Karayan wasn't exactly a vengeful sort of person, he was normally the sort that was seen in an upbeat and happy sort of mood but when it came to one thing in particular he just wasn't able to deal with. That 'one thing' being the Peisio dragons. He knew full well that he shouldn't dislike a particular dragon more then another, he shouldn't find himself angry at a whole race of dragons... and yet at the moment he really was. He didn't like the idea of them at the moment, he didn't like what one of them had done to his best friend, and he wanted nothing more then to get his hands on some of the blue orbs to make himself feel better and make his friend feel better. Not that he could exactly make up for the fact that his friend had lost an arm... he doubted very highly that there was really anything that could come close to make up for the fact that such a thing had happened to poor Madryn. Still, it was all that he could think to do at the moment. He wasn't a healer, he was a fighter, he wasn't a smart guy either, he was a bit of a block head, as such all he could do was fight to try to make himself feel better.

Looking up at the little fae dragon that was perched on his head he said, "I kinda miss Gram, you know?" He meant to head back soon, once he knew that Madryn was going to pull through. There was only so much that he was able to do himself aside from getting Madryn and Sueno to the healer, from there he was sent away so that they could take care of Madryn. He understood to a degree, he wasn't a part of the family like Sueno was, so him hanging around doing nothing would likely only cause him to be in the way sadly. It was why he was out doing what he was doing in the first place. Hunting for Peisio dragons was at least something to do, something to try to take his mind off what was going on back with the Healers, though even that wasn't quite enough. It was impossible to erase the image of Madryn from his mind... he had looked so weak, so pale, and so out of it.

He could only pray to Abronaxus that Madryn would be alright. Sure, Madryn wasn't one of his children but he really didn't know about praying to Seren. Would she even listen to someone like him? If he thought that she would listen then he would be more then happy to do it, to ask her to look after Madryn in his stead, but since he was so uncertain about it all he felt that it was probably best to pray to the same God he always prayed to. Perhaps he would get lucky and Abronaxus would pass on his prayers to Seren? If that happened then she could see to it that Madryn was made well again! At this point Karayan felt that was the most that he could really ask for given what had happened to his friend. He couldn't very well be whole again, not unless it was by some divine miracle, not when the arm had been lost. Given that he didn't know if the Abronaxus or Seren were capable of such a thing then perhaps Madryn could at least be made well? That would be something at least.

As Karayan left the forest, coming out near the edge of the water, Ember gave a chirping sound, one that he could tell was tinged with worry, "It's going to be alright. We have done lots of hunting in the past, this is just more of that." Alright, it was a bit different given his mood at the moment but at least he could try to reassure her. He doubted that she believed him though given the way that she seemed to grumble at him.

Suddenly though her grumbling stopped and she launched herself off of his head and up into the air. Before he could even think to question her he was getting hit by a rush of cold water, water that pushed him backwards, back into the forest. He was barely able to grab onto one of the trees to keep himself from behind washed along further. Clinging to it he looked around the trees, eyes narrowing when he spotted a pair of Peisio dragons there. It would seem just as he was after them they seemed to be after him? Maybe because he'd attacked that one earlier? No matter, he'd found them, they found him, and the battle was about to start he thought to himself in a rather displeased manner. Normally he had fun with his hunts but this one was going to be so much more then mere fun...

It was something quite new to Karayan, to actually have a pair of dragons picking on him in the manner that the two Peisio seemed to be doing. It was different and it was grating... Every time that he moved passed the edge of the woods he found himself almost instantly shoved back by a rush of water. It was something that not only soaked him to the bone but it also made him wonder if they planned on flooding the area around him just to spite him. Damn dragons! They shouldn't be allowed to mock him in such a manner he thought to himself in a grumpy manner from where he was currently sitting, some distance into the forest, the last place that the rush of water had dropped him off. He looked around the area, then up further to where Ember was perched, watching him as he dealt with wave after wave of water.

He seemed to think on it for a moment before giving a little sigh, perhaps he should do what Ember was doing? Maybe he too should go up high, get a better vantage point over the dragons, and send a wave of his own attacks their way? It might give him a chance to try to strike out at them since they sure weren't letting him get close to them the easy way. How he looked forward to the day that he great wings he thought to himself, looking around a moment before he made a couple motions with his hands, drawing up a couple of earthen spires. He hoped up onto one of them before he started to create more of them, getting himself higher so that he could hop over onto a tree. From there it was pretty easy! He loved to climb trees back home, though often he tended to end up hanging from them upside down... No matter. He could keep that from happening this time around since he really didn't want to end up as low hanging fruit for a couple hungry dragons.

