This was the most earthlings that she had ever been around in her life. Everywhere she turned there were more of them in different colors. More halfbreeds than she thought as well, as much among there kind as that were partially Alkidike. She didn't have any feelings towards those that were part sister, she didn't think she would ever have any kind of an affair with an earthling though... It was dumb to her.

She sat on a rock sharpening her swords. Her daughter was off looking for her best friend turned girlfriend, and Briella's own love interest was no where to be found. She was most likely off doing something important anyways. Briella sighed. While time to herself was nice, it was also very boring.

Gaddok had made the venture to Neued with Sathe and her sister, holding the little Ice girl he was never formally acquainted with. The healers said she needs medical attention; to which he had no doubt she did… Seeing her in such poor condition made him feel a twinge of guilt for being unscathed in battle. He had unpacked the extra healing supplies Sathe had given him before the war; the healers could use them more.

Knowing Sathe would want to give him a once over since the battle was over, he wrapped things up in the healing tents and stepped out to find Sathe and her sister… Gone? Looking left and right, and then left again he was unable to find either of them. Taking a few steps out of the tent, Gaddok noticed someone sitting off to the side sharpening a weapon, “Excuse me, but have you…” He looked up and down the woman he was questioning, suddenly realizing he was speaking to an Alkidike, his heart jumped into his throat, but he proceeded, “Seen a white haired lady, about this-” he held his hand to a little above the middle of his chest, “Tall bluish crystals and pale eyes? Believe she was wearing orange?”

He couldn’t believe he didn’t look before he opened his mouth… ‘An Alkidike? Really?’ He thought to himself. He noted his palms sweating already and could feel his heart rate increasing as he tried his best not to show signs of being antsy, or nervous. It was true he wanted to meet; to interact with the alkidike at some point in his life, but he just went off to war and was lucky enough… He wasn’t really on board for testing that luck; especially with a well-trained woman that was a head taller than him.

Her blades where new, but they had become slightly dulled due to the battle. She was sitting and sharpening them when all of a sudden she heard a voice talking to her. She stopped mid blade and looked up to see a male earthling speaking to her. When he spoke she frowned. So many people looking for other people, some dead and some alive. It was sad.

"There are many that fit some of that description. Does she have a name?" she asked curiously. Maybe it was one of the few Earthlings that she knew. Though she had to admit that she was getting to know more and more of them after this battle.

She stood up and looked around. Maybe the girl he was looking for was around, but he didn't see her. He was smaller than him after all. "Did you see her after the battle?" she asked as she looked back at him. She didn't want to point him towards where the dead bodies were, but if he hadn't seen the girl recently it might be something that needed to be suggested.

Gaddok was taken aback by the willingness for this Alkidike to help him. It was completely contradictory to what he had been told by the old man banter at the local watering hold. He had told himself it was stereotypes but he hadn’t realized how their words had taken root in his skewed perception, “Um… Sathe. Her name is Sathe. We traveled here from the camp with her sister and an ice earthling.” He shook his head and smirked, “She probably brought her sister to a healing tent, and I hadn’t been paying attention because I was focusing on getting the ice girl some assistance. They were both in pretty rough shape.”

There it was again… The guilt came crawling back inside him. How had he been unscathed when so many were hurt, or worse. Gaddok leaned against the post and sighed, “Well, I know she saw me go in here, so I assume she will meet me back here eventually.”

The more he looked over this particular Alkidike the more familiar she became, “You… were on the battlefield close by where I was.” Most of the battle was a blur to him, but snippets of action were clear in his mind. “You and your sisters are impressive warriors. I was glad to see you aid us in this war.” His face blanched slightly then a pinch of rose graced his cheeks, “N-Not that… I mean, Tendaji is as much your home as-” He could feel himself fumbling through what he wanted to say; what he meant to say, and what was coming out of his mouth and huffed a grumble, “Best to stop now… lest I fall farther from eloquence.”

