[ This is set after the Assembly ORP and totally before the Mission RP of death .... I'm slow, yes. It has been noted. ]
The road was familiar, worn and commonplace for all those who had stepped foot on the island of Deus. That walk from the gymnasium back to the dorm rooms was like any other, just with the air of a bit of chatter - and probably what Noemi would consider slightly inappropriate touching from Milo (they were hugs, HUGS!)
But as the first floor hallway came into view for the trio, there was a sharp turn and a different path was soon taken. One that might have been there as far back as Hanna had been but not just realized was there but all the same normal for Milo and Noemi since this is where they slept and all.
"Welcome to the Basement ~" Milo announced, once they finally made their way down the stairs, his own steps having a bit of a bounce to them. He probably sounded a bit too cheery for someplace that looked remarkably like a dungeon, which it actually was and all.

The idea that people lived in the basement was one of the many surprising things that greeted Hanna now that she had returned. It hadn't even been 48 hours! She tried to imagine herself 3 years ago coming down here to choose a room. What would she have done? When her class of hunters arrived, they were all told to choose a place on the first floor. It spoke to the sheer size of Deus that they didn't fit there anymore. The stairs gave a bounce to it that made Hanna uneasy. You're safe with me, Adelphe chimed in, strangely supportive. Maybe she was starting to get over punishing Hanna for putting them BOTH back in that pod. I wish I could say the same for myself with you, hmph. Hanna rolled her eyes. So much for getting over it. A watery smell hit Hanna's nostrils. "It smells... wet," she said quickly. Up ahead, a light began flickering. "And creepy. You like it down here?" She stepped over a bit of torn up flooring and continued moving forward.

The only reason Noemi would be touring with the two is because every time she tried to run away, Milo pulled her in those uncomfortable hugs and it was easier now to not run away then to attempt it. Fingers nervously played with each other as they headed down the usual path to the badement. Tobias's room had been the furthest and only room she had explored...In a way. "Si. Some rooms very wet?" Noemi nodded. "Sometimes cold too? No heaters and no lights." She almost...almost was tempted to sneak in her room and just lock the door and they could explore on their own again.

"Ya, got a little worse after the storm." Milo mentioned, adding into their comments about the wetness of the place, "flooded." He explained. So much cardboard had to be thrown out because of it. Much sadness. But, he had rebuilt as much as he could.
"No windows either," Yeah, he was totally selling the place! "But not a bad place to call home," the Sun smiled as he lead the two ladies down the hallway, pointing out his room when they went past it. He'd let the other basement dweller point out her own if she so desired, to add to their tour. And if they wanted to stop, then sure.
"So, you guys had no idea this place was here when you got here, ya?" He turned to Hanna, curiously. Yes, time to start swapping stories.

A nervous energy radiated off Neomi. It made Hanna a bit more nervous. She wanted to see this, right? People lived down here, after all. "I can't imagine living down here," she said quietly. "I mean, learning that you are a Hunter is traumatic enough. Then to be told 'oh hey, come choose with creepy room in this creepy basement is yours'...? Seems like a lot to handle." It occurred to her that she might be being rude. She cleared her throat. "Uh, I mean, it's got a cool vibe. Probably makes you tougher." Hanna was happy upstairs with her window, but she didn't want to take a crap on where Neomi and Milo lived either. "We knew there was a basement," she said, happy to move on to a new subject. "But there were so few of us no one thought there were rooms down there, at least when I was around. I can't tell you how weird it is to see so many people here. We barely filled one hallway on the first floor. To tell you the truth, we were led to people there were all sorts of undesirable things down here, even dangerous things. So I did my best to avoid it like most people." Hanna shrugged. "What was it like when you first came down -- normal, like this? Maybe all they told us was stories to scare us." That sounded about right. Her entire initiation had involved throwing as many curveballs at the trainees as possible and seeing how got knocked down (and who got back up).

"Storm, Hurricanes. Very stable I heard down here though, lots of upstairs hunters rooms? Holes in walls, glass shattering, windows gone." Noemi perked a little, "But easier to light and warm. You have room upstairs?" Noemi sounded a bit jealous but at the same time, she had freedom of her own space. And the basement room she had now wasn't bad since Tobias took the creepy box of shackles out.
"Milo has bars on his door, It is uh...distracting to walk by? He does poses..." She mimicked one of the poses Milo had done once. "But without shirt, very distracting."
"What was Island like when you first came here? Less scary?"

Milo's brows raised a little when he heard from Hanna just how few people had been on the island when she first arrived, he could believe it as some... organizations took some time to gain members but with how many there were now, he couldn't imagine how different things were. More or less chaos? The older Hunters did seem to be rather close, maybe they had more adventures together with how many there were to even send on missions. At least Noemi got her question out, he was honestly curious as well.
He also didn't make any comments on her comments on his posing, just sort of smirked at her imitation and treated it like nothing at all. 'Cause it wasn't really anything at all to him.
"Pretty normal, ya. I guess." Nevermind that he had an iron maiden in his room that he used as a sort of closet, "I think there were a few rooms upstairs available when I woke up but thought this would be more exciting, ya know?" The Sun chuckled as he rested a hand on Noemi's shoulder. "Halloween was the first time we really explored, found some weird bugs that we had to take out." He went onto explain with a hum, "and someone's stash.. Rep's? Was down here, had a lot of bugs we had to clear too." Probably weren't too far from it even. There were some scorch marks on the wall, courtesy of Miss America's flame torch.