Once he was where he could see the dragons he realized that they were still waiting for him. Waiting, watching the spot that he kept coming out of, and it was something that made him give a little grumbling sound under his breath, "Am I really so predictable?" He asked of himself It was one of those questions that was actually rather easy to answer. The answer was a resounding 'YES' given that he really wasn't the sort that backed down easily. He was also the sort that had a bit of a hard time when it came to not charging ahead blindly into any various scenario. If it weren't for the fact that Ember had given him to the idea in the first place to come up here he had a feeling that he might very well be charging on ahead still to no avail. He'd have to thank her with a snack or shiny bauble later he thought to himself before he set to gathering power to his hands. Once he felt that he had enough of the deep, golden brown energy gathered he unleashed it in a torrent of spikes that burst of from the ground, rushing head long toward the pair of Peisio dragons.

The two of them watched for a moment, lunging to either side, before going under the water to avoid the attack. They didn't seem to know where the source of the attack was coming from but it was easy to avoid it by hiding themselves. Something that he hadn't exactly counted on, one of those things that had him grumbling under his breath, "Huh... that was pretty smart of them." He hated to be impressed by his 'bitter enemy' though. He had to recall why he was here, why he was fighting them... and the moment he did he cursed at himself. Damn it all, he was doing this to forget had happened and instead he caused him to think on the incident all over again. As his focus shifted from the battle and back to Madryn his spell crumbled away into dust. The moment that happened, sensing the onslaught was over, the two dragons surfaced again. It was something that made him want nothing more then to wrap his hands around the two of their necks... but given that he couldn't really do that he would have to think of a different way to go about this battle. He didn't want to walk away with nothing after all. He'd come here to try to avenge Madryn, to walk away without any orbs at all would make him feel as though he'd failed his friend completely...

The next idea that had come to mind for Karayan was to try to somehow get the dragons out of the water, to make it easier for him to beat them that way. They were likely used to moving only through the water, right? It would mean that they would be more helpless on land... or so he was guessing. He hadn't exactly had time to study up on this clan as he had with the previous ones before he went off hunting them. He was going off the rumors he'd heard as well as what he'd seen thus far of them. It really made him wonder how others before him had gone about hunting them, what did those without magic do when it came to this sort of force? How he wished that he had such a person on hand, that Kadryn woman for instance. He bet that she had battled with them herself before though how would she have gone about it?

Thinking on it for a moment he decided that it was probably a combination of that wicked weapon she carried as well as the wings. Flying much help out when one went into battle against all manner of creatures, "I want wings!" He said again, feeling as though that were a secondary theme to today's battle. It was something that Ember would likely laugh at him for was she close enough to hear him complaining. Instead the fae dragon was likely off on the perch he'd last seen her at. She wasn't the sort that got herself involved in battles, not when she was so tiny and might very well get hurt. She was a vain little thing and getting a scar would likely destroy her entire world! Or so he was guessing from her normal behavior when it came to anything dangerous.

"Since I don't have wings I can at least try to mimic the other thing she had." He murmured to himself, it would mean getting closer to them though, which he could only do if they weren't in the water. So then what did he need? A way to keep from being hit with the water for one... so perhaps a break? He looked around for a moment, then nodded, "Yes! Got it!" He murmured, making a couple motions with his hands, dragging a pillar up to him. It was one that he hopped on, riding it down to the ground, before he gathered more power into himself, and sent it racing forward through the ground in an arch. After a moment the ground began to tremble and a tilted walk burst up from the ground. It was what he instantly ran toward... and at the same time the dragons sent another wave of water his way.

Karayan was just barely able to slid his way to the wall, pressing against it, as the water went up over the top, and continued to rush along for a moment leaving the ground once more sopping wet. He gave a sighing sound of relief before he tilted his head, listening to the dragons. He could hear them roaring and complaining, before he heard what he'd been hoping to hear, the sound of them leaving the water. Their foot steps on the ground made them seem that much bigger, something that sent a shiver up his spine, before he prepared himself. He needed to create another wall, this one to cut them off from the water, so that a fairer battle could be begin! He only hoped that in doing so he wasn't just going to rile them up and making them that much of a force to reckon with.

