Khaladera had only been on Soudul for a short amount of time but she decided that already she rather loved this place. There were some places out there that were just far too bright for her liking but here, it was nice and comfortably dark, there was plenty of food to be had, and it was just... welcoming. She really had no real desire to leave even though she knew that she'd need to go eventually. It was something that she meant to put off for as long as she could though, she was going to enjoy this wonderfully dark world. Currently the dangerous, glowing Merkhora was on the prowl for something interesting to do. She wasn't sure if she wanted to hunt for food or fight for orbs but she figured that it would all come down to what she ran across first. If it was something delicious then she would chase it down for food, if it was a dragon then she would chase it down for it's orb.
Her long tail swished from side to side, her lure bouncing, as she walked along, sniffing at the air. It was interesting, the way that tracking was so different on land. Of course it had taken her a bit of time to get used to a lot of the differences between in the sea and on the land. That was why she was here though, to learn and to get stronger, and that meant relearning a lot of things so that she would be more effective on land as well as in the sea. She'd make sure that she was ready to battle with anything, anywhere... save for in the air she supposed. She wasn't quite built for that.
The Merkhora was walking along, sniffing, when suddenly a scent filled her nostrils and her lungs. It was a scent that she mulled over a moment before lips turned up into a bit of a grin, "Ahhh, it would seem as though I have finally found something to do." She purred, trotting forward so that she could get a look at what exactly she was about to take on. From the scent of it she would say dragon, but the scent was quite heavy. As such she couldn't quite say if it was something close, something big, or if it were something else? She supposed that she was going to have to figure it out. It would be quite interesting given that there was no sneaking, not for her, and not on Soudul. Her body, due to the fact that she lived so deep in the water, it glittered like the night sky, and it was hard to miss in the dark. Khaldera supposed that because of this she had to make up for her lack of any sort of sneaking ability with speed and skill but she didn't mind.
"Alright, let's see what it is that is waiting out here for me." She said as she suddenly started forward at a charge, rushing through the darkness toward where the heavy scent of dragon was coming from... and as she burst forth from the forest she almost regretted it. Instead of finding herself fact to face with a single dragon she found herself face to face with... three of them? Oops. She blinked a couple times, starring up at the three of them, before instantly she set her lure to waving from side to side, hoping to lull the trio of dragons into a state that would allow her to escape so that she could rethink how she was going to go about this. It took a moment to entrance the trio of startled dragons but once she had them in a dazed state she started to slowly back up.
"I will leave you to... whatever it was that you were doing while I reconsider how it is that I am going to beat the three of you dragons." She told them as she backed away from the dragons before she fell back into the woods behind her. While she wasn't a fan of the idea of retreating she was less keen on the idea of getting her pretty hide marked up by a bunch of dragons because she had charged headlong into a fight that she wasn't quite ready for. If nothing else at least she was good at entrancing various, weak minded creatures with her lure. It was blessing given to her clan, something that she was never happier about then this very moment.
Still unscathed she set to planning on her next move while the trio of dragons started to slowly come out of their trance. There would be a lot for her to get ready for, a lot of danger, and a lot that could go wrong but because of the mere fact alone that she needed dragons orbs she knew that she couldn't just run away. Instead she had to just try to figure it out. A lot deep thought, plotting, and planning on her part and she was sure that she would figure out a way to deal with these dragons. For the moment though she was going to have to take it slowly and carefully, to make sure that she didn't get eaten up. Once she felt that she had gotten far enough away that she wouldn't draw too much attention, but close enough that she could at least listen to the dragons, she set to plotting her next move.

Once she was safely back within the woods Khaldera breathed a sigh of relief. Sure, she wasn't completely safe by any stretch of the imagination, it was impossible to be with a hide like hers, but this was better then being out in the open at least. She hadn't been expecting that many dragons out there but now that she knew how many opponents she faced she had a choice, to try to fight them or to try to flee from them. It was a difficult decision to make since she didn't want to appear weak by running but she didn't want to risk serious injury so far from home either. There was so much that could go wrong when one took such a great risk. She didn't care for being out numbered, not by so much, but she supposed given enough time she might be able to figure out a plan. The problem being that she doubted the dragons were going to give her all the time in the world to decide upon what she was going to do next. No, she had to do this quickly, so that she would be ready when the creatures decided that it was time to strike. Alright, what to do... what to do.
