Oh, the comments gave me such a headache. gonk And I think Google muted me because I replied to too many comments; they probably think I'm spamming. Hitler, no matter what religion he wanted to ascribe to, was not a Jesus-following Christian. sigh~

Most of the viewers are missing the point of the video entirely: first, that had Jesus been alive during the Holocaust, Hitler would've killed him too for being a Jew. Secondly, it wasn't just Jews who died: three million Polish Christians died too, plus other religions [The Holocaust: Non-Jewish Victims]. But they all keep commenting, "how ironic, this video promotes Christianity but ignores that Christianity was a reason for the holocaust in the first place". A so-called "Christian" (Hitler) killing fellow Christians isn't Christ-like. We're suppose to die FOR each other, not take each other's lives.

Quote:
John 15:12-17 (NIV)

12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

Quote:
John 18:11, 36 (NIV)

11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?”

36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”

Quote:
Matthew 26:52 (NIV)

52“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

For some reason the comments are not available for me to read. It is the same kind of arguments I come across when seeing Atheists online making arguments against Christianity. It is an argument that should if the person making them bother to do some research fall on its own unreasonableness.
When you read some of the quotes of Hitler you see that in his mind he equated Christianity and Judaism.

Quotes from Hitler himself (1941-44):

Night of 11th-12th July, 1941:

"National Socialism and religion cannot exist together.... The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity.... Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things." (Bormann 1953, pp. 6-7).

19th October, 1941, night:
"The reason why the ancient world was so pure, light and serene was that it knew nothing of the two great scourges: the pox and Christianity."

21st October, 1941, midday:
"Originally, Christianity was merely an incarnation of Bolshevism, the destroyer.... The decisive falsification of Jesus' doctrine was the work of St. Paul. He gave himself to this work... for the purposes of personal exploitation.... Didn't the world see, carried on right into the Middle Ages, the same old system of martyrs, tortures, faggots? Of old, it was in the name of Christianity. Today, it's in the name of Bolshevism. Yesterday the instigator was Saul: the instigator today, Mardochai. Saul was changed into St. Paul, and Mardochai into Karl Marx. By exterminating this pest, we shall do humanity a service of which our soldiers can have no idea." (Bormann 1953, pp. 63-65)

That's just sad. It should be obvious even from a secular stand point that Hitler wasn't a Christian. At least twice I've seen mention of a "no true scotsman fallacy" when anyone has tried to say Hitler wasn't a true Christian. Apparently Hitler's interpretation of Christianity is just as legitimate as anyone else's. I think I'm getting flagged for spam because of citing the same scripture in multiple replies. (Y^Y)

By the way, these comments are on the YouTube video itself, not the article. Apparently, many people came to the comments of the Jews for Jesus video after watching a reaction video made by a particular atheist (or agnostic?) "exposing" Hitler's ties to Christianity. Hence all the absurd replies/misinformation. She has a pretty big audience and, judging by what they're saying, they're not the type to dig further into her claims.

So, yeah, I'm muted. All I can do is pray and thumb up other people's comments.
Next time, I'll reply only once. Google. stare

They could pull the no true Scotsman fallacy, if Christianity did not have a standard, or if Christian was an arbitrary definition.
As it is though, a true Christian can not be Christian only in name.
There are other requirements. Brave of Jews for Jesus to post this video.
I will be praying with you for them, and also that this will be fruitful. They are probably flagging you to silence you. neutral