Offering his hand he introduced himself, “I’m Gaddok Dragol, An aspiring swordsman from Iory, Sauti.” Starting this conversation over with how he is accustomed to was his best bet to get back on track, “I apologize for… My awkwardness just now, I find myself on edge around your people from the stories I’ve been told.” It seemed like a good time to shove his foot in his mouth, but perhaps explaining his disposition would help her understand why he is so guarded. “They say you don’t generally have the time of day for earthlings such as myself; you seem nice enough though.”

Sathe? Why did she know that name... "Sathe is Aminah's younger sister yes?" she asked curiously. She had battled with Aminah once before, she considered the earthling one of the few that she actually knew. She hadn't seen Sathe since the girl was just a youngling, but at the same time she was sure the girl didn't look too different. She would recognize her. "Is Aminah okay? Sathe?" he said they were in bad shape, but what did that mean? She hoped that he was just exaggerating.

She smiled at him, he was so nervous. It was a good feeling, to feel powerful. But also sad. What kind of things did they tell the earthlings about her sisters. "More so our home even than yours." she said with a wink. "But I think you for the compliments, the Earthlings fought very well also. We were lucky to have each other out there. It would have been much worse otherwise things would have been much worse." she said with a nod of her head. She witnessed many Earthlings save her sisters on the battle field, and that was something she wouldn't forget.

She took his hand. "I'm Briella." They didn't really have categories like the Earthling. They all were going to be Amazons, so telling him her aspiration was just telling her what the rest of them were. It was pointless. His confession was one she wasn't entirely expecting. "It is okay, and we have heard many stories of your kind also. But it is stories that have messed our two kinds up. Hopefully this battle helps erase most of these stories and shows the true nature."

“Yeah,” Gaddok said cautiously, “I haven’t been formally introduced to her. In fact, this is the first I have seen of her. Sathe was healing at the camp, so she’s uninjured.” His gaze turned to the earth, “Aminah was on the field. She fought well, but it looked as though she took some hits.” He held out his hands so as to emphasize his reassurance, “She walked here though, so after being seen by a healer she should recover fine.”

Her comments about the battle intrigued him, and had him a little offended, “How is Tendaji more “your” home than “ours”? We both live on this patch of dirt,” he ran his foot through the soil to gesture what he was saying, “Both die on this earth. We bleed for this land… We all do. Why is it you have more of a right to it than I?”

Coming down from his sudden excitement he returned his gaze to the earth, “Agreed, There is bad blood that has festered in this land; in all of us for far too long. It would be nice if all this could be put in the past.” A mischievous grin crossed his face as he glanced up at her, “What sort of stories do your people have of us, Briella?”

Briella smiled happily. So Sathe was a healer was she? It would be no surprise if she was powerful in her magic as Aminah was. The magic should flow through the family. "Yes, Aminah is tough. I didn't think she would be one of the ones lost." than again even the best fell at times. Their own leaders had even been captured, and they were some of the best. Well she could only speak for her leader, but she assumed that all the leaders would be strong, hence their position.

His comment didn't catch her by surprise, it was an opinion that many earthlings had. That was fine, they were entitled to think their own thoughts. Even if they were wrong. "We are born from this land, from Aisha that grows from this earth. You are born from each other." she shrugged. It wasn't a big deal, and she wasn't going to fight him about it. She just gave him the facts and he could choose to understand, or be ignorant.

When he asked of stories she laughed. "Well there is the time that me and one of my sisters returned a shifter woman we found in the forest hurt, and than later we were attacked because they were accusing us of harming her. Many stories like that, of us doing things we never did." she said with a shrug. It went both ways, she knew sisters of hers who had been prejudice towards the shifters so it didn't bother her that much.

Gaddok’s face twisted; partially from confusion, partially from intrigue. People born of Aisha? Aisha was that giant tree thing on the island just past Jauhar, right? Shaking his head he laughed at his own reaction, “My apologies… I didn’t mean to make such a strange face just now. I suppose you must feel the same way I do, People born of people… So bazaar that we look so similar then... You have fingers, hands, feet and toes just as I; yet you are spawned of a tree, and I of an Earthling.” He looked to the earth as he sorted through his thoughts, “So how are you able to tell if your children are truly your own, and not just merely a randomly generated hodgepodge of genes that come from Aisha? Do you call your children your sisters also?” He had noticed a male alkidike also, “And what of the males? Are there many? Are they men at all or just appear as though they are of another gender?”

