The afternoon was a quiet one, with birds singing softly here and there. Her herd was on the move again, and Yuuka had volunteered to scout out the area around them. It was something frequent they did, moving from one location to another in what they claimed as their territory. Though they didn't do much to make this widely known. Kirins. They were not unlike unicorn's in wanting to avoid everyone but their own. Which got rather bothersome at times. And one reason Yuuka volunteered for such things as this. Remaining among her small herd all the time could become rather suffocating and, as much as she did love them, she needed to get out and breathe.
Inhaling the fresh air, the uni-kirin mare gently walked along what appeared to be a small game trail. Rabbit, perhaps? Her quiet footfalls barely left imprints along the trail, head ducking some of the lower hanging branches. The mare paused, ears moving forward as a sound caught her attention. When she didn't see anything, Yuuka took a few steps forward and paused again, listening. And then found herself confronted by a rabbit, who looked rather confused as to why she was on its game trail.
Lips twitching up slightly, Yuuka moved around the rabbit, venturing off the trail and towards an area that appeared to be lighter then the shaded path she'd been on. A clearing perhaps? Approaching silently, the mare moved towards the clearing - or what she assumed was one - though she stayed among the trees for the time being.

How long had Viktor been alone now? The days all blurred together and muddled his already fragile mind. With no one to talk with or anywhere to go, all he did was eat, sleep, and think. Oddly, it was becoming exhausting. Grey eyes stared into his reflection on the surface of the stream. Despite sleeping for the majority of the day, he looked tired and disheveled. His coat was almost as dull as his eyes, and he could feel his bones creak and groan as he moved. He was deteriorating, but it was worth it. Out here, Viktor couldn't hurt anyone. His curse couldn't hurt anyone. As long as the herd that had taken him in as a foal was safe, he was fine. Totally and completely... fine...
He sighed and turned from the stream. He was about to make his way over to his favorite berry bush when a noise caused him to freeze. No... There was nothing out here except for small critters like rabbits and squirrels. Why were there shuffling bushes and hoof-falls coming his way? No this was impossible! With a sharp turn he quickly sped into his cave dwelling and scooted back into the shadows.
"Please leave, please leave," he muttered, eyeing the exit of the cave for any movement.

Her ears perked up as she got closer to the lighter area, the sound of trickling water catching her attention. And when she made it to where there was a clearing in the canopy above, she saw there was indeed a stream. And a stallion. Yuuka didn't enter into the sun, footsteps halting as she regarded him. Though she only managed to get a glimpse before he was scuttling off. That was... strange. The uni-kirin mare frowned, looking around the woods with a little unease. Had he seen something she'd not? But there was nothing.
Frowning and wondering what had seemed to spook the stallion, Yuuka debated with herself on the wisdom of following after him. It really didn't concern her in particular, however if this stallion knew of something that could possibly threaten her herd, well. She needed to go and be sure there was not such a threat.
"Just my luck." She murmured to herself, sighing and entering into the light to follow after him. To her surprise there was a cave there, one she'd not noticed at first. Yuuka did not like the fact it put her at a disadvantage if the stallion suddenly attacked. She couldn't see into the cave very well. So she came up to the side, lowering her head so her horn glimmered in the light as she peered around the edge into the cave.
"Pardon the intrusion, but might I ask you a question?" Her soft voice trailed into the cave, ears flicking forward to strain in an attempt to decipher what he was muttering. "I won't hurt you." She added with another small sigh.
