Frightday evening! One of her favorite times of the week, and though she often spent that time rolling around in Mac’s room, Hel instead returned home to her cottage. The pumpkin sun was setting, burning a deep orange-red as her familiar landed outside the front porch, and Hel slid from its back with a grin upon seeing her home, and wasted no time in making her way to the front door. She unlocked it with practiced eased, slipped into the entry way and her familiar squeezed past her to make for an immediate bee line to its newspaper nest in the corner of the living room.

“I AM HOOOOOOOME!” The reaper called out, unbuckling her boots as she closed the door behind her. She then kicked off her boots next to the other shoes there, and dropped her bag there as well before she veered off to the kitchen. It was time to make dinner, and Hel never did stop to take breaks, even after a long day.

Mot loved the quiet ease during the day when Hel wasn't home. He used that time for light reading and tasks that would otherwise require uninterrupted concentration. When Hel did come home, Mot was in the middle of his usual cleaning routine. Dusting, sweeping, general cleaning tasks. He was like a tall, skeletal male nanny maid.

"Welcome home!" Mot called back with a bright smile, trotting where the ghoul had kicked off her boots to place them neatly in a row. Never not tidying up after her.

"How was your day? Ready for the weekend?"

The reaper let out a laugh as she caught sight of Mot’s dark head moving by out of the corner of her eye. “Jeepers, Mot!” She exclaimed. “My boots were not that out of line!” Hel teased, rolling up her sleeves as she riffled through the fridge in the kitchen. The reaper had retained her old habits from Amityville, in that she prepared food well in advance for cooking, which saved her a lot of time in the long run. From the fridge she pulled up some beef dumplings she’d made, and set them on the counter, fishing out a pan as well.

“Ah, the usual, today!” She replied. “Nox had me running here and there for whatever odds and ends he does not care to manage himself!” She caklced a bit. “Ya! The weekend is always good, if not a bit quiet!” She was still used to the go go go part of her life. Having down time was sort of…weird.

“How about you, boyo?” Hel called back, slapping some butter into the pan as she turned on the stove.

Mot finally set his cleaning gear aside, letting his braid down from the clip he'd put it up with. Cleaning time was serious business.

"It's good for you to be run ragged. I fear for the house when you are restless." Mot said with humour. He trotted into the kitchen to make some coffee, watching Hel prepare to cook with interest.

"Hmm? Not much planned. I've done a fair bit of work preparing an inventory. It'll be nice to take a break. I think I may take a trip to the city to visit a cafe." Ah how he missed his cafe visits. The atmosphere~ the brew~.

Hel grinned, pushing the butter around as it melted in the pan. “HA! Motty, I had this house built to handle me! It is sturdy and hardy! It can handle me restless! Besides…” She looked over her shoulder at him. “When have you ever seen me be run ragged?” Her grin widened before she turned back to the pot, and nodded her head, and cackled.

“Ha, you are a city boil through and through, ya?”
PostPosted: Sat Apr 26, 2014 6:56 pm

Mot just laughed.

"Yes. Truth be told I am itching to be back to the bustle of city life. I've enjoyed the boonies quite a bit though." He smiled as he looked out the nearby window. "It's quaint. Though it has made me realize I am not the outdoorsman I imagined myself to be back in the day."

Hel dumped the dumplings she had made into the pan, satisfied by the sound they made as they started to fry. She cackled, and nodded her head again. “Ya, I suppose all the cowboils on those …scree vee…movies are…country…but…ah, you will always be a cowboil to me, so you are a city cowboil! The…rugged city frontier for you, friend.” She then wrinkled her nose, and turned, pointing her spatula threateningly at the Grim.

“Also, I do not live out the boonies! The boonies are not of my level of honor!” She then stuck her tongue out at him. “But…at least you have been able to get on your feet! Figure out your path, ya?”

Mot grinned at her, "My bad!" Boonies, quaint cottage of valour and honour. Tomato Tomatoe.

"Yes, sort of." Mot smiled, "I mean, I'm not sure if it will all pan out, but I must try." The Grim poured hot water into a cup with his coffee grinds. Fresh, piping black coffee. "It would be nice. I'm enjoying the peace I'm finding away from Amity."