Hanna nodded at Neomi. "That's true. My window was shattered when I got back into the room," she said, sidestepping a particularly dirty looking spot on the ground. "103 is me. Though based on what I found when I got back in there, someone was using it as a place to throw parties or just have lots of sex, I'm not sure." Cleaning the stains out was an ongoing project. Wait... Milo didn't have a real door, just bars? Hanna almost asked for clarification, but she was busy cracking a smile at Neomi's posing and the conversation had already moved on. "The Island was pretty similar, I guess," Hanna said. "I mean, I didn't realize how MUCH there was to the Island when I arrived, but I think it was there. We were just kept under a tighter leash in some ways. The fog over the Island was incredibly thick. They warned up not to wander off too far so we didn't. We used to have to journal every day to report on our experiences. Apparently, you guys don't have to do that now." She pictured the stacks of journals in her room. What would she do with them now? "But I had just really started training when I was... well, put back into the pod." A large scorch mark covered one wall. Hanna reached out to touch it. "Bugs and stashes -- that was the worst thing you found down here?" she asked, gazing down another hallway.

"Tighter leash." Noemi murmured. "It is much free..er? How odd." The girl turned to tuck her hands, which usually played nervously with each other in her coats pockets and looked around.
"I came after floods and bugs. No more rooms upstairs, so moved down here." she blinked, "And the dolls!" She added.
"And Shackles, Tobias said there was many dungeon things. A throne rooom...OH! And a pit!" She blinked owlishly, "Tobias said a Pit at the end of the hallways, when flooded, brought up human skeletons. He said he and others had to put them back when flooding was over."

When Hanna mentioned the possible events that might have taken part in her room, Milo gave her a curt little 'oh' and made a face. Because. Yeah. That. Yeah.
Thankfully they didn't stick with that topic at all, no one seemed to touch it and instead went back to discussing the particular area they were in and offering exchanges of experience. "Really thick?" Huh. "For a while it was like, totally gone during my first few months here. Clear skies and everything. And big monsters." The Sun explained as they went past a few more doors, some occupied by hunters while others were left unexplored still. "Got eaten by one." Even then, he still had to laugh. Just a little.
"But nothin' bad down here besides the bugs for me. And the floods. When I got down here we mostly occupied the first few rooms. Looks like people are heading down further." Milo remarked as he noticed another room that belonged to someone. He had never ventured down to the end like Noemi apparently, "so, skeletons down there ya? Or you guys clean them up?" Maybe call it morbid curiosity.akina tokuwa sorry, Wondercon happened

Flood. Bugs. Shackles. Pit. And people were eaten by monsters (and then came back) in her absence? "This is kind of awesome," she said suddenly. "I used to go ghost hunting with my friends back in Maryland. We never found anything half as cool as what this basement holds." A smile crossed her lips. She still liked having her windows on the first floor, but the creep factor of the basement called to the side of Hanna that had always been a little gothic and offbeat. Hanna stopped suddenly and turned to face them. "Do you want to go hunting for creepy things? Person who finds the weirdest gets... I don't know, money or something. Seeing the skeletons could be interesting. There is a cathedral in Rome that is made out of the bones of thousands of people. Bizarre, right?" Yeah, she was babbling, but Hanna was feeling good about doing something similar to what she had liked to do back home.

And this is where Noemi would back away slowly.
"No no no no." She shook her head. "I should go back to room, and do cleaning." Or something OTHER THEN LOOKING FOR CREEPY THINGS. "Yes, I will go back to room and Milo can show you all the things."

"Aa, dude, no way?" Milo smiled brightly as Hanna explained past experiences with hunting those that went bump in the night. "Sibs and I use to go trekkin' through the island when we were kids, grew out of it though." He explained as he crossed his arms behind his head. Though, he was putting it lightly because it was really that his sister got them all in trouble, but eeh. That was like a thousand years ago now.
And now he had to persuade someone to keep on going and share in their adventure. "Aaw, come on Noemi-chan!" Milo exclaimed, uncrossing his arms in an instant to shoot out and grasp her shoulders. "It'll be fun!" Maybe a different tactic? "And we said we'd show Hanna around, ya?" The brunet widened his eyes and furled his brows and pouted his lower lip. Yup, giving her puppy eyes.

"When you were kids?" Hanna asked, quirking her head to one side. As far as she knew, Hunters were harvested from the real world, not raised on the Island. "I don't understand," she said. One hand went to Neomi's arm, gently ushering her to keep moving down the hallway. There was a broken chair in the hallway. Hanna stepped around it, intent on this whole children-on-the-island thing.

Noemi squeaked again as Milo AND Hanna started moving her further down the hallway. There was some really quiet and mild resistant no no no no no.
To which both could ignore and press on with their adventure.