The question was, what had she seen? Thinking on it deeply the Diabi found some details coming to her. There were three dragons, one bigger then the other two, one had tears in the membranes of one of its wings, and the third seemed to be fine. So the biggest of the three was likely the leader, the one with the scars likely couldn't fly, and the third one was sort of like the wild card of the bunch. No weakness that could be seen but it didn't have a greater advantage like the one she marked as being the 'leader' did. So which one to deal with first, that became the question. The big one would be slower moving, the scarred one couldn't flee, so that left the third one being the one that should be targeted first. It made the most sense given that it was the one that could cause her the most trouble in the long run. So she would go first, strike out at that one, cripple it in one form or another. Perhaps she should go for a hamstringing technique? It was something that wasn't too terribly useful underwater but here, on land, where walking about was so important it would be quite the blow to the Ysali dragon.
Alright, so she had at least the beginning to her plan she thought to herself as she ducked down low, creeping forward as though she were actually capable of sneaking. It was a worthless endeavor and she was more then certain that they could see her for miles around, but that wouldn't' stop her from getting as close to them in this manner as possible since the crouched position would allow her to launch herself forward. A good, powerful lunge would give her a momentary advantage over the dragons, though it would likely fizzle out the moment the initial shock of the attack wore off. She wondered at the odds of being able to get in a good, debilitating blow in that amount of time. It was really hard to say but she meant to try her best, she wanted to win after all. Not to mention that she really, really wanted the orbs that the dragons were sure to give up were she able to defeat them.
This really had to be the most dangerous part of the path that Khaldera had set herself upon, having to deal with dragons, especially groups of them, like this. It was a dangerous path but one that would be well worth it one day when she obtained a power unlike what many out there could obtain. To become Merkorian, it was the dream of all Merkora, but something that only a select few were able to attain. It was something she wanted and therefore she couldn't really back down from any fight, not even one that had lopsided odds. As such she would need to face the fear that was gripping her instead of letting it hold her back. She had to fight, win, collect her orbs, and then do the same thing all over again as many times as it took! No manner how many dragons she had to face off against she would continue forward so that she could become something great!
Taking in a deep breath she decided that now was the the time to attack, not just because she'd talked herself into it but because one of the dragons, the one that she wanted to tussle with in fact, had started to approach where she was crouched down. It was as she figured, it was quite obvious where she was, but she couldn't let that bother her. She knew that she had a hide that made her obvious to anyone with the ability to see, it was something she had to deal with and get strong in spite of that weakness. Rushing forward the Merkora gave her best roar, something that caused the dragon to jerk back, and then she snapped at it, her many sharp teeth digging into the dragon's hide before she started to kick and scratch at it. Time to do all the damage that she possible could she thought herself. It was a fairly decent attack, one that filled the air with the scent of blood. The moment the dragon began to flail, throwing its head from side to side, she released her hold.
After flying a short distance Khaldera gave another roar, teeth barred, tail lashing. The fight had truly begun and there was no retreating now, not after she spilled first blood. She doubted very highly that the dragons would give her the chance to escape after all. It would be worth it though, at the end, when she got to bask in victory and coo over her orbs.

After Khaldera's initially attack against one of the three Ysali that she had run into, an attack that had bloodied it rather well, she knew that she was in a bit of trouble. She'd put a lot of force into the attack but the dragon was still standing. It was a touch disheartening but at the same time she knew that she couldn't hold back or retreat. She had her chance to do that before she'd made her first move but she didn't really want to run from them. Not only because she didn't want to appear weak but because she also both wanted and needed their orbs. She would win against them so long as she didn't slow down or let them get their claws on her lovely hide. Khaldera lunged to one side when the wounded Ysali came at her, just barely avoiding its snapping jaws.
