Davey's really starting to hate these plants. He's half tempted to make it his personal mission to eradicate them from the game. (Not possible, he knows, respawning, blah blah. He can try, okay?) At least until the next area appears. The March Hare is deployed as his faithful battle assistant. There's some grumbling in the back of his head when the minipet is summoned. He sighs. It's not his fault that he can't summon his proper weapon in this dream-world, or that Azrael for some reason feels competitive with a bunny. He lands two strikes on the plant before falling back to reassess the situation. Time to change strategy, or stick with all-out attack? His sword slices against a leaf stem, but it's a superficial wound. It doesn't faze the plant, or slow it down. It responds with a beating of flat, heavy leaves. He's feeling lucky to have avoided the razor sharp teeth as he retreats. Shake it off, he tells himself. You can do this. He definitely needs to try fighting in a party. He doesn't get last round get him down. He's careful and precise when he moves this time. What he sacrifices in raw strength, he makes up for in accuracy. It's a fair trade off, he thinks. He sees the plant readying for a bite attack, so he raises his sword into a defensive position. His plan works: the plant snaps it's head forward, but abruptly changes its mind when it sees the sword waiting for it. Dreadpirate lunges in for a quick attack. It doesn't feel like the cut was deep, but it must be somewhere painful because the plant lets out a piercing shriek. It looks almost rabid as it charges Dreadpirate. He quickly assumes a defensive position again. The plant wises up only inches from impaling itself. It yanks itself away, leaving Dreadpirate the perfect opportunity to attack. With one stroke, he severs the plant's toothy head from it's body... stamen, stalk, thing. Whatever. It falls to the ground and then fades away. "Good job," he tells the Hare, who rises up on his hind legs and looks proud. In the back of his head, Azrael sulks loudly. There's no card dropped this time. He wonders if this is another case of victory with no reward, when he notices the number next to his username has gone up. He checks his Pocket Card to access the menu system. A log records that his reward was +25 EXP, which added to his other EXP rewards has raised him up to Level 6. Surely that's high enough to try a dungeon, he decides. Now to find others in his faction who look like they'll watch his back. He wears the default black, gold and red of the Gryphon class, with hat pulled over his face a little further than most. His pale hair is in a ponytail over one shoulder, with a large gold hoop earring in the opposite ear - all in keeping with his obvious theme. For a pirate he seems overly serious, though occasionally a roguish grin can be seen. Has periods of appearing fascinated by his left hand for some reason... Character journal: here
