The next antagonistic creature he stumbled upon at least had the decency to possess a more fearsome appearance than the first. When it lowered its jaws and snapped at him, the move was expected, and Big countered it in kind.

It was easier to heal up as well, and the boil pulled some energy back into himself the next time the plant hit him, only managing a small jab along with it.

The plant hissed as it chomped at him and Big stumbled back, only just able to curl into a loose ball as he anticipated his foe's next move.

Feeling a little exhausted, Big decided it was time to end things. The plant wavered above him as he darted out of his crouch and dug a deep line into its stem. With a disembodied whine, the beast fell like a tree, disintegrating as it went.