The ground itself seemed to shake a little under the Dovaa's feet, something that was a little unnerving if only because he was used to being the one moving the earth. Not to mention that until this point he had been fighting a lot in the desert and the ground there seemed to shift a lot less under the feet of dragons due to it not exactly being connected the same as the ground here was. Either way it told him that the dragons that were coming his way were really heavy. It was something that he felt was both good and bad. Heavier meant bigger, bigger meant stronger, but it also meant slower if he were lucky. Alright, all he had to do now was wait... which was probably the most difficult aspect of this entire battle. To have to wait, when was he ever good at that? It was part of why he was out here. Since he wasn't allowed to wait inside the healer's place, he'd of just been in the way then, and he couldn't sit still outside, here he was. He had to burn off all that nervous energy and this seemed the best outlet. Now he was stuck waiting... and that gave him far too much time to think... all of the things that rushed across his mind were things that he didn't want to think about.

The first and foremost one being that if he had just been a little faster that he would have been able to help Madryn before he'd been bitten! It was something that weighed on him and he couldn't help but to feel almost relieved when the dragon's showed up, one looking around either side of his barrier toward where he was sitting behind it. It was a wonderful distraction, seeing them both so close, and scared him enough to completely blank out his mind. He threw himself backwards against his barrier just as they both send a water based attack his way and instantly the barrier crumbled, letting him through. He spun around and, after exerting a lot of power, he was able to drag forth a secondary wall that would cut the two dragons off from the water and forth them to stay here and fight him! It was quite an accomplishment, one that he wished he could show off to... well, anyone... before he whirled around to face the two dragons.

There was a moment of very uncomfortable silence as the two dragons looked toward the new all, over at Karayan, then back again. It seemed as though it were something that greatly displeased them. It made sense, of course, they were a little cut off from their natural element after all and he was sure that he wouldn't much care for that feeling. His line of thoughts were completely erased when the pair of them turned on him, both giving great, loud roars in unison, before they dragged a wave of water up and over the wall that Karayan had created, bring the water down on the Gaili Dovaa. It was something that caught him off guard even though he shouldn't have allowed himself to get so distracted when he was dealing with a pair of dangerous dragons.

The wave of water dragged him forward toward the dragons, both of which looked as though they were eager to get at him. He gave a squeak of surprised before he dragged up two earthen spires, something that missed their targets by quite a bit but it was at least enough to force them to retreat a couple steps. It protected him from potential attack though the water still caused him to collide with his first wall. He was quick to grab hold of it, clinging until the rush of water had ended, before he pushed to his feet. Once there he shook off, spit out a mouth full of water, then gave a grumbling sound, "Eesh, this sucks... I am never gonna dry out..." He muttered to himself, missing the warmth of Eowyn as he turned to face the two dragons once more. They had recovered from their near miss with getting hit with the spires and were once more on advancing on him. Well... at least they weren't running? It was the best he could come up with to look on the bright side on such short notice as he prepared for the next round with the pair.

Karayan knelt down, putting a hand against the ground, gathering more the nearby rocks from under the sopping wet ground that he was standing on. It took him a moment but they came at his summons, wrapping around his fists, encasing them in earthen gauntlets, "Not quite as wicked as her weapon but still pretty good I think." He murmured to himself, flexing his hand into a fist, before he turned to face the dragons that were coming his way. He took in a deep breath before charging forward to meet the pair of them. He had to see about finishing this battle off as quickly as he could, even if that meant rushing them... again. This time though he was a little smarter, using the earth under his feet to launch himself forward toward one of them. Flying through the air was an interesting sensation before he landed on the creature's back. It was something that made his eyes go a bit wide before he brought both of his fists down on the back of the dragon's neck.

There was quite the impressive 'crunch' sound before the dragon set to shaking itself, throwing Karayan off of its back in a manner that the Gaili saw coming. He never was able to stay on he thought to himself as he tucked and rolled with the momentum as he fell. Sure, it still hurt, but at least he was able to keep himself from just face planting against the ground. He was quick to push back up onto his feet again, not wanting to stay down for any longer then was necessary else he might get trampled on, tail whipped, or otherwise mauled by the two big Peisio dragons. He knew what these monsters were capable of and as such he knew that he had to stay on his toes if he wanted to beat them. No, there really wasn't any 'want' about this battle, was there? This more of a need to win type of thing, it was something that he needed to do. He didn't much care for the Peisio type of dragon now and taking some of their orbs, it would at least help to alleviate the emotions that were roiling inside of him. At least he really hoped so.

