Harmony wasn't sure exactly what she was thinking. She and Bo were friends by now, she thought. They'd hung out a few times since they met at Espresso Yourself and she had a few prints from his Dionysus shoot to give him. They were all flattering and it was only looking at them later that let her realize how built the boy was. During the shoot she'd been all business and hadn't allowed herself to recognize that he was pretty hot and that he was naked beneath the purple cloth draped around his waist. She was only concerned with finding the light and posing him just so to catch it. The photographs had turned out rather well, all things considered. She'd gotten an A for the assignment she used them on.

Anyway, she'd invited him over to see the photos and give him her favorites from the shoot but wasn't sure why she was putting extra attention into her appearance. Or why she'd lit candles. Until now they'd been pretty forward in their flirtation but she'd never gotten more than a kiss on the cheek or hand. Maybe he wasn't attracted to her...She shook her head and tried to tell herself that she didn't care if that was the case.

The mint haired girl found herself helplessly stuck between wanting to feel like a woman and being sort of scared what that meant. She was legally an adult, nineteen years old, and lived on her own with partial support from her mom and Tony. It was a strange place to be in, honestly and she wasn't sure what, if anything, she planned on doing about it. She'd never even had a real boyfriend before.

Growing up was confusing.

She lit another candle and waited for him to arrive, feeling nervous butterflies fluttering in her stomach.

For his entire life, Bo had made it a habit of collecting friends in all situations. He could walk into a public restroom at the beach and walk out with an invitation to someone's birthday party. He held the door open for a stranger and returned with a phone number. It wasn't that he was constantly coming onto people, no. Bo just exuded warmth and friendliness in an approachable way that consistently had people, well, approaching him.

Falling in with Harmony had been pretty typical of him. She was cute, fun, and artistic. He could spend hours with someone he had almost nothing in common; it was simple to spend time a person who he had a lot in common with. The Dionysus shoot had been fun, even if Harmony was serious, and the other meet-ups had been similarly entertaining. He didn't even bat an eyelash when they made plans to meet up again at her apartment to check out the photos.

In his typical way, Bo was late. But only 25 minutes late! Which was good for him. (Seriously.) He was wearing a wrinkled orange t-shirt from a hot dog stand where he used to work at the beach in Florida and a pair of loose-fitting gray cargo shorts. His flip-flops slapped every step of the way up to her door. The entire ensemble was capped off by his favorite light-blue hoodie and a braided rainbow headband he wore across his forehead -- picked up from a music festival a year ago. His appearance was not excellent, but it held the same sloppy casual smoothness that Bo tended to radiate in general.

Bo stepped up to the door and knocked a little overenthusiastic pattern. A bag dangled in his hand -- a six-pack of beer. He hadn't really asked in advance if she cared if he brought it. OH WELL.

Harmony had no idea what she was in for. He was late and she'd half come to expect it in their meetings but that didn't stop her from fretting for the full 25 minutes it took him to show up that perhaps he wasn't coming and she was just...naive. Probably a lot of people could say so and they'd probably be right on that count. The mint haired girl was naive in a lot of ways.

When he finally arrived she breathed a heavy sigh of relief and straightened herself one more time before answering the door. She left the photos on the coffee table for him to go through later. For now she just planned on hanging out, maybe watching a movie, and seeing what came of it. Maybe she was wrong about him and didn't know what a play boy he could be.

Then again, part of her couldn't help but wonder if she was right, too...

"Hey!"

She stood aside and let him come in, hugging him only after she closed the door behind him and only then noticing the bag of beer in his hand. She was not a fan of alcohol and not just because she was legally too young to drink it. Her mother would not approve but in an effort to appear cool, and maybe because she had some ideas about the "college experience" she shrugged.

"You can put those in the fridge for later."

She grinned and gave him a short tour of her small apartment. It wasn't glamorous but it was cheap, clean, and hers. When she ended the tour in the living room she sat on the couch and offered the photos up to him for his inspection. They were all quite good, just daring enough to show a little backbone beneath all of her teasing.

"I'm glad you came tonight, Bo. I got an A for those photos."

Bo accepted the hug with a grin, lifting Harmony off the floor a few inches. It was his preferred way to hug, the other person dangling off him. Certainly beat constantly stooping down for people. He passed the beer off to her with a casual and weird, "Coolio, thanks," and then stepped further into the apartment. Hands on hips, he gave it a quick spin.

"Nice digs, like the vibe." It was a generic compliment. Bo was full of them. Plus, it was nice to have friends with nice apartments. They were sometimes strong candidates for letting him crash if his own housing situation fell through, as it did from time to time when Bo became more irresponsible than usual with his finances.

When Harmony passed him the photos, Bo smiled wider, flipping through them slowly as if absorbing every detail. He flopped down beside her on the couch, his arm rubbing down the length of hers. "I am a patron of the arts, I said. And also arts education! My civic duty," he explaining in mock seriousness. The photos eased down and Bo returned his focus to Harmony. "These are killer, Harm, seriously stellar." He flicked her in the arm with the stack of photos.

The arm closest to Harmony lifted up and then draped over her shoulder, a thumb rubbing her shoulder. Bo wasn't really thinking when he did it; he was just touchy. It happened. "Even Dionysus would sober up long enough to enjoy these!"

Harmony laughed as she was picked up off the ground. Those kinds of hugs made her happy, a sudden thrill, and not because she was particularly short, though to Bo she really was. How did a person get so tall? When she was set down again things were comfortable enough.

As he rifled through the photos she watched his reactions carefully as he took everything in. Somehow the light had just found him with her doing remarkably little to encourage his posture or expressions. But the way he gushed made her think that maybe he'd want to do it again sometime and that made her happy. Open ended models, especially ones that enjoyed photography and were, perhaps, a little vain helped with her interests and degrees. And he didn't seem especially concerned about getting naked which was nice. Not that she was thinking about that, strictly, but it was good to have in a repertoire.

"I'm really glad you like them. Those are yours to take. Maybe you can cause a little mischief with them."

It was only then that she noticed his thumb and glanced at it before looking at him, a sort of question dancing in her eyes.

"Mischief? Me? Never," Bo said playfully. "Thanks, they shall make killer additions to my wall collage."

His bedroom was like an artistic serial killer's: photos, clippings, and drawing layered every inch, a patchwork of his scattered brain. Old things often got covered up, and then, years later, when something would fall off, Bo would rediscover an old song lyrics or doodle that would fill him with the warm swell of nostalgia that he liked so much. It was also fun, which helped.

A long, contented sigh escaped his lips as he reclined on the couch. Photos, new friend, nice apartment -- these were all reasons to be Very Satisfied. And it wasn't really difficult to satisfy Bo, in general. He tapped his thumb a few times, not noticing how her gaze moved.

When he felt her eyes on him, Bo glanced down to face her, smiling. "What?" he asked. "You look like you want to say something to me." Captain Obvious.
