General Information
We are looking for both coloring staff and management staff! We would prefer if you applied for one position or the other, not both.
Rules:

> Please fill out the form in its entirety and to the best of your ability. Any samples provided need to be YOUR art work. Any art theft will not to tolerated. If you base a sample off a pre-existing character, it needs to be of your own creation or a cosplay of a well-known character. For example, you have a custom from another shop, colored by Ted. You can make a sample using the same markings as that custom. Similarly, you won a pet colored by Ted last week, you cannot make a sample using those same markings without Ted's permission. Plus we want to know what you can do and how you treat the templates!
> If you choose to do edits, the line quality and shading needs to be preserved. Everyone has their own style, and we know that, but the sample should flow nicely.
> You will need some sort of photoediting software to be successful in coloring here.
> We should not have to explain our choices each round. However, you are welcome to ask for criticism / suggestions.For Colorists: We are looking to hire full-time, part-time and guest colorists! These positions each have a different amount of work associated with them and you should apply accordingly! Keep in mind the quotas listed here are the bare minimum to stay on staff.
Full-time colorists will be expected to do 4 customs/event adds/freebies OR 2 breedings every TWO months.
Part-time colorists will be expected to do 4 customs/event adds/freebies OR 2 breedings every FOUR months.
Guest colorists will be on a case by case basis and, more often than not, be called on during events! Most likely you will not have a set quota, but when you want to take on extra work you will be given it in rotation and not expected to do more than a part-timer.
Each of these positions will have staff who are allowed to edit and staff who are strictly unedited. If you are hired for an unedited position it doesn't mean you can't work into an edited one!
We also have three levels of colorists: silver, gold, and platinum. All new hires will start as silver staff, which means your work will need to be approved before being sent off. This is essentially to guarantee the integrity of the art our shop creates and most will be quickly moved up to gold.
Payment: You will receive both gold and credits for your work. You will not receive 100% of the gold in all cases, this percentage goes to help pay the non-coloring staff we also need to support. You will receive 100% of bribes and breedings regardless.
Silver staff pay 25% to the shop.
Gold staff pay 20% to the shop.
Platinum staff pay 10% to the shop.For Management: We are looking to hire several people who are dedicated to the upkeep of the thread and moderating the thread and guild. This will be a team effort.
Our current thread and guild management consists of myself and Graceangel, and any problems that you seem to not be able to figure out yourself should be brought to either of us.
Management staff will get a percentage of what the colorists make. So your pay depends on how busy the shop is. A better run and more active shop leads to a busier shop and more pay for you! Management staffers also get credits to use towards creations of their own for themselves or friends in the shop.

You believe it's time to blacklist a certain user based on their behavior as they've had several warnings and have not yet stopped a certain behavior. Later in the day, another of the team comes online and sees you blacklisted someone and does not agree with how you acted. How would you address this situation?

Frequently Asked Questions Q. Do we have to color the line art?
A. From here on, I want all ulaya to have colored line art. So yes. If you have already done an example (or your whole application), and did not color the lines, don't worry. But I do expect that if hired (and in future rounds) you will color the lines. It looks more professional, complete, and unique with the lines colored.

Applying for: Full-time - I would like to do mostly unedited, I can do minor edits but my skills aren't up to complex edits at the moment, though I'd love to grow into them.
Do you have any previous experience in the B/C? If so, where?: I have worked in several shops - but not for some years. Among them: Island of Nikku (colorist), Mysts of Incarnum (owner, manager, colorist, everything - I've sold the lines and someone else has opened a new shop with the same name.), Stymphalian (colorist), TimeMages (colorist), Sacraments of Time (colorist and assistant manager), Katakin Islands (colorist and assistant manager)
Please give two or more references for your behavior: Most of those shops are dead because the owners went MIA, but ElvishSorceress from IoN, and purrrplekitty who became my manager at MoI are still around and could give references.

Here's some moderately recent stuff from when Evocality was hiring [she decided to wait and do an off Gaia thing so I didn't bother re-applying]. You can also look through the IoN Photobucket, the ones I colored should have file names that start with 'Lyda' I think. And here's a layout of what I made for the last Halloween IoN was actively open:

When I first came the the b/c area I stalked Jokoa`, then it disappeared. When it came back, I was aware of it, but didn't have time even for stalking another shop. Now . . . I have time, and I really miss coloring and would like to get back to working at a shop.

Why are you interested in joining the Jokoa` team and what drew you to the shop originally?: I love this shop. I really enjoy coloring and working here would be a dream. Jokoa` was one of my first "big" B/C shops and one of the first where I had a dedicated RP plot going on(Belial and Ren). When the shop drifted away it was a blow. I've been so happy that its come back even if it's been a seasonal thing these past couple years.

Why are you interested in joining the Jokoa` team and what drew you to the shop originally?: Honestly, I've been looking for a place with good lines and a good community and I recognize a number of Soq people in here (which to me = good community lol.) As an artist, I'm always interested in getting into something I like from an art standpoint as well and this seems like a wonderful place. c: I'd love to bring my creativity and experience as an artist to Jokoa and make some new friends along the way.
