It seemed his little 'lesson' worked, for no more roses came to contest him. However... something else came to attack. Shadowstep stared hard as he saw what appeared to be a chair coming at him.

Letting out a sigh, he slowly shook his head, then just rushed on ahead to strike. Whatever. It was still an enemy. And enemies are to be slain.
