Another stressful day gone, a few more stressful days to go before the retreat into the jungle, away from Neued, was complete. Biroki had been healing and managing and doing boring stuff all day. He was antsy, and he needed to unwind. Badly.

He tried to ease the stress by taking a walk in the jungle outskirts of the town, but he was too pissed. Still more skirmishes, more wounded, more dead. Too many people running, too many people scared. Heck, he was scared, though he wasn't out there, and soon would be home. Safe, as safe as Jahuar could be anyway.

He was too angry and on edge to take a walk, and he knew it and was proven right when he startled at a noise and sent a fireball spinning after it to explode, charred, on a tree and near a very confused Maglardilla. Unthinking, his wrath indominable, unabatable, and irrational, he struck at it again and again as it flew, shrieking, over his head and around him, trying to claw him. Lighting and fire sizzled in the air, and the smell of Ozone began to linger around the small path.

Finally, the maglardilla fled, only its tail showing the scorches of its run in with the fire mage. Biroki's breath came fast and his eyes were widened, showing their whites.

Suddenly, he blinked. It was as if he had come to. He straightened from his fighting crouch, puzzled and uneasy. What had he just done? Why had he attacked the Maglardilla so viciously? He had had no reason to do so.

It was the war, and Zuri, and... everything. It was breaking him. It was crushing his spirit into something dark, and he did not like it. That night, he returned to his temporary quarters, motivated to think of ways to resolve the situation with Zuri. But he fell asleep before he could even think of one thing.
