but where she was was so nice...

Heathersong let out a soft purr of amusement. "Skykit, you can't sleep all day, dearest." She shifted a bit and bent her head down to draw her tongue over the kit's head, fixing the slightly ruffled white fur atop her head. "It's a pretty day out. Let's play." She gave the she-kit a gentle prod with sheathed claws and stood up. She arched her back and let out a yawn, stretching her muscles out briefly before she hooked a leaf with one of her claws. She bent down and looked over at Skykit, her brown eyes lighting up with a youthful playfulness. She tossed the leaf in an arch over to the white furred kit, waiting for her to jump up and catch the green toy. They'd had a harsh season, so few kits had been born, and even fewer had survived.

Still sleepy, Glimmerkit stayed in the den for a moment longer than her mother and sister. Blue eyes opened and she took in the sight of the cozy den, the form of Heathersong outlined by the rays of the first light, and her sister below her. The small, cream kit yawned a tiny squeek, and stretched out on the floor of the den, the spot still warm with the scent of her family. A flash of green movement had Glimmerkit on her paws in a moment. She crouched low to the ground, wiggled her hindquarters a bit, and then shot out from the den towards the leaf. With a mewl, she tumbled over her own paws, into the dirt, and towards Skykit.

Prodded at last into the waking world, Skykit shook her head to try and clear the last of sleep's fog before standing. There was a soft sensation that reached her ears, and they twitched; trying in vain to catch the source. Still too sleepy to think of her sister but curious about where she was going, she ambled out of the den... And right into a view of the rising sun. Unprepared for the brightness, she sneezed. Seeing her sister dart from the den, her goal seemingly the leaf that Mother was tossing about, Skykit glanced at the morning plaything mournfully. She could get it before her sister got up... But instead, she stepped over to the cream kit, nudging her with her muzzle in slight concern.

Glimmerkit frowned, tripped over her own paws, couldn't believe it! Oh well. She let out a tiny sneeze as the small uplifting of dust settled around her. Blue eyes glanced upwards at the form of her mother and then at the small, green leaf that had already floated to the ground. Glimmerkit focused her senses on the leaf, and was prepared to get back on her paws when she felt her sister approach and nudge her with her muzzle. "Goodmorning Sky!" Glimmerkit chimed to her sister, standing to rub against her and give her a lick. "I'm alwight," The cream cat nodded as well, then yawned. The sun was rising beautifully over the grassy WindClan territory, but Glimmerkit was still chasing the last bit of sleep out of her mind. The leaf had been exciting enough to get her body up, but her young mind was still yearning to go back to the den and dream on soft down and grass.