Gathering more power to him he used it to launch some rocks forward, entangling the dragon's he'd injured with them. With the dragon trapped in place he had some time and leeway to gather more of the golden brown energy to him whilst dodging the attacks of the second dragon. Only when he felt that he had enough of the power gathered did he finally strike... and the attack was a rather impressive one. Just like with the dragon that had savaged Madryn he was able to spear it through the midsection with a earthen spike. The dragon struggled for but a moment before crumbling away into naught but a bit of dust and a pretty, glittering orb.

The sight of the orb made him smile and feel a touch of relief, though it wasn't a feeling meant to last as the second dragon came charging at him. Karayan was met with a headbutt that sent him flying. He bounced off a few of the rocky structures that he'd made earlier before rolled to a stop not far from where the Peisio Orb was laying at the moment. He gave it a glance, then gave it a look, feeling for a moment as though it were glittering at him in a mocking type way... though he was sure that was just his imagination and the blow to the head talking. Orbs couldn't mock a person... right? At least he didn't think so. No matter, time to keep from being crushed by that charging dragon he thought to himself as he pulled the earth over himself as a shield, giving himself a moment to catch his breath before the battle began anew.

Laying under the ground gave Karayan a perfect place to lay low for a bit and gave him a too close for comfort seat to listen to the rage of the dragon above him. He could tell it was close to where he was hiding out and resting up at the moment but it had yet to find him which was a relief. For the moment all the water that the two dragons had kicked up and soaked the area with was actually helping him. It was making it difficult for the dragon to track him by scent and given all the other various areas that he'd torn up with his magic it gave the dragon many places to search... as well as many places to destroy if he had to guess. The way that the ground shook, the loud crashing sounds, and the way that some of his power returned to him as the various pillars and walls fell was a good indication of this.

No matter, he'd of returned the ground to the way it was when he found it anyway... or at least as close to as possible. While his power was useful for making all manner of things he knew better then to leave places all messed up, save for Eowyn of course. Given that place five minutes and the wind tended to flatten out any mess he made, making it one of his favorite places to fight actually.

"I should probably get out there before it thinks to flee." He muttered to himself, lifting his hands up, pressing them against the top of his hiding spot, about to emerge when he felt a shiver go through him. He could feel, the dragon's movements above ground. It was coming closer and closer to him he realized. He drew in a deep breath to steady himself, then decided that he was going to stay right where he was for the moment. There was no reason for him to flee from the dragon when it was actually coming right to him. If he was lucky he would be able to get a surprise attack on it, laying it to rest before it was able to get another shot in against Karayan. He was already achy enough from its last attack. He would rather not get hit by the big, riled Peisio again.

Holding his breath, hands steady against the ground, he waited for the perfect time to strike...

It took everything that Karayan had to hold back and wait for the right moment to strike. It was never his strong suit to wait but this time around he had the perfect way to go about it, the perfect way to finish off the dragon in one hit, he just had to trust in himself and his powers. That also meant that despite his overwhelming desire to burst out of the ground like some sort of crazed mole creature he had to hold himself back and just wait... but finally, finally the time to strike arrived. He could feel it, the way that the ground shook above him, the dragon's feet were on either side of him now he realized.

Karayan's eyes narrowed a little as he made a few motions with his hands, twisting the earth that he was hiding in to his will, then sent it all flying straight upwards in the form of a wave of sharp earthen spikes. The dragon never saw it coming and was only able to give one pathetically weak roar before crumbling away. As the orb hit the ground Karayan rose up out of it. He pulled himself to his feet, looking around at the mess that he and the two dragons had caused, before walking over to scoop up the two orbs. He gave them a once over before he looked back toward the forest that he'd come from, "It's all over now, Ember!" He called out before turning his attention to the mess he'd made.

After making a few motions with his hands the earth started to return to its original shape. No more spikes, no more walls, no more pillars. Just a few marks here and there that said the earth had been moved at one point. It would take a bit of time for it all to get fixed up if a Ysali didn't come along to fix the plants, but at least it was all back where it belonged. Turning his attention to the fairy dragon as she arrived he said, "Come on, let's bring these back and check on Madryn and Sueno, alright?"

Ember gave a chirping sound of agreement before landing on Karayan's head, the two of them heading back to where today's 'adventure' had begun, that being the healer's home.
