She hadn't really wanted to go to the war. She did it because it was the right thing to do. She hadn't been able to see Nyiim before she left, which was hard on her. From what she heard he was on a huge mission that was given to him by one of the leaders of the tribes himself. It was crazy. She was proud of him, and hoped that this time when she got to his village that he would be there.

A lot of her troupe had helped out with the war, so she wasn't alone in traveling back. When they got there she went straight to Nyiim's house, Jania at her feet. Jania wasn't fully grown, but she was pretty close. Once she got to his front door she stopped and looked at it, frozen in him. Oh how nice it was to be back to the only place she could call home.

Bosede's barking was immediately apparent. Not only was this a familiar scent at their door, but there was someone else too! He trundled down the stairs and stopped at the bottom, unable to open the door himself.

Nyiim was short behind, having seen Niadra coming around the bend. He had some many things to tell her. He nearly tripped over the raptrix as he threw the door open. Bosede tumbled out and immediately went for Jaina's rear end, giving her a thorough sniffing. Nyiim followed close behind and offered Niadra quite a display in throwing his arms around her and holding her close.

"I'm so glad you're alright." She had to have gone to war. It would be unlike her to avoid it. He had no idea what she might have done, but it was a relief to see her in one piece. Others in their clan had not been so lucky.

Isala, having never met the young woman, leaned out from Nyiim's shoulder and flicked his tongue at her hair. As Nyiim released her, he was actually grinning. His teeth were visible, even!

"I've been thinking about you."

At hearing Bosede's barking she smiled. This was what she knew, other than just traveling and preforming this was something else that she knew and she welcomed it. When Nyiim opened the door she didn't have time to do anything before Bosede pushed past her to get to Jania. Jania was excited to make a friend and barked happily at Bosede as she tried to sniff him back. And before she knew it Nyiim was embracing her.

"Of course I'm fine. It wasn't like I was actually fighting. I just was there to cheer people up mostly and help when I could." she said with a laugh. He was so happy and it made her even happier to be there. When she finally saw his face there was a smile, a real one too. He was genuinely happy.

She looked up at Isala with a confused face. "It seems I'm not the only one with a new friend." she said as she reached out to touch Isala.

What he said next made her heart stop and speed up all at once. "I've been thinking about you too, I was sad that I missed you when I was here last..." she said with a slight frown.

"Still, things can happen," Nyiim said with a shrug. He wasn't sure what he might have done if Niadra had been hurt. She was no fighter, after all. He turned to Isala when Niadra mentioned the reptile and gave him an affectionate stroke down the nose. It was odd, how domesticated the sailscale had become without regular food. Nyiim had to admit, the poor creature probably knew very little about the outside world.

"I went on a hunt, and this little idiot followed us home. I felt bad for him. I'd never been so close to one before." He almost transitioned the beast from his shoulder to hers before she spoke.

... she had been thinking of him too? How? Had she felt any of the strange things he was struggling with? Her skin seemed so warm in the light...

"I missed you? I had no idea. I was only gone a... week or two. I'm so sorry. I would liked to have see you."

She nodded. He was right, she knew that there was a risk when she went to volunteer to help the wounded. She could have been killed if the Oba broke the lines and got to her. They did break the lines, but fortunately she along with most of the others were able to get away safely. They wouldn't be needed for a little while, which is why Niadra went back home. Well that and she missed Nyiim a lot, seeing all the people together just made her realize that she wasn't close to the person she wanted to be. "You are right, but fortunately all was well for me and the other troupe members that came."

She smiled, as she looked at the little sailscale. "Yes I've seen them before, but never so close. How long have you have him?" she asked curiously. He seemed pretty tame, the wild ones she had always seen weren't so calm.

She shook her head. "No it's already. It was a busy time, there was another troupe here for a little. And than mine left, I was going to stay here and wait for you but than I heard you were off doing something important so I went to do something important to pass the time."

He would have liked to see her? Yes she would have liked that very much as well... But he was busy. It was nice to hear that he wanted to see her, very very nice.

"Did you? I don't think it was especially important to anyone but me, really..." He coaxed the sailscale onto his wrist and offered him out. Would she like to hold him? His claws had been dulled for the sake of his forearms.

"Ah, well. A few months. I've been training, you know. With Geska." He motioned back toward the settlement where the man's home stood. "Then Enki came to send me away. I do hate that I missed you, but I think I've got it." Finally his face turned back up to Niadra, and again he was grinning. "I'm an Archer, Ni'."

She laughed. "From what I understand it was important to everyone. And Enki wanted you to do that. That alone is important." Niadra said with a nod of her head as she stretched her hand out to get Isala. As she sailscale came to her she couldn't help but marvel at it. Jania was enough for her at the moment, but she wouldn't mind one of these one day...

Her attention went back to Nyiim as he mentioned that he had been training. She knew who Geska was, though she was pretty sure that she knew what that meant. When he said he was an archer she was so excited for him. If it wasn't for Isala on her she would be jumping up and down with excitement. "I'm so excited for you! I've also moved up in rank, though I'm still just known as a dancer." she said with a laugh.

"Look at us growing up." she said pushing his shoulder with her free arm lightly with a laugh.

"I'm not sure if it was only a test, but I succeeded either way."

