Free of the maze of trees and away from the whispering lake, Big found himself strolling across a much flatter, emptier area of the forest. There was nothing in its appearance to call up a comparison to the misty plains where he had battled for his Goddess, but something about the area seemed eerily familiar. Maybe Big was becoming more adept at identifying battle grounds. Maybe he was just reacting to the strange fog that was rolling in. Or maybe it was the giant, insane flower toddling through the trees that led him to the conclusion that he was in for a fight.
"BURN!" the thing screamed, even though there was no trace of fire in the area. And if it commanded the element and tried to kill him with it, wouldn't it die too?
The boil backed into the nearest technicolor tree, his mind racing as he tried to come up with some way to fight the thing without a weapon. Just as he was about to retreat again, the flower sped up and smacked him with a leafy fist, cackling down at him.
"Don't... Big said, staring down at his hands with wonder. It seemed that in his hour of need, he had sprouted claws. His jaw set, the boil swiped up toward the flower with his new accessories, inadvertently calling forth an odd, projected menu in his frenzy. Level, job, party chat, deck... what was all of this? He fumbled in his scarf to find the source of the list, his attacker looking on just as curiously. A little light up card dropped into his hand, and suddenly he knew what to do.
"F...fight!"
Three cards appeared in the projection in front of him; two attacks and a heal, of all things. He didn't have time to ponder the implications, he just moved his hands again and struck the creature with the strength he drew from the cards. Some power went back into him too, relieving the dazed feeling the flower's smack had left behind.

There are only a few people he's interested in out of more than scientific curiosity, so if he seems a little cold, you shouldn't let it bother you. Besides being dressed in the default outfit for his class, Big looks like the poster child for some sort of wholesome bread campaign.
"You're not on FIRE enough!" the plant shrieked, smacking at him again. Big countered with another call to strike and another three cards. This time one of them shrouded him in a kind of weak shield, presumably guarding against future attacks.

Once more the flower hit him and once more he hit back. His opponent was beginning to visibly weaken, and even though Big barely felt winded at all, he wondered if he might simply avoid getting struck in the future. If didn't seem likely. The flower hadn't missed yet.

But he did miss the next time he aimed to strike. His hits flew wide, barely touching his attacker.
"Fire, fire, FIRE! DIE!" the flower hissed, dancing in place.

The boil wanted to have a reaction, truly he did, but with the lack of a corpse to explore or spoils of war to collect, he could do nothing but stand there, expression blank.
