Word has started filtering through certain quarters, first in fearful whispers then in hushed conversations. Coded signs have shown up painted on crumbling walls, locked doors, broken streets. There is a Resistance, and it is growing. A meeting, a rally, has been called, for those looking to break free of their forced slavery, for those needing Hope. Be cautious, be alert, but most of all.. be FREE.
The Rally takes place in the basement of a burnt-out shell of an old housing building. The walls drip with liquid soot, the air still thick with the smell of fire and smoke. A makeshift stage has been hastily erected from scraps scavenged here and there.
Renegade paces the rickety stage, relegated to the shadows in the flickering lights of lit candle stubs and a lone jerry-rigged electric lantern set at the front of the stage. His fire and smoke ravaged fur bristling as he waits. Who will answer the call? Who will stand and fight? The young Audio knew his path from the moment he gained awareness. There is an evil in this city, one that brain-washes and enslaves, that oppresses the people. It will not stand.
His fire-red eyes flicker to the pitted and soot-stained cement stairwell, waiting, watching. He believes that others will come. He didn't escape that fire, not really, it still burns inside him every moment of every day. But his fire is one of Freedom. So he waits, and he watches. They will come. They have to come.

Joe pulled his motorcycle up to the curb outside the crumbling building. He peered up at the old housing unit a moment before consulting some scribbled directions given to him by a fellow rebel. The coded messages on the walls were a bit too difficult for Joe to unscramble but luckily he had a few friends in the movement to point the way.
Shoving the note back into his pocket, he swung off his bike and removed his helmet. He wouldn't need his Sniper disguise here. In fact, if he wore it inside, it'd probably get him killed. He locked the helmet onto his bike and headed inside. Tail swishing, Joe descended the stairs and joined the group of rebels as the room began to fill.

It took Theta hours to actually reach the rally meeting, given he had to dog-leg through a lot of rubble to keep his location hidden, but he finally made it. As he slowly dragged himself closer, tired and starving, he felt safe as he noticed the number of citizens and rebels pouring inside, slipping into a clump to tag along. He felt horrid leaving those citizens behind with Proto and Bass, but it wasn't his concern at all.
In fact, it was a sheer miracle Theta actually found this place: every message he stumbled upon on the walls confused him to where he looped around to the same building thrice, which fatigued him even more each time. But there was something that had him follow the right path - the sound of an old motorcycle..

Despite being relatively new to the city--or perhaps, in some part, because of that--Reynard had quickly come to realize where his allegiance lay in the conflict that had broken out in his new home. It was not that he was a die-hard rebel by any means, but he certainly sympathized with their cause more than he did with the other side. As it was, the male decided it would be in his best interests to attend the Rally, taking care to move swiftly and quietly, never letting down his guard until he had reached the basement.
Even then, he didn't relax--not fully, anyways. Standing off to the side, he watched with an unreadable expression as others came filtering in, a number of them looking as tensed as he did. No doubt some of them were nervous at the prospect of getting caught here, but their discontent and desire for change kept their feet glued to the floor.
Although his nose wrinkled at the scent of soot and smoke that lingered in the air, Rey loathed to admit that the smell had gotten uncomfortably familiar to him now. "This city is a mess," He grumbled to himself, shifting his weight from one foot to the other, "The faster we fix all this..."

Blayze stalks slowly into the place the rally was taking place in, shooting scowls at anyone who might be too close to him as he looks for a more empty space to stand, growling every now and then before he finally found a corner to stand in, leaning against the wall. He looked up every now and then, glancing at the door frequently, keeping an eye out for his brother and sister. They were why he was here, after all.

Alec slipped in the back of the rally, hopefully unnoticed. This wasn't his first rally by any means, but he certainly didn't feel like he had friends here. Friends made you vulnerable, weak, distracted. There would be time for friends when the Resistance had won and the Tower fell again.
He ran his fingers along the dripping soot, rubbing it between his fingers and thinking back to the night they had last made their attempt. They had been so close... But it hadn't been enough, and too many innocent people had paid the price. This time they would need to do things right.

Joe made his way over to the refreshments table as he waited for the speech to begin. He snorted when he saw the meager offerings. No burgers or pizza? Who organized this thing?? Snagging a small plate of cheese and fruit, Joe turned to survey the gathering crowd. Not a single babe in sight yet. What was this? A stag party?? With an annoyed flick of his tail, Joe savagely bit into a grape or at least he intended to. The slippery orb went sailing across the room as it flew from his maw. Wide-eyed, Joe didn't wait to see who it'd hit before turning around and innocently slipping the plate back onto the table.

Flareborn entered the rally, looking around for her brothers. She didn't see Alesis yet, but she saw Blayze off in a corner. With a grin, she weaved her way through the crowd, making her way to her sibling. Once she was at his side, she poked his cheek and smiled. "Heya, bro! Is Alesis here yet?"

Blayze sighed a bit as Flareborn poked him in the cheek. She was probably the only one that was able to get away with that, and that was because she was the youngest. The baby of the family. He casts his glance around the room once more, watching the others with caution and suspicion. He'd been about to speak when a grape hit him in the nose. He growls a bit, swiping at his nose and glancing down at the offending grape now on the floor. Letting out a few colorful swears under his breath, he reigns his annoyance in and cages it before glancing at Flareborn and giving a small shake of his head. "I haven't seen him. I'm sure he'll be here soon, though, so I'll watch the door and keep an eye out if you need to get something to eat or drink. Just... don't wander too far away, ok? And don't talk to strangers." Was he being more than a bit over-protective of his sister? Probably. But better to be over-protective and try to keep her safe than to be stand-offish with her and her possibly getting hurt.

Well, its certainly more Audio than Renegade was -really- expecting to show up. Its almost enough to have the normal curmudgeonly young Audio crack a smile. Almost. He paces forward from the depths of the makeshift stage, letting the light fall on his peculiar markings and smoke-hazed fur. Lifting a hand, his voice comes out gravelly and rough, like that of a lifetime smoker, but with conviction and passion.
"First, I want to thank you all for attending this rally. It takes courage to defy the order of what our life has become. To stand up and say 'NO MORE' to the machines and their oppressive creator. He may not hear us yet in his Tower, but he will. More, he will see what WE can do with just a bit ingenuity, hard work, and dedication."
He pauses then, casting his eyes around to each of the Audio, looking for all the world like one of those hard but charismatic Fire and Brimstone types of preachers.
"I am Renegade. I want all of you to know that we are working, working HARD to find ways to repurpose and rig up ways to bring you light," he motions to the jerry-rigged lantern, "clean water, clean food. Warm places to sleep. Without cost, without requirement. Because you have all suffered enough under their thumb. However, if anyone has skills they feel could be useful to these endeavors, we encourage you to step forward to help your fellow Audio. We are building forces to help protect those who need it, accepting the aid of any who wish to join to the resistance efforts."

Alesis breathed heavily as he entered the basement and hurried down the steps. It took all his concentration just to not fall down the stairs. When he finally entered the location, he silently cursed to himself when he saw the charred looking Audio already speaking. I hope I didn't miss too much. He thought as he slowly snuck to one side of the door, hoping not to disturb any one and cause a commotion.

Blayze finally spots Alesis as he walked in, waving one arm to attempt catching his younger brother's attention before his eyes went back to watching the others gathered. He felt his lips curl into a slight grimace at listening to the speech. Hmph... Should I consider offering my aid in helping construct buildings...? I wonder how trust worthy these people really are. He thinks to himself, crossing his arms over his chest once more and scowling again. If either Alesis or Flareborn were to suggest he help out, he'd probably do so.