Hel nodded her head firmly. “Ya. Exactly. You must try…but anything will pan out if you set your mind to it!” She pushed the dumplings around the pan, and satisfied to let them sit for a few minutes, she moved off to the pantry to fetch two large potatoes. Coming back, she started to prep them to be baked, wrapping them up in foil.

The reaper was quiet for a moment, focusing on getting the potatoes ready before she placed them into the oven and started it up.

“…Huh. I suppose this house will be quiet once you move on, ya?” Now that the subject was coming up, she supposed it would be…odd, to be back on her own again. She hadn’t been alone in her cottage long before Mot came, and these past few months had been wonderful with him here, because they just went about their own thing…but now…

Now she’d be on her own for real once he moved out.

“…You are not going to move back to that city where your…your parents are, are you?”

"Awww. will you miss me?" Mot grinned widely. "Because I will miss you. You're a fantastic roommate." Honestly, it had been wonderful to live with Hel. He'd missed her terrible when she'd first left. He soon followed shortly after he graduated.

There would be a definite missing puzzle piece.

"No, Goodness." Mot chuckled, sipping his black brew of joe. "Somewhere nearby HalloweenTown, I think. It's a great place to make a start up business."

“Ya. I will miss having a maid.” She stuck her tongue out at him, just jesting. It wasn’t the cleaning up after her she was going to miss, in fact, she was not going to miss that. She cleaned up just fine thank you very much. She just grinned, leaning against one of the kitchen counters for now, and nodded her head.

“Ah, good then! I can still come visit you when I am in town as well then!” That was rather excellent, actually. “Going to stick close to those you know? I heard Xiu would be there…and Lizzy as well…I think Junko is too…Hrm…” Hel thought about it for a moment before she shrugged. She hadn’t bothered to keep track of a lot of creeple since graduation…fate would throw them all in her path again she was sure.

"Wonderful! It means so much to have all my best friends as close as possible." Mot smiled brightly with cheer in his raspy voice. "I miss them. But I guess we all move on to bigger things. Life is rather strange outside of school."

It would be strange to go back though, too. Life was different but it was also good. "As much as I enjoyed being an unemployed bum at your place, it's time for me to move on too."

“But none of them are the best like I am.” Hel informed the reaper haughtily with a cocky smirk before she turned back to her pan and stirred the dumplings around. “Nothing stays the same forever…ya? Sometimes it felt like school would be the rest of my eternity.” That clearly wasn’t the case though.

Hel nodded her head. “Ya. I get ya.” She opened her mouth like she was about to say something, and her posture shifted as it usually did when she was about to say something, but she paused, and then closed her mouth. She was reading between the lines, and what Mot’s words also meant was they their paths were about to go different ways. This wasn’t school anymore, and they weren’t going to be together all the time anymore and the more that happened, the more it separated what she had come to known to now.

It was bittersweet, and Hel had wanted to say something about that…but being tsundere and all, she didn’t even bother now. She didn’t want to get mushy. Jack no.

“Hey…set the table.”
PostPosted: Sun Apr 27, 2014 4:41 pm

"Never." Mot agreed. Hel was the best of them all. The bestest of besties. Two peas in a pod. Their values got in the way of a romance, but platonically they existed so well.

He saw that. The thing she did when she wanted to say something, but just wouldn't bring herself to do it. Held back by something or another. He'd become very good at catching it. He smirked as she ollied out of it, pinching her butt as a means of punishing her for her silence.

"Yes, mom." He teased, getting the dishes for the table ready.

Getting her a** pinched usually wasn’t no thing. It happened many times before, plus getting full on groped. She loved it…

But here’s how it was different.

It was jackin’ Mot who did it.

Hel’s eyes went wide and she sucked in a breath as she was pinched, and out of surprise she dropped the spatula she had been holding. It clattered noisily onto the counter, and then dropped onto the floor with an even louder clatter. She then slowly turned her head to stare at the Grim.

The air was heavy with silence before she finally spoke.

Mot O’Boyle you cheeky b*****d.”

She stared at him in shock for a moment longer before she finally just burst out into loud laughter, regaining motion as she leaned to pick up her fallen spatula…and then swatted Mot on the a** with it playfully on his way by with the plates. She then dumped it into the sink and got a new one.

“You are going to kill some ladies in Halloween Town, boyo.”
