It was rainy and cold today. Uli for one was very uncomfortable in this sort of weather where as her cousin wasn't bothered by it. In fact Uggi was so busy humming to herself quietly; pressed against her. Uli sighed softly, her golden eyes scanning the area that was visible from under the fallen tree they were currently hiding under. She tucked her vividly marked legs underneath her body, attempting to warm them. This had been their life since they had run away from their pride; while things were chaotic. They had taken their chance. They had run... and now they were miserable.
She shifted slightly; at least they had each other. Which was nice to defeat the loneliness but they really weren't doing well. They hadn't eaten in a while... she moaned quietly; as her stomach growled.
Uggi knew they were in deep trouble but didn't want to admit it. She and her cousin had pretty much failed at being independent and now they were starving and cold and wet. She just couldn't let her comrade down; and was trying her hardest to not seem down about the situation. She leaned closer to her friend and only connection to her old life. She kept humming a soft tune that her mother had once sung to her as a child... back when things were so bad.
Images of her father and her mother and their very unusual and dysfunctional relationship flashed in her mind and she winced. She wriggled a moment and moved closer to her. "Uli... don't be discouraged..." She said softly.

Persikat was on his very first viking. As new blood - and a new member to the pride, at that - Persikat felt as though he had much to prove to the other members of the band. He didn't know any of them, really. They were kind of thrown together by a Captain who drank a little too much, and earlier in the afternoon they'd all gone their separate ways. Persikat was determined not to return to the pride a failure. Whether it be a fat antelope, some shiny whatsits, or a useful thrall, Persikat was going to return to the pride with something - or he wouldn't return at all. An odd scent caught his attention, and Persikat crouched low as he glanced around. The sweet scent was accompanied by a female voice, and Persikat moved as quietly as he could so that he could better hear what was being said. Ahhh, not one female, but two. He could barely make them out tucked beneath a rather fat fallen tree, but Persikat could see them. He remained quiet, intent on their conversation so that he could decide the best way to approach the two - who, by all appearances had to somehow be related.

Uli made a sound in her throat of annoyance and shifted herself again; so her back was against her cousin and she could attempt to ignore her. She shut her eyes, her dark facial mask almost had her appear headless in the dark and dreary light. She couldn't help but be discouraged. Look at them. Skinny. Hungry... lost. They had been wandering for days and days and WHO knows how many days it had been since they ran away from everything they ever knew.
"We haven't eaten in a long time Uggi. We will starve soon." She said simply. Though it was an exaggeration of great heights... it also wasn't a lie. They were useless at hunting. Raised to be pretty objects for males, to coven their beauty and show their status in the pride. She groaned. "We can't hunt... we don't know how." She added with a frown.
They were both unawares of anyone watching them.
Uggi couldn't help but make a worried sound in her throat after Uli began to remind her of how empty their stomachs were. She flexed her legs and stretched them in an attempt to hide her own stomachs angry protests at its emptiness. "Don't talk like that cousin. We can do this... we are of the lines of the great Umo and that means strength!" She said assuringly.
Uli laughed. "Really? And who told you that? Your mother. She doesn't even remember her real family. The vampires stole her when she was a baby; remember! We don't know anything about our heritage... at all."
Uggi made a frustrated look. "Well my mother could remember them because she saw them in her dreams... remember... my moms dreams! Thats why my father had her... cause of those dreams." She added.
"Yeah yeah... those dreams. She foresaw a lot... do you think she foresaw us running away?"
  Uggi didn't answer her.

Persikat wasn't an evil lion. He really wasn't. However, he was well-versed in picking out the faults and insecurities that others had and using them to his own advantage. As he sat there in the shadows listening to the females speaking to one another, he couldn't stop the smile that slipped onto his muzzle. This would be far too easy, and he'd return to the pride with not one thrall, but two.
  Two.
He couldn't see them well in the darkness, but there was something striking about the both of them that became even more lovely when they were together. Persi didn't even know what he'd do with thralls, to be quite honest. At this point, it didn't matter. What mattered was that he would not return to the pride empty-pawed, which was the most important thing to the new reaver.
Stepping forward, Persikat put himself into the light so that he didn't startle the females. He didn't appear to notice them as he sat down in a fat ray of sunlight and began to idly groom himself. He did his best to look as fat and healthy and satisfied as he could. He spent a few moments in silence, grooming himself - and when he did glance over and spot the females, there was a look of utter shock and surprise plastered across his face.
"Oh, hello," he did his best to sound absolutely friendly. If he moved too fast or said the wrong thing, he'd lose them. This was kind of like a game, really. "I didn't see you there."

Uli snorted. "Exactly. Who knows if they were really dreams that were special or not... Though on more than one occasion she was right..." She said thoughtfully. "Either way... it does us no good...' She said with a sigh.
Uggi hated it when her cousin just kept going on and on about bad things and sad things... she got closer to her cousin and began to groom her back lovingly. She then leaned her head against her. "At least we have each other... right?" She asked, looking up with her red eyes alight with hope. "I wouldn't have left if I didn't have you to comfort me." She added. She than began to hum that tune again; a happy one. One that reminded her of home and her mother.
Uli couldn't help but feel comfort from her comrades delicate voice and smiled softly. However her comfort did not last as long as she had liked... a strange lion stepped into their view and began to groom himself. She sat stark still; her golden eyes wide.
Uggi saw him too her her own red eyes were large and frightened and closely resembled her cousins at that moment. Neither of them spoke at first; just sat staring at this stranger.

