 This is severely backdated, as in Leilani's foalhood, but I do not have her foal cert anymore.
I am just trying to flesh out things a bit more as I get their histories in order.mistalina13s Teepee This is a solo RP so no other posts please! Thank you.Note for RP Managers: Colonel is at 100% stats.

There was a time when Colonel felt like his life held no joy in it. He had been property and barely had a life of his own. That had all changed on the day he emerged from the boat with his 'owner' and escaped from the man, bolting toward the forest. Niyol, a crippled Kawani warrior, had found him and in time become his best friend. They helped one another and life improved day by day for each of them. And then one day Daisy stepped a hoof into his life- a beautiful gentle mare than he was more than happy to call his own. They grew close quickly and she soon fell pregnant with foals. But his beloved vanished not long after giving birth, taking two of the baskets with her. He was left with one and from that one emerged his beautiful daughter- little Leilani.
Leilani tottered around on her hooves, laughing and twirling, or at least trying to, to show off the beautiful blue and white feathers Niyol had given her. A string of them hung from her ear and a few from her tail. "Papa look! Papa!" She giggled again and nudged her father's foreleg.
"Yes little Leilei. You look lovely." He leaned down and nuzzled her. "Lets take those feathers out for a walk, shall we?"

"Walk! Walk!" She loved going to nearby meadow to play in the flowers. It was pretty much her favorite thing to do aside from helping Niyol gather materials to build baskets - sure she couldn't carry as much as her papa could but that didn't make it any less fun! The little filly dashed ahead of her papa but not so far ahead that he wouldn't still be able to see her. He tended to get really upset if she ran off on her own without telling him first, though she could not quite understand why and when she had asked once he had not wanted to explain.
Once they got to the edge of the village Leilani paused and let her papa catch up again. He hadn't been that far behind since Niyol wasn't with them today. The two legger was very nice, to her and papa both, but it was hard for him to run so he wasn't able to play games with her as much as she would like. "Should we bring back some flowers for Niyol?"
"Of course." They would probably end up a flower crown for his daughter but it was the gesture that counted.
So they headed for their usual field just a ways into the forest. She knew the way on her own now without being told, her papa had brought her here to play since she was very small. Everything was as it should be when they arrived - an open field full of beautiful wild flowers in all sorts of colors. Leilani laughed and took off ahead again, crashing into the riot of blossoms but it was only a moment or two later that she popped up again. "Papa! Papa!"
Thankfully for Colonel his daughter sounded more excited than scared. "What is it Leilei?" He picked his way through the grass to her.
"I dunno! Never seen it before." Leilani did not take her eyes off the small creature until her father appeared beside her. "Do you know what it is?"
"I do. A rabbit, a baby one. Little, just like you." He leaned his head down to get a closer look and sniffed it. The little one's ears went up and it hopped a little ways away from both the soquili. "Probably just got separated from its mother." That seemed the most likely explanation, they had probably come looking for food.
"A baby?" Leilani cocked her head to the side and snorted in amusement when the bunny hopped away. "Was I ever that little papa?"
"Not after you came out of your basket." The grass behind the baby bunny rustled. It seemed his mother had come to fetch him. "See, he has someone looking after him too."

"Awh." It was good that his momma had come to get him, but it was also bad because she was going to see if he wanted to play in the flowers too. Oh well! At least she still had papa to play with and now that the baby rabbit was gone she turned her attention back to him. "So what do you want to play Papa?"
"How about tag?" That as well as hide and seek were games they played often but the latter wasn't really practical here. Leilani could probably still stay hidden in the tall grass but there was nowhere for him to go which made things all too easy for her.
"Oooh. Yeah!" She giggled and tapped his leg with her muzzle before. "You're it!"
Colonel let her get a fairly large head start before heading after her. "Better run Leilei!"
Once they got a little farther out into the field the grass was more than tall enough to hide a filly. What she did not realize is that her father would be able to easily pick out her path as she tromped through the grass. All she cared about though was playing a game with her papa. They would go back and forth being 'it' for a quite a few rounds before calling it quits for the day.
Colonel had started to head back when his daughter stopped him. "Papa wait!"
"Hn?" He stopped and turned back to see Leilani still standing by the grass.
"Flowers for Niyol." Obviously a very important thing to her given the expression on her face.
"Go pick out the ones you like and I will help you carry them back." She was bound to pick out more than she could carry, like always, but it was the thought that mattered.
