Rolled a One: Ice field : The temperature of the stadium suddenly drops several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifts for the upcoming battle. The floor turns into extremely slick ice which makes maneuverability, even simply standing, difficult. Randomly placed crystal-like pillars reach skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks

Lenore walked into the icy stadium, thankful for her jacket. It wasn't as cold as Inhinx, but it was certainly pretty cold. Rifling around in her pocket, the girl retrieved Hell-Hoot's pokeball, and she sent the unhinged noctowl out into the field.
Hell-Hoot cackled maniacally as he flew around the stadium.

As Lyle trotted into the stadium, he shivered and rubbed his arms. A t-shirt and shorts were not warm enough for here right now. Too bad his only fire pokemon would be battling, and couldn't stay near him to warm him up. He tossed his pokeball onto the field to release his new Quilava.
Tetania landed on the field and immediately began to skid. As she got her feet steady, she flared her flames a bit to ward off the cold and looked around for her opponent.

Lyle looked up at Lenore's Noctowl and considered his options. This was his first time battling this pokemon, and he hadn't really explored any strategies with her yet. After a moment he decided to start simple and called, "Tetania, Rollout!"
Tetania curled into a ball and began rolling around the field, skidding slightly on the turns but nevertheless picking up speed as she went. After a few moments she ricocheted off one of the pillars and shot into the air towards Hell-hoot.

The quilava slammed into him, and Hell-Hoot flew up higher into the air, perching upon a pillar of ice.
Lenore pressed her sleeve-covered hands over her ears as she called out an attack. "Hell-Hoot, use Supersonic!"
The noctowl began to cackle, but before the sound had really begun to register upon anyone, it warped, slowing down, speeding up, all at the same time.

As Tetania landed, she was struck by the impossible sound. She sat up on her haunches to try and cover her ears, but it was no use; she swayed visibly and couldn't manage to get her paws to her head.
Lyle decided to go defensive and called, "Defense Curl!"
Tetania dropped back to all fours and tried to curl into a ball.

Hell-Hoot cackled madly as Lenore removed her hands from her ears. "Use Ominous Wind!" Gripping the pillar of ice with his talons, Hell-Hoot flapped his wings violently, sending a foul wind blowing throughout the stadium.

Tetania shivered as the wind buffeted her, the movement sending her paws sliding along the ice.
Lyle grabbed the brim of his hat to keep it from blowing away while shouting, "Try it again, Tetania!"
So she gave up trying to maintain her footing and tried curling into a ball again.

Lyle thought that things were not going well for Tetania when he saw her briefly become steady before going wobbily again. They needed a new tactic. "Tetania, Swagger!"
Tetania tried to look up and focus on Hell-hoot before swaying and pulling faces at the bird.

Tetania either ignored the wind or didn't notice it in her confusion. She just continued swaying and trying to catch Hell-hoot's attention.

Lenore considered her options as Hell-Hoot soared overhead. Deciding upon a strategy, she called out again. "Keep up the wind! Wear it down!"
Hell-Hoot flew around in a circle before sending another gust of pungent wind at the quilava.

Tetania's head cleared in time for her to dart behind one of the ice pillars and crouch there to avoid the wind.
Lyle was glad his pokemon was clear-headed again, but they were still at a disadvantage. "Try Swagger again!" he called.
Tetania stepped out from behind the pillar, found Hell-hoot, and started strutting towards her opponent. As best she could on the slippery ground, anyway.
