Massalia had been out of the patrol loop, lately. School was busy, followed by the holidays, but overall the young senshi was grateful to be out doing his part as opposed to, well, the alternative, and Massalia was careful as he moved about the city.

He didn't have his dog, for once, and the Chibi hated that he couldn't bring him as he moved about, but he did hope that perhaps he'd find something else, like a familiar face to stick to and talk to. Anything was better than being out alone.

The day started and ended with Ashur being rather out of sorts. The funk he'd fallen into couldn't really explain why the days seems to drag unless he was around certain people, or why he'd just outright been feeling like crap for however long he was awake. He wanted to blame his dad, but even that guy had been leaving him to his own devices for the past week that it made it seem as though he was actually giving him some space.

And yet here he was, patrolling with his eyes basically glazed over and unfocused. He leaned over the ledge of the roof and heaved a sigh, not paying too much attention to the Order signature that suddenly blipped on his mental radar. Ash gave a shake of his head, though, and wondered in passing if he'd have someone to kill time with that night. It'd be loads better than being on his own, far as he was concerned.

Massalia moved around carefully, peering and cautious, hoping to avoid Chaos signatures, wrapped up in his effort - almost too wrapped u. He didn't notice the Order aura until almost too late, and the young Chibi Senshi didn't immediately realize it until the last moment when he was practically about to pass it by, and promptly looked around, spying someone nearby and bounding over.

"Hello!" The boy greeted eagerly. Order signatures rarely bode ill.

The greeting came as somewhat of a surprise, though he did feel the signature getting closer. Shoving his depressed thoughts aside, Ashur turned to see none other than Massalia, about as cheerful as he had been when the Page first met him. A small smile soon etched itself onto his face and he raised a hand in greeting as the younger boy approached. "Yo."

He could have said more in reply, but his mood kept him from saying anything else as he turned and leaned against the ledge he'd just been looking over. "Patrolling alone again?"

Sorry, missed a quote. My internet was acting up when I posted that. *o*

Massalia beamed several moments. He remembered Ashur, and the Chibi hurried over before his face became rather somber.

"S-Yes." Massalia nodded. "I... Do it alone a lot. For others. The only ones I can ask, I worry about. And you?"
PostPosted: Mon May 05, 2014 1:06 pm

"For others?" the Page asked, brow raised in a rather questioning fashion. It was an interesting thing to think about; honestly, he wasn't really doing this knight thing for anyone but himself, which was maybe why he was lacking any motivation to get anything done. With a sigh he dismissed the thought.

"Why do you worry?" he proceeded to ask, though he had a feeling he already knew the answer. "As for me, just.. kind of killing time, I guess? Trying to clear my head and sort out a few priorities." It was a lie, but Ash didn't think the Chibi needed to know the truth anyhow.

"I know other Senshi less informed, close to my age." Massalia frowned, closing his eyes. "One is my best friend. I do not want her hurt so... I try to do everything. So they do not need to fight, to get hurt."

The Chibi Senshi looked down, frowning.

"They do not need to see other agents of the bad people... So they do not get hurt. I don't want them hurt."

He sighed a small sigh, and looked up to Ashur.

"I hope things are doing well clearing your head."

After a moment, he seemed to think, before looking up.

"How do you fight? I mean. I do not know how very good. And... I need to learn. somehow."

Ashur watched the young Senshi as he offered a small bit of insight into his motives for continuing on with the duties of a Senshi despite his young age. He had to hand it to the kid, he had pretty noble reasons. Protecting those he cared around rather than something vague and general. Meanwhile he couldn't think of a single reason he ought to stick around as a knight.

And he even had time to be concerned for him. Ashur shrugged. "Eh, it's alright. Life gets complicated, throws punches, whatever. I'm handling it okay, all things considered."

The Page smiled, a bit forced though, at the Chibi senshi, before his expression was thrown at the sudden change in topic. "Uh, fight?" he asked, brows suddenly knitted together. He thought for a second before shrugging.

"I swing my fists, I guess. My 'weapons' aren't exactly useful, so when I have to fight these," he paused and raised his fists, "are the only weapons I've got." Ash paused and crossed his arms then, at the boy's admission.

He always was pretty honest, even from their first meeting.

"I don't have much to teach, but I can try and help if you want?" he offered. At least those recent fighting and sparring sessions would be even more useful now.

Massalia lit up appreciatively, the young boy almost dancing.

"Oh, but that's still better than kicking!" He admitted. "I mean. I do not know everything yet about being a senshi. I am not sure how my abilities work and I really want to be able to teach the others something, but... It's hard. I'm on my own a lot. I do not like needing rescue." Massalia frowned, then balled his hands into fists. "So... I make fists like this?" He asked, almost dancing eagerly. He nearly got punched by his brother Thomas once, but their fights usually were less battles, more Thomas-and-he-grabbing-one-another-and-biting.