Scratching the scruff on his face he chuckled, “I sure have many strange questions… Do you have any about us? Or do you observe us enough that you know enough?”

Hearing the story of the Shifter encounter caused his posture to slump, “That… Is one downfall of us Earthlings; we are untrusting, bitter. It appears as though we would rather brand you all fiends and cast you away. I am sorry that happened to you.”

So many questions. He was lucky that she was the one he was asking. She knew many sisters that weren't so happy to share what they considered secrets. Briella was not of that view though, she was very willing to share the facts. Maybe if the rest of her kind had been willing to do so long ago there wouldn't be the same kind of problems that there were in her day and age. Plus his face amused her.

"No it's okay, I figure this is the first time you've heard this. The things you're wondering are some of the things our elders puzzle over. How you come from a different source, yet do have so many similarities. Though we do have enough differences to make it obvious." She was much taller than any earthlings, than their were her eyes and antenna. No although they had a lot of things in common with Earthlings there were a lot of things they had differently. She snorted. "We just know. And occasionally Aisha will give someone who didn't ask for a child one. My own daughter was not given to me in my liking, but she is my daughter none the less. Normally when asking for a child alone, or with a partner, your daughter will look like the two of you. And I call my daughter my daughter, and my mother my mother, but everyone else is my sister." ah the halflings, everyone wondered about them. Even most of her sisters. "Those are halflings. The males are half earthlings, it is possible for a male to be born if an earthling and a sister ask for a child from Aisha." She hoped that she answered his questions well enough.

Questions? She wasn't sure if she had any... "To be honest I'm not sure. Have all of your races always known each other? And are Oban one of you? They look like you do." she said with a nod of her head.

"And don't worry about it. I'm sure there are many times my sisters have wronged your kind." she frowned. It was a sad fact.

Gaddok gave a shrug, “Known each other, or known of each other? I know little of how long any of the races has known one another, but I would imagine it went a little something similar to how we were introduced to your sisters. Eventually borders were established, and the different regions were formed.”

Rubbing the back of his neck gently he smirked, “I’m sure the Oban’s are Earthlings; like Myself, Sathe, Aminah and that Ice girl I carried here… Which is what makes this war difficult for some.” Crossing his arms he leaned against a post and let out a deep breath, “Truth be told I wish I cared a little more. It was hard taking a life, but they want to force a change in my life I am not willing to accept. If war is what it takes; war is what they shall get.”

She nodded. How strange it was, they were all the same but also different. And the same as the Oban's. Why is that the other races were able to meet and be at least somewhat peaceful, however the Oban had to come and declare war at once. They didn't even really try to work out their differences, talk things out. Even her sisters who were born warriors didn't just declare war with the Earthlings. How strange.

She nodded, he would have made a good sister. "I agree with you there, while taking a life was not something I ever wanted to do, it is a million times better than being taken over. I know that my sisters will fight till our last breaths before becoming slaves, and from what I've seen there are many of you Earthlings that feel the same way. I wish there was another way to go about all of this, but they picked a horrible path and now there is nothing to do but fight back."

The thought of Obans taking the people of Tendaji as slaves infuriated him, his face began to glow red from the sudden rush of rage that enveloped his body. His grip on his arms tensed as he began taking slow deep breaths through his nose to calm himself. If any Oban tried to take anyone he loved there would be war… Whether it be him as one man taking on Oba until his body was defeated, or a band of vigilantes that he recruited.

Shaking the thought aside Gaddok aimed to lighten the mood, “So you have a daughter, here, at the war? How did you feel about bringing your daughter to war? I can’t imagine it would be easy for you… Many people were injured or worse in this war, I imagine it would be hard to fight when you were watching out for her.” Though all hands are helpful in war, he knew had he had the choice to bring his theoretical child into war, he would be too distracted to fight.
