These critters are one of the smallest of Tale’s mammals but have thick, nearly impenetrable hides that are hard to tear through.

She had been all over the forests and seen many critters, but she hadn't really gone and seen the ones in Tale. Taking Izsha with her she set off, to Tale. She was sure now that her sister was in love she wouldn't mind Lasarra disappearing for a little while. The tamer was walking around the marshes when she spotted the creature. With a smile she realized that she was in luck, for there was three of the Kuona that she was looking for. She knew that they weren't really animals for taming, they didn't have the intelligence for that, but she still wanted to know more about them. By capturing, and even killing, the animals she would know about how they worked which would mean that she would know more about animals in general.

"Okay Izsha, go to the other side and surround them. Scare them towards me and I'll catch them." she said with a few hand signals to her companion. She had trained Izsha well, perhaps much better than she had trained her other beast, but Izsha was more than just a normal companion. She was also the one part of Ray that Lasarra could always have with her. Plus Izsha was always with her, was her best friend. As Izsha started to move to trap the beast Lasarra got a better look at them. The Kuona were small creatures, and tough looking. They had a thick hide, which wouldn't matter when catching them but it would when she went to kill them. She wasn't sure, but she thought their underbelly would be softer. She would have to gut them.

She knew that she had some time before Izsha would herd them to her so she quietly built a trap, one that was much like the one she had found Izsha in actually. It was deep enough to hold the three of them with some extra room, but not so deep that she wouldn't be able to get them out easily. They were small creatures thankfully, so she didn't have a lot of digging to do. All of a sudden she heard the noise which signified that both Izsha and the Kuona were headed her way. Before she knew it they were in her sights. With her whip out and ready she made sure that they went straight to the trap and not away from it. However she wasn't as careful as she thought she was and one of the small creatures got away. "Izsha go after that one!" she screamed as she pointed towards the lone creature that was scrambling away to safety.

Izsha scrambled away and Lasarra looked down at her catch. Two was still good, even if Izsha didn't get the last one she wasn't going to be unhappy. This was a beast she had no experience with, the fact that she was able to capture two of the small beast made her happy. She built a small fire and waited, it wasn't much time before Izsha was back and empty. The radaku seemed sadden, but Lasarra scratched her head. "It is okay girl, we have two here. That is enough for both research and for eating." she said lovingly to her companion. "You did good." and with those words the radaku was pleased and laid down besides Lasarra, keeping an eye on the two Kuona they did manage to catch.

For a little Lasarra just watched them. Sure looking at them in captivity wasn't the same as watching them in the wild, but at the same time it was a different way of seeing them. she was sure that Izsha was getting restless and hungry, but her companion made no moves to try and eat the creatures. Still Lasarra's stomach was starting to grumble as well so she grabbed the top of one of them. As she guessed the underside was much softer and easier for her to cut into. When she did so she looked around for a little before putting the Kuona on a stick and putting it over the fire. She did the same to the second, not even really bothering to look around. She already knew enough from the first one she killed.

Soon they were both cooked and she gave one to Izsha, it wasn't really enough for either of them but at the same time that wouldn't be their only meal for the day. "Okay girl, let's get going and see if we can find some more animals to eat." she stood up and Izsha did the same, the two of them headed out to find new critters to capture and study.