Not helpful in a battle at all, even if Massalia wanted to throw his brother to a youma.

He was almost dancing, the Page noted with a small grin as he got into a battle-ready stance. Really it was just a boxer's form, with both fists up and his body slightly crouched while he bounced lightly on the balls of his feet. "Yeah, that's it," he encouraged as he watched the young senshi.

Ashur went over the few tips and tricks he'd picked up from a few other knights recently, trying to roll it all together so it made sense in his brain and he was sure that it'd make to someone significantly younger than him. "You gotta be quick," he started, "Alert, paying attention to what your opponent is doing."

He demonstrated a few jabs and a feint once to the left, then back to the right. "A friend of mine also told me to not let emotions get in the way, 'cause you'll get distracted and lose focus." Ash stopped bouncing then, and faced Massalia before getting into position. "I'll apologize ahead of time for anything I might say, but...come at me, and I'll show you what I mean."

NovaCracker
I'm planning on having Ashur be a little mean to get a rise out of Massalia so he can prove a point, if that's alright with you. XD; Anything you think I can say that might rile him up?

Insults dominantly, about age, height, intelligence. Massalia has aqn older brother who picks on him, so stuff like that works great!

Massalia nodded and attempted to imitate, watching for signs and tells, trying to focus with the skill of an 11 year old used to watching an older sibling as he jumped about eagerly.

"I'm ready! I promise, I am! And, and I promise not to get mad!"

Ashur SURELY wouldn't be that mean!
PostPosted: Tue May 13, 2014 11:30 am

At the boy's enthusiasm Ashur almost regretted the insults that were pooling in his brain. Whether powered or civilian, he just wasn't the sort to fling those kinds of words without a second thought. Thankfully, this was more a training session than an actual fight. And he'd covered his bases with a preemptive apology, so...

"Alright, come on than, runt," he started in as teasing and mean a voice as he could muster, crouching so his fists were more level with Massalia's. "How's this then? Low enough for you, shortstack? C'mon." He gestured with his palms, Neo-style, and narrowed his eyes.

"I bet you punch like a girl, that's why you're moving so slowly. That's why you're hesitating, huh? Do you fight like a girl, Massalia? Or should I start calling you 'Miss'alia from now on?"

They were juvenile insults at best, but...well, he was dealing with a kid. Back then he wanted to beat whoever said similar things to him to a pulp. He hoped it'd work though, at least enough so he could prove his point. And then the lesson could continue.

NovaCracker
I'm sorry the insults are all so petty. XDDD Ashur's not really a meanie, not even when he tries. His temper and insults are all focused on his dad. :'>

Thsat's fine! Massalia's only a butt to other kids, and even then he's mellowing.

Massalia blinked, before puffing up and growling angrily, pouting. He knew it was supposed to help, but... He sounded like Thomas, and the young Senshi scowled, swinging a tiny fist unhappily.

"I'm not short!" He screeched. "I'M NOT!" and Massalia did as any kid would. He kicked out for Ashur, sulking.
PostPosted: Tue May 13, 2014 12:33 pm

Almost as expected, and maybe even regrettably so, Massalia acted his age. Pouting, defending himself, insisting he wasn't the things Ashur was calling him. And the Page really didn't mean any of it, but he was glad it was having an effect on the chibi senshi. The boy's fist easily caught his open palm; Ashur blocked it without any trouble, and he took a few steps back to ready himself for the next one. It wasn't a bad hit; weak, but they could work on that later.

When Massalia kicked, though, the Page smiled and caught his leg with relative ease and a slight "oof" when his leg made contact. He held it firmly, though, and let the kid stand there, probably in a rather uncomfortable position.

"See this?" he asked, voice and tone normal, no longer sneering and teasing as it had been when he tried to upset him. "When you're mad you attack without thinking, right? I'm pretty sure that in just about any battle situation, this," and Ashur took a step back to demonstrate that he had complete control of the sparring session because he was stronger -- simply because he was older and physically bigger. "Is probably the worst situation you can get into.

Finally, he let the boy go. "Keep your head ahead of your emotions. Focus, always remember that. It's important."

NovaCracker
He's just spouting like.. nonsense. XD; And he will throughout this whole little "session." You can say that they worked on more kicking and punching and things in your post if you want, move things along a little bit?

This works for me. Little guy needs the help. XD

Massalia was startled by the grab, blinking slowly before nodding and listened, waiting for him to let go.

Help punching - moreso, punching effectively, kicking effectively, was sinking in, soaking into the sponge called his mind, and he mulled it over as the Page explained, teaching him and wondering where to practice. Was it good to practice alone or with others? On his brother - THOMAS might be good practice the big jerk. Massalia didn't like him very much and his brother was mean, the boy decided.

Yes. Yes Thomas would be good, and Massalia seemed to pay even more attention for it.
