The first artifact that had come into her possession had rarely been useful, and it managed to only be marginally entertaining when it was. Mimsy was not terribly disappointed to lose it, but it did encourage her to do some more research.
Upon her discovery of an artifact that was rumored to be full of spiders, she knew what had to be done.
"Lucky." She took his hand in hers and tugged. "Come on."

It wasn't exactly like he worked far from Mimsy. Same division, same laboratory - most days they were right across the room from each other absorbed in their generally unrelated work.
"Did something happen?" Lucky asked tentatively as he was dragged away from his designs, adjusting his glasses with his free hand.

With Lucky now in tow, Mimsy didn't say a single word until they had walked all the way across the grounds and through the portal. "Nothing," she finally offered. "I have discovered something that I want. You are trustworthy, reliable, and capable. I require your help." 'Please' would have been nice, but she seemed to have forgotten that. Quote: Roll 1-50: The portal that leads to movie theater in the character's world. Kick back and relax, I guess, it's an action flick! Roll 51-70: This portal leads to the neutral ground of the haunted house, in a room that is covered in white and red and suits of cards. Red, smeared paint reads: GO ASK -- but the rest is indecipherable. Roll 71-80: The portal leads to the land of Valentine's. It's very, very pink, and cherubs keep trying to stab you in the butt with an arrow. It's for your own good, they yell, but you should probably skedaddle. Roll 81-100: Congratulations! Your group found the portal! Success! You can now proceed inside.

This was not exactly what her research had indicated, but Mimsy couldn't really complain. It was fairly interesting to find such a creature here.

Lucky couldn't deny that he took pride in being valued, especially by Mimsy, and maybe that was why he didn't immediately object to being dragged halfway across the island and through a portal without knowing what they were actually looking for and where.

Startled, Lucky struck out randomly and managed to make some form of contact with the sawblade.
With a creature that big, it wasn't particularly difficult, just not very graceful.
