He already felt like he had been through a battle, and in a way, he had. Running from the Jabberwock might not have required any fighting skill, but the fear that had pushed him forward had taken its toll. He was tired when the stupid plant attacked.
Big clawed at the creature halfheartedly, hopping back and defending himself before he found he was too wide open.

When it tapped him again, Big hit it, hard, moving to where he thought he was out of range.

Brute force. It seemed the most effective solution.
As exhausted as he himself was, the plant was even more so. It toppled the next time he struck it, leaving a heap of cubes behind.

Flush with his victory, Big walked off into the trees. He was worn out, but he didn't think he'd turn away another fight if one happened to materialize.
