Kadryn yawned as she sat up in bed. Kirosh grumbled and wrapped an arm about her waist, not awake and not wanting too wake up. Smiling gently she kissed him and detangled herself to slip out.
“D’ya have to leave now?” Kirosh muttered sleepily. She grinned.
“If I don’t leave now, it’ll take forever! Once you wake up you’re impossible to escape from.” She said with a giggle as she dressed. “Besides if I leave now I can make the ferry in time. “
He sighed and propped himself up on one arm. “Is getting some plants that important?”
She leaned in and kissed him deeply before pulling back to dodge his arm as he tried to pull her back into bed.
“Yes it is. I’m not sure how long planting season will last! Beside, the sooner I leave, the sooner I’m home again.”
He mock pouted and sat up. “Alright, I’ll get up too.” He sighed as he stood and stretched languidly. Kadryn smiled as she ran her eyes appreciatively over his body.
“Posing isn’t going to convince me otherwise, handsome.” She said as she tossed a shirt at him. "Tempting though you are." He grinned and wrapped her in a hug.
“Was worth a try.”
“Uh huh,” She said with a smirk. “Get ready fast enough and I’ll make breakfast for you.”
She managed to escape after breakfast with minimal amount of time lost, much to Kirosh’s amusement. Stretching her wings, she decided to walk out of the valley, check to see if any creatures had been through or tried to move in. Not that she wouldn’t mind sharing, but the more dangerous ones couldn’t be allowed too near… especially if there was ever to be children in here. Or if she would be able to bring Avani here to help her. That was in her plans, to get her young friend to come and show her how to garden… and she could show the girl the world for a bit!

As she was leaving the valley, she noticed some tracks. They were recent, probably last night and there were several of them. She didn’t recognize them, but then she wasn’t that big of a tracker. Kirosh tended to do most of the tracking. I should get him to teach me more, she thought as she followed the tracks. I could leave this for him to do, but he looks to be in a lazy mood today and since I’m already here, she grinned. Trotting off, she loosened her mace in its sling. The prints looked to belong to something with scales and claws... and strangely enough it looked to have two feet instead of four paws. If they were peaceful, well she’d have tracked them and knew what their tracks looked like. If they were hostile? That’s what the mace was for! She heard snarls and guttural voices growling in a tongue she couldn’t understand. Her eye’s widened: Ordon’s! It had to be! Kirosh had told her about them, but she’d never seen one herself before. She also remembered something else he’d mentioned: they could use earth magic and ate Magescian and Khehora’s. Definitely not something I want near my house. Best to drive them off now rather than wait for them to leave on their own. Or try to settle in the valley since it’s such a nice spot.
She snuck forward till she could see them. There were only 3; they wore primitive clothing and all had painted markings on their scaled bodies. Looks like a small wingless dragon on two feet, Kadryn thought with a smile. Or a tiny Khehorian! Amused at this she backed up and flared her wings. Since they were rumored to manipulate the earth, best she keep to the air! She silently flexed her wings and leaped into the air; glad for the soft and special feathers her wings were made of. They made silent ambushes so much easier.

From the air she hovered a moment to fix where she’d seen them as she unslung her mace. Flipping over in midair and curling her wings in tight, she dove sharply into the mists that covered the early morning landscapes. She held her mace to her side, ready to swing it out and hit the first Ordon she saw. She grinned as the mist whistled by, leaving specks of moisture on her cheeks until they parted suddenly and she was in their midst before they knew she was there. She laughed as her wings flared out and mace snapped out to hit the Ordon nearest her. A bloody explosion as the mace hit it’s chest, leaving it to gasp out the last of its life as Kadryn turned to the other two. Her mace flicked towards one with surprising speed, but it managed to create a wall in time to block most it. Her long handled spiked mace shattered the wall, but the Ordon was already ducking and preparing the next spell. Kadryn leaped back into the air as jagged rocks thrust from the ground where she’d been standing before. Kadryn flew towards the one that’s called up the spikes, her mace smashing aside the small rocks throws at her by the other. Compared to Samael’s rocks that she’d faced in her battle against him, they were pitiful. A feral grin on her face she twisted and spun in the air, her mace gathering speed as she hit the Ordon head on. It was smaller than her, which was not a normal state of battle for her. But it didn’t matter, she was strong for her size, years of battles and practice with her mace had given her lean body steal muscles, which she proved as the mace bashed through the wall thrown up to block her and slammed into the Ordon behind it. She twirled around in time to batter aside more spikes that the last Ordon summoned. She checked the one she’d just hit, he lay sprawled on the ground with his head caved in and smeared across the ground. Just one more to go; she grinned and tossed her mace up and caught it. It growled at her in its weird hissing tongue and charged. She met its charge with one of her own. She overpowered him and crushed his head in, ending the confrontation quickly.

