Shadowstep soon encountered yet another snake. He placed a hand to his head and closed his eye. What was with all these jackdamn snakes in this jackdamn game? Letting out a sigh, he drew out his dagger. No matter. He was just going to need to kill it anyway. And every other thing that decided to get in his way. The snake hissed sharply, raising up to bare it's fangs. While it was making this display, he took the opportunity to attack.

The snake was swift, but he was faster still. While it attacked him, he managed to slip his dagger in under its head to sink the blade in deeply.

The snake didn't like that much at all. Flinching back from the strike to its throat, it soon began to coil up tightly. Its tongue flicked out at Shadowstep before it lashed out at him. The fangs caught his arm, but it gave him ample opportunity to slash it across the eyes. That got it to let go for certain.

Taking a few steps back, he closed his eye and gave himself a moment to recuperate before continuing on with the battle.

The snake was hurting now. He could see that much. It was on the defensive. When Shadowstep got close, it lunged out at him, but soon coiled back up to prepare for counter attacks.

Shadowstep didn't get a heavy hit to finish off the snake just yet. Just another one to weaken it further. He watched it carefully, trying to see the best way to get through its defenses.

And then he made his move. The snake reared up and struck back. This time around, Shadowstep wasn't quite able to land a critical blow. But it didn't matter. His light attack was enough to drop it dead.
