Proto stood silently in the elevator, patiently waiting for it to reach the bottom floors and...well, his escape. At least for a while. He was in his usual disguise, helmet and gun left back in his room, cloak thrown over his uniform and his shield resting on his back underneath it. Sunglasses and a few wild bangs of hair stuck out from underneath the hood.

Surely no Citizen would recognize him.

Now....the good thing about this place was that Wily had given him damn hear his own floor. Proto was secluded...when he wanted to be (or Bass wasn't wrecking up his room), and had just about everything he needed on his floor. He could stay up there for quite a long time, if he wanted to. The bad thing about this was his floor was pretty high up...so anytime he -did- want to leave it was one hell of a long elevator ride down.

Like today.

But still, it'd get down there eventually, right?

...Unless of course it stopped on a floor that was definitely -not- the first floor. Proto growled a bit as the doors started to open.

Splash waited placidly for the elevator to stop on her floor. Her parade rest stance was the most energy efficient way to stand, balancing her weight perfectly with her trident. She never went anywhere without her trident, and always made sure it was fully charged. The elevator rung with it's familiar sound alerting her that it had reached her floor. As the door opened, she saw a familiar, albeit, disguised face.

"Oh. Hello Proto. I see you are dressed for an evening out on the town."

She commented rather neutrally stepping onto the elevator, once again standing at parade rest. Knowing some what of Proto's feeling towards the fleshed audios of the city, and many of their feelings towards him, Splash often wondered why he put himself in such danger.

....Well, worse could have stepped onto the elevator. Proto respectfully nodded to the other as she entered.

"Yes. And you look ready as always."
Really, that bot -always- had her trident ready and waiting. Not like he could talk, since his shield was almost always with him.

As for him putting himself in danger...well, it was boring waiting around the Tower all the time. Proto was built for combat, and he was damn good at it. Sitting up in his room could amuse him for only so long, otherwise he needed to be out and roaming.

Sometimes just looking for trouble.

One corner of Splash's mouth went up in a knowing smile. She appreciated Proto's effort toward responding to her greetings, despite his reluctance to hold conversation. She also understood the absolute boredom the tower offered most of the time, and the restlessness a combat bot would accumulate if one stayed here to long. Splash was built for a different kind of combat, and could not leave the tower unless with Dr. Wily himself, designed as a personal guard to the scientist and engineer who'd rebuilt this city. As a general, Proto demonstrated he could care for himself, and others, but none the less, Splash always made sure he, and most of the other bots who resided in the tower, maintained themselves properly. Perhaps Dr. Wily had programmed her that way to defray some of the mental weight of maintaining the high ranking bots who worked in the tower.

"Have you checked your coolant levels recently? You do not want to be suck away from the tower with low liquid levels."

She was sure he'd be exasperated over the question. She did ask it quite often, but with Proto's history, she felt it necessary to be asked once again.

Proto heaved the robot equivalent of a long. suffering. sigh. This was pretty much his reaction every time Splash asked him this question. Which, honesty, was quite often.

"I assure you, I am more than equipped to deal with the City streets for a few hours."

For the love of...WHY did this stupid Tower have so many floors?! Oh...right, because it was super tall and he was near the top. Yeah, there was that. Still. The cloaked bot shifted a bit, trying not to show his unease.

"I'm just going on a walk. I'll be fine. I even promise I won't pick on any Citizens. Okay?"
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2014 7:23 pm

Splash could not help but to smile broadly. Capable, and yet so like a pup at times.

"It is unwise to make promises one cannot keep," she chided jestingly.

Splash glanced at the keypad, watching the light move down the floors.

"Sometimes I wonder why the doctor built such a tall tower, and not a lower complex of buildings."

Splash shifted her trident to her other arm. She fiddled with the loose button on the handle that was her reason for her elevator ride. Although for the moment it did not effect the weapon greatly, she wished it dealt with before it became an issue at the wrong moment. Nothing worse than the switch that controlled the electric charge of her weapon being faulty.

"Hey now..I can go out into public and -not- cause a problem. I'm not Bass after all."

Nevermind that sometimes he -did- like to cause trouble...and sometimes he even liked to cause trouble with Bass! But tonight he didn't want any of that. Just a walk, that was it. Really. He swore.

"I believe he enjoys the height...easier to watch over the City if you are above it. Also easier to distance yourself from the people."
That was why Proto -did- like his floor. Things were peaceful up there at least.

"...Weapon need fixing?"
He had caught a glance of her fiddling with the button out of the corner of his eye. At least she actually kept her things maintained, that was a good practice for any of Wily's robots.

...Shut up, he knew he didn't like maintenance. Get over it.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 30, 2014 7:42 pm

The laughing came involuntarily.

"Ah, Bass. That one can cause trouble like no one else, flesh or bot."

While it was true many of Bass' antics annoyed Splash, they amused her as well. Especially when those antics ended up in what was referred to as 'instant karma'. She thought about Proto's answer to the question of building height.