Persikat watched the two females closely. They weren't bolting, which was a good sign, but they didn't appear to be welcoming, either. He cleared his throat and remained sitting.
"I couldn't help but overhear... you're hungry? It's quite sad that two lovely females such as yourselves are without a protector."
s**t, he wasn't sure he was using the right approach. Well, if all else failed he'd have to club one over the head and drag her off, and while two would be better than one, one was assuredly better than none.
  Gods, but they were pretty.
"I would consider myself lucky to look after you," Persikat continued, a stark and startling honesty in his voice.

The girls didn't know what to do or say. Honestly they had never seen another lion outside their pride before. Especially a strange male. You see, in their home before males had many females under them and it was taboo to deal with anyone else's harem of females. So to them; being approached by a male was very strange and new to them. Especially for Uggi as she had already been given to a male in the pride; whom had been a god. So she seemed especially startled. She looked from this male to her cousin and then back to him.
"I uh.. yes... we are very hungry." She said; her red eyes gleaming. It was sort of novel; this male addressing them directly. "I uh... It is... we used to have-"
Uli gave her cousin a shove quickly to stop her from blabbing too much. "-hey... shush." She said quickly, her eyes narrowing. She didn't want everyone to know anything about this just right off the bat... but then again; she was terribly hungry herself. "It's been us for so long now..." She said with a hint of sadness in her voice....
She sat quietly when his last phrase passed his lips and she couldn't help but look a bit less frightened at his words. Someone to take care of them! "Oh-oh... we really haven't been doing well enough on our own... is it that obvious?

Persikat rose to his feet and took a few steps closer. When one spoke, his eyes were on her - and when the next spoke, his gaze moved to her. The white-maned one was pretty, but there was something captivating about the red eyes of the other.
"I am Persikat of the Stormborn," he introduced himself, sounding rather gallant and almost as if he'd been a part of the pride for quite some time. In truth, he hadn't been there long at all, but the females didn't need to know that.
"I do not have a wife at home, nor do I have cubs. I am just a lone bachelor, to be honest, and if you would come to my pride I would be certain to keep you well fed and looked after."
He couldn't decide which female he liked looking at more. It was quite a predicament.
"You would only need to tend to me and any tasks you might be given. But I would take care of you."

Uli looked a bit more comfortable when the male spoke of belonging to a pride. Apparently being apart of a pride was better in her opinion; than being a rogue. Rogues were scary. They wandered around without a home and a place and it was a frightening thing; those rogues. She looked to Uggi for confidence before she looked to the stranger and perked up. "Well we are perfect wives you see. It just so happened we weren't meant for the pride we once lived in. We had males who adored us but did not appreciate us..." She stood up quickly, her marked legs now out in view.
She gave Uggi a shrug. "And I am done with being without a male. I am simply done." She looked to her cousin.
Uggi couldn't have spoken better words than her usually quiet and sad cousin. She stood as well, her eyes wide and bright. "Oh sir. If you would help us... keep us safe and fed. We would do your bidding. I am also sick of this loneliness and we are no good at being on our own. Sir-" She quickly went up before him and bowed greatly. "-we are good females. We ran from sadness and oppression.. but we are not bad lionesses nor are we bad wives." She looked up at him...

Wives. Well, Persikat wasn't certain that he was looking for a wife just yet, but it didn't slow the persuasive smile that crept across his face. Though, honestly, sharing a husband didn't seem to bother either of the females, which was something that peaked Persi's interest greatly. Many Stormborn took two wives - one true wife, and then a saltwife. It wasn't frowned upon. If nothing else, it was food for thought. This had been the easiest viking capture in the history of the Stormborn, Persikat was certain of it. "I will keep you safe and fed. You will be known as thralls to the rest of the pride. Slaves - but," he quickly interjected before either female could speak, "to me, you will be far more precious than that. No other will touch you. You will find that it is not such a terrible existence, far simpler and more luxurious than living the life you are now."

Even if this male consistently told them that they were not his wives; they would still proceed to act like it. It was their nature. being grateful females as they were. Uggi began to pace around excitedly. Oh, to be taken care of again. To be safe and comfortable and with her cousin forever! Just the thought of it made her dark cheeks warm. "In return; we will be the best we can be. We have many great skills. My cousin is amazing at making pelts. I am the best at singing."
She looked to Uli. "We were trained to be the best we can be. I swear to you."

Uli gave Uggi a grateful and loving embrace before standing before the male with a smile on her face and eyes that gleamed. "She speaks the truth." She smiled. "We will prove to be an asset. We will forever be grateful." She looked to him with a smile. "Oh-well Um... I am Uli... this is my cousin Uggi..." She threw a paw around her cousins neck. "Though she is more like a sister to me."
She then smiled. "And we shall go where you shall lead us."

Persi couldn't have been more pleased. This really hadn't been difficult. He was well on his way to being a strong and respected Reaver. Not only would he return to the pride with thralls, but beautiful thralls who had come willingly - so he hadn't been forced to harm them, which pleased Persi greatly. The thought of marking those beautiful hides did not bring Persikat joy. They were so subservient, so eager to please him. Persi smiled at the two of them, leaning forward to bump his nose against their cheeks while making a content sound. "Follow me," he commanded softly before turning to lead them away.

Uggi nodded her head quickly at the order to follow and couldn't help but smile at her cousin and padding after him.
Uli gave her cousin the same happy and excited smile before speeding up beside Uggi and leaning against her beautiful cousin.
There lives were going be much easier from now on!Fin