Isala stepped on the young woman's arm and crawled to her shoulder to perch. He was a friendly sort, if not a bit dull. His tongue flicked the side of her head.

At Niadra's mention of a rank change, he smiled and nodded happily. Indeed he was smiling with unusual frequency, even for a conversation with Niadra.

"I can't say I'm surprised," he admitted, "You've always known what you wanted to do, Ni', and you're a wonderful dancer. It took me some time to decide for myself. We seem to be advancing together, though. That's good. I hadn't wanted you to leave me in the dust!"

"Of course you did. I don't think he would have asked if he didn't know you would be able to do the task." she said with a smile. She had the utmost confidence in Nyiim and everything he did. If he had as much confidence in himself as she did, well he would be pretty cocky.

Isala's tongue tickled. She was glad the sailscale wasn't as hyper as Bosede, that would just be messy.

When he said he didn't want her to leave him in the dust she laughed. He was so happy, it was nice. She had a feeling it had to do with him finally picking a path that he wanted to follow. It was one thing he wouldn't have to worry about.

"I'd never do that." she teased. Okay time to tell him what was up. "Nyiim, I'm thinking of staying here for a while." she said a little slowly. She wondered how he would take the news.

"Oh?" That surprised him. He had been so ready to make a decision, and his best friend had turned around and changed everything. He couldn't complain, of course. She had just returned from war. "What about your troupe?"

Without really thinking, he took Isala back and let him perch on his shoulder. The beast was still young and small.

"Not that I'm complaining, of course. I'd love to see more of you."

Bosede suddenly struck a playful pose at his new friend and ran in a circle. Play time, yes?! He had never met another one of him!

Niadra shrugged. "They will go on without me for now. Maybe the next time they come around I will be ready to go with them. I thought for now it would be fun to stay in one place for a little, maybe we can go on those adventures we talked about?" she asked curiously. When he said he wasn't complaining she smiled brightly. It would suck if he didn't want her around, and there was a chance. She was a bit worried he only was okay with her because he only saw her rarely. But he washed away those fears.

Jania was half way behind Niadra, looking at Bosede curiously. She hadn't been around her own kind since she was a pup. She moved to touch her nose to his before running away and striking a playful pose as well. It was if she was playing a sort of puppy tag.

There was a great rumbling of paws as Bosede suddenly broke his stance to run after his new friend. He was glad to have a companion so close to his own size!

Isala, meanwhile, lunged off of his master's shoulder and flew a ways away, up to the roof of their home where he perched, watching everyone below. Nyiim watched him go a moment, struck a bit off-balance by the sailscale's departure, and then turned again to Niadra.

"I wouldn't say no," he nodded. Maybe it was best if they spent some time together at home, to see if they could really stand each other for an extended period of time. Then, if Niadra was ready when the troupe returned, he would go with her. "Do you have somewhere to stay?"

Jania barked again as Bosede followed her. She would get close to him and than dart away again. It was actually pretty amusing to watch. It was obvious that Jania was having fun.

"Good, than it is settled. We will go on adventures, and maybe you can teach me to use that bow of yours." she said curiously. She knew she wouldn't be good at it, fighting wasn't her thing, but maybe she could learn some of the basics? It could be useful.

She watched Isala go. "Will he get bigger?" she asked with a tilt of her head. She remembered seeing them bigger, but it wasn't up close so she wasn't sure.

"My mom said I could go and ask one of her old friends," she shrugged. She didn't know them well, but her mother did and was sure they would house her for a while. "I was going to go by there after I came and saw you."

Nyiim smiled and nodded. Sure, he'd be more than willing to watch Niadra fumble with a bow. It would undoubtedly be the same sort of tragedy if she'd decided to teach him dancing.

"He's still young yet, I think. So he'll grow, just not a whole lot." His gaze had traveled up to Isala, but quickly returned to his friend. It didn't sound like much fun to stay with a friend of a family member. He might have offered to ask Tendo, but that was an even more awkward situation.

Of course, there was another choice. It was potentially very destructive, but needed to be offered or else Nyiim would feel somehow responsible if Niadra's vacation took a turn for the worse.

"You know, you're always welcome to stay with me. I don't have the most elegant house here, but it's big enough for two...or, ah. Five. As it were." His treehouse had undergone a bit of a redecorating since his return to the settlement. There was a grand feeling of moving on in life, and his home was one of an orphaned boy, not a young man. "In fact, I'm considering building one down here with everyone else." He gestured to the ground. His new home would have to be big enough for a family. Some day he hoped to have one, perhaps not now, but a good house built to stand the test of time was priceless.

Niadra nodded. Yes if Isala got much bigger than he would be huge. But she agreed with Nyiim in that he looked young, the sailsacles she had seen were bigger and more rugged. Than again he lived with Nyiim and not in the wild. It made sense for him to be not as battle scared as others.

If she had been drinking anything than Niadra would have choked on it as Nyiim spoke. Stay with him? Sure she had thought of it, dreamed of it even, but never in her wildest dreams had he offered for her to stay with him. It was always her asking in her dreams, something she would never do.

"If it wouldn't be a bother I would love that. I rather stay with someone I know. And if you plan on building a new house I could be useful to have around. I'm not builder, but you'd be surprised how much strength dancers have." she said with a raised brow and a laugh. She couldn't believe that this was happening.