"Yes, that does make sense. Better to watch over the city from a good vista point."

A touch of annoyance came across her face.

"This button seems to want to be loose. I thought it prudent to have it dealt with before it causes a short in the entire trident."

Splash's trident meant a lot to her. Besides, someone needed to set a good example to the lower ranking bots. Splash did not hesitate to lecture the various robots in the tower about properly maintaining weapons or themselves. The floors rushed by in what seemed like an endless ride towards the earth below. The absence of elevator music seemed a small blessing.

Proto nodded once more. Yes, quite responsible to get the trident fixed...and it definitely did set a good example to the lower bots. They were easy to keep in line at least. It was the upper ones you had to watch out for.

The elevator dinged once more, signalling another stop. Proto heaved yet -another- sigh and moved aside to let whoever it was in. The doors opened....

And the large form of Magma Dragoon stood in the doorway.
"Hello there Splash." Oh good, maybe he hadn't been recognized... "AND Blues."
"DON'T...call me that."
Magma just laughed as Proto growled in his corner of the elevator.
"Heading out to cause some trouble are ya? I was going to head out and look for a good fight. Clearly you should come along."

Proto, by now, would have been pressing the button to go back -up- if it didn't involve shoving past Magma Dragoon.
"....I changed my mind, I think I'm going to stay in."

When the elevator door opened, Splash shifted to allow the newest passenger entry. She shifted slightly more when she realized who was joining them.

"Hello Magma Dragoon," Oh dear. This ride was about to become....interesting. Proto's sudden change in mind prompted Splash to feel a bit sorry for him.

"You could always assist me in checking the building if you wish to do something without leaving, Proto. I'll be doing that as soon as I have this button attended to,"

It wasn't something very exciting, but at least he wouldn't be stuck in his room avoiding Magma Dragoon's taunting. Splash ignored Dragoon's insistence on calling Proto 'Blues'. Correcting him would only wear her circuits out.

"Oh come -on- Blues, I'm starting to doubt you're really a combat bot at all. You're always bitching about one thing or another and never out having -fun-."
"Quit. Calling. Me. Blues."
"Or what? You'll whine me to death?"
Magma let out another laugh as the elevator -finally- made it to the bottom. Doors opening, the large bot made his way out and towards the front door.
"See ya later Splash. Blues."

Proto let out a rage filled snarl as the other bot made his exit.
"That a*****e."
Ears were pinned back under that hood, his tail lashing back and forth in a -clearly- agitated manner.
"...I'm -not- going out..so I suppose I can walk around this forsaken building with you."
PostPosted: Fri May 02, 2014 5:39 pm

Splash waited quietly while Magma harassed Proto. She signed inwardly with relief when the elevator door opened.

"Attempt not to cause to much trouble Magma Dragoon. They are still in the middle of repairing the damage done by the recent fires. Maintain yourself well." Her good byes always ended with her telling the others to maintain themselves.

She stepped off the elevator and walked over to a small office.

"This shouldn't take long,"
she assured Proto, handing her trident to another bot. She quickly explained what was wrong pointing to the loose button. Immediately, the repair bot began weld around the button to secure it.

"Not like I have anywhere to be."
At least -now- he didn't. Thanks a lot Magma Dragoon. a*****e.

Proto leaned against the wall, arms folded across his chest as he waited for Splash's business to be attended to. Really, it didn't take long at all. The minor repair bots that Wily kept around were extremely efficient at their jobs. In no time at all her trident would be back to full working order.

Only then would the red general pull himself away from the wall and return to her side.
PostPosted: Sat May 03, 2014 8:21 pm

The repair robot's work finished in under five minutes. As soon as the bot returned her trident, Splash tested the button. Switching to on, it began to hum softly, indicating the high voltage that ran through it. The button remained nice and firm. Satisfied, she switched it back off.

"Thank you. Maintain yourself well," she told the bot turning back to Proto.

"Sense we are already here, we can start here,"
Normally she worked her way down, but already being on the ground floor, there was no point in going back up just to come back down.

Walking the building did not offer to much of a challenge, so long as one remained vigilant. Splash missed no amount of movement, and recorded anything everything classified as suspicious. She found the task a chance to reflect on the world around her, although she appreciated Proto's company this time.

Proto walked along in silence, not entirely eager to reflect on the world around him. It sucked, to be quite honest, and he hated damn near everyone -in- it. Reflecting on it was just going to cause him to be in a worse mood.

So, instead, he started to whistle to himself as they patrolled the building. This wasn't all that bad. It was kind of nice to be walking around with someone that -wasn't- Bass. Splash was nice enough to him, and though she constantly asked him about his internal systems really it just meant she cared. Proto could use more people in his life that cared about him.

At one point he was comfortable enough to even lower his cloak's hood. He shook his head, hair popping back into place as he did. Yeah...this was definitely better than going out onto the City streets and dealing with Magma. Ugh.