She found in the camp a lot of cloth. I wonder what they were going to use it for, she asked herself. Shrugging, she placed it in her bag. I’ll use it to practice sewing. She smiled, Kirosh did most of the mending since he had some skill in it, but she wanted to learn too. That way I can fix my own clothes at least! She thought with a chuckle. Cleaning off her mace in the dirt, she slung it back into its sling and flapped her wings. I’ve cleared the only thing that left noticeable tracks; Kirosh can get the rest! She thought as she flew up out of the mists, time to head to the ferry and go see Avani about those plants.
About mid morning the mist was clearing somewhat, not that it ever went away completely, just thinned out a bit. She landed and sat on a tall rocky spire that rose out of the misty sea below like and island. She sighed and rested her wings. She could go on longer, but there wasn’t a need to exhaust herself. As she rested a bit, she ran her hands through her feathers, reordering them and settling them back itno pace. The winds on Ayr always messed them up badly. Though right now the wind was calmer than usual and there wasn’t a storm on the horizon like there had ben the past week. She ate her snack and stretched; preparing to fly off once more when she heard growls below. Peering down, she saw some large shapes moving through the mists. Dragons! She grinned, and they were much too large to be Ayrala’s. What other dragon’s would be here? She half crawled, half flew down the spire until she was closer. Gailli’s? Her eyebrows rose in surprise; I didn’t know they lived here... but then Borgnah’s weren’t supposed to be on Serenia… and it is remote and filled with rocks here. Thinking about it, she figured that it made sense, though the Ayrala’s probably weren’t too happy with them living here! It’s been a while since I fought a Gaili, she though with a grin, in fact I think I’ve never fought and won against one alone. I should see how I fare against them then! She flew back up and prepared to dive once more. These will be tough, she thought to herself, much tougher than the Ordons and far more capable of using the earth to capture me. I shall have to be more careful and definitely not land.
She took a deep breath and felt the exhilaration course through her veins. Oh yes, she wanted this fight, it’d been some time since she could really let loose and rend something… When she opened her eyes, they gleamed with blood lust and a vicious smile curled her lips. Time to wreck some dragons.

Settling her goggles over her eyes, she flew up higher to gain altitude before turning down for a dive. This dive was like the one earlier, steep, fast, and without worry about hitting anything on the ay down. She spiraled down the wind and mist whipped past her, eye’s narrowed behind the crystal lens as they locked on to a target. Large and covered in moss, this Gaili practically blended into the background. She grinned as its head whipped around to stare as her as she slammed into him, her speedy descent halted with a bloody crunch. Her mace got lodged into its neck and she locked eyes with the dying dragon. She grinned as she ripped her mace out, it’s spikes trailing blood and scales to smash it between the eyes, ending the short staring contest. Laughing as her blood pounded in her veins, wanting more blood, more danger, she turned to leap at the next dragon. There were two, but one was too far away so she ignored it for now. There was an enemy before her, one that the berserk side demanded to shred. She laughed as it picked up rocks to throw at her. All those years of smashing rocks for practice and to strength her arms made her mock the one’s they tried to put in her way. It roared as she sidestepped and charged; snarling it dashed to meet her. Kadryn’s mace flicked out and smashed into its slashing claws, its spikes matching the deadly sharpness of the claws and beating them in hardness. They were made of stone and bone; it was steel, imprinted and bound to its holder. She laughed as it howled and pulled back, startled that it’s claws could be broken. Kadryn gave it no time to think, she pounced upon it, grabbing with her hands to hold onto the craggy scales and smashing with her mace in the other. She climbed the Dragon’s side, dodging the rocky spikes it tried to spear her with and the maw that snapped and tried to bite. Laughing maniacally, she reached its neck. The Gaili began to panic: but not for long. The mace shattered its spine, blasting through the thick neck muscle and scales, showering Kadryn in blood as the Gaili stilled and fell. The last one pounced then, raining down sharp rocks and summoning spikes to impale her as it did so. Kadryn merely laughed, mocking it as she stood her ground, mace whirling in a spiked bloody ball of destruction. It too followed its brothers in a bloody death. Kadryn threw back her head and gave a triumphant scream as it fell. As they dissolved into rocky gravel and dust, she took a deep breath and calmed herself down, relaxing the excited muscles one by one, slowly quieting the berserker within. She groaned as the adrenaline went away and she felt the blows she’d taken.
“That’s going to leave some bruises,” she said as she pulled off her goggles to clean the blood of. She smiled as she gathered up the orbs. A fight with a clear win and not too much damage to her clothes!
