Rep had been right in his own... Rep sort of way. While he made it seem perfectly clear that he had ulterior motives to satisfy in this. He also hinted that, in his own strange way, he did not want Al to suffer and be unhappy all the time either. He gave the man's door a long lingering look as he made it half-way down the hallway before cowardice crept into his gut.
Al felt sick.
There was a lot to consider here. What were his motives, first of all? Was he just out for spite or selfishness? He had to be completely honest with himself before he could ever hope to be honest with anyone else.
He started moving down the hall again towards his own room.
That wasn't it. He remembered the him from the dream. It didn't repulse him to think of it. In reality, as much as it scared him, it also excited him. The excitement is what frightened him. It wasn't a normal sort of excitement he was used to. Unexpected, it was certainly unexpected. But it feels like after the initial shock wore off... he missed it. His stomach fluttered at the same time his heart ached. It wasn't just sex.
He pushed the tarp out of his way and hit his dresser. There still wasn't much in the way of possessions, he missed several of his leaves and opportunities to get new clothes by hiding the way he had been. He realized while trying to find a shirt that was clean that Noah still had one he was borrowing. Thankfully, someone came through and washed his things or he would have been out of anything even remotely humane to other people's noses. He grabbed his lucky shirt, trousers, a pair of socks, and underpants then left again.
It was raw emotion and wants and needs being fulfilled by someone who knew him better than anyone else could have hoped to. But, that world also wasn't real, no matter how vivid the memories. That is a fact that is going to constantly blow up in his face. The reality is, they are in a far more dangerous time and place. No one is going to wait for someone to faff about as if they don't want you. But he does. He just had... to...
Al gave an audible snarl behind the next person in line for the showers, they turned their head to give him a strange look before jumping in for their turn. But he wasn't looking at them, he didn't care.
He knew this was going to be a problem. It was going to be a problem no matter what though. It's not like his feelings weren't expressed. He can't just suddenly pretend that nothing was said or almost happened. Why the ******** couldn't he have just let it. It wasn't the right time or place, he reminded himself. He wasn't ready then. He is now. But now is too late. But what is too late about it? It's never too late for being honest. They also need everything out in the open if there's going to be any moving forward in any direction at all.
His thoughts were a big mess of chaos.
He slipped his shirt on over his head, his hair still dripping wet from water.
But what do I say? Et's okeh. But I can't... Y'can do dis.
He was in the hall again, heading towards a new destination. It was time. All he could hear was a loud ringing. Y'can do dis.