She gave a snarling sound, her sharp teeth gnashing at the dragon, backing up as it advanced. She meant to do her best against this one, but for the moment she was backing off, wanting to lure this one away from its comrades. If she was able to do so then perhaps she would have a chance to get a one on one battle instead of having to face all three of them at once. One dragon would at least be easier to deal with then all three of them at once. The dragon drew back, gave a great roar, and then lunged for Khaldera. Once more she threw herself to the side, sliding to the the side, her claws leaving gouges in the earth, which caused the dragon's jaws to snapped down on a tree branch instead of her. Despite the dangerous situation she was in she couldn't help but to chuckle a bit as she watched the creature draw back in disgust, spitting out the splinters of wood that were in its mouth.
Khaldera's tail set to lashing from side to side before she said in a growly, taunting tone, "Stupid beast! You really should try a little harder or you will never beat me!" She hoped that by taunting the dragon that she would cause it to leave more openings up for her to attack it again. It was already wounded, sure, but not nearly enough to slow it down or chance it bleeding out. The only way that she would be able to take this one down would be for her to either increase the amount of wounds that she gave to the Ysali or she would need to land a really good, fatal blow. The dragon lunged again, this time charging into her instead of trying to bite down. The blow caught the Merkora in the side before she was sent flying.
Khaldera landed on her side, rolled a couple times, then got up with various bits of debris clinging to her. She shook off as much as she could before giving another growl, "Blech, you got me all dirty you worthless beast!" She snapped at the dragon, displeased that she was such a mess. She could only hope that nobody saw in her such disarray. Once she was done with these dragons she really, really needed a bath she thought to herself before she set to circling around to one side, eyes narrowing, looking for an opening once more. The Ysali was quick to follow suit, the two of them trying to glare each other down, both looking for an opening, both wanting to win this fight. This time around it was Khaldera's turn to attack first, rushing forward, and she lunged, her claws digging into the Ysali's side and she scaled the creature like a tree. While climbing wasn't her strong suit but the adrenaline helped quite a bit, allowing her to get onto it's back.
Once there her claws started to drag against it's back, her long, sharp teeth going for the back of the dragon's neck, doing her best to end the dragon. After a moment though she was once more thrown from the dragon's back... and she landed hard on her side, something that she knew for certain was going to leave her bruised up and aching. She dragged herself to her feet, shaking her head, trying to get rid of of the stars that were swirling around her head. Once she was able to clear her vision she lifted her head, looking toward the dragon that was charging toward her once more, but as it got closer it started to stumble. Once it got closer to her the dragon suddenly tripped over its own feet, landed hard in a heap in front of Khaldera, before it started to crumble away into nothingness, leaving behind a glittering open on the ground.
She gave a purring sound, reaching toward it... when suddenly she realized that another of the dragon was charging her. Damn, the orb would have to wait, the battle wasn't over quite yet, there were still two more angry dragons to deal with. Now that she'd killed one of their group the other two were even more riled up, looking for her blood. She had better not slow down or else she was going to get herself run over she deciding, hurrying to one side, keeping low to the ground. The two dragons were slashing at her with their claws, snapping at her with their jaws, and otherwise trying to get a hold of her. The moment that they did she would be in trouble, as such she couldn't let them close enough to get a hold of him. She would stay ahead of them and be sure to keep her hide intact.

Khaldera was on the move, making sure to stay at least a step ahead of the two enraged Ysali dragons at all times whilst also trying to stay near to where she had defeated the first of them. If she got herself lost she would never find the dragon orb that she had fought so hard to get. If she lost the orb she just wouldn't be all that pleased in the least bit. That orb was special, it marked her first kill as far as dragons went! She had to have it, to add it to the other orb that she had been so lucky to find with some rather foolish and easily bedazzled two-legs. She would go through anything, do anything, and fight anything if it meant that she would one day become Merkorian. Though she supposed with her dazing good looks, or at least her lure, she could forgo some of the fighting from time to time. A shame that the power only first until the first attack though she supposed anything else would make everything far too easy. She didn't want that since this was all supposed to be a learning experience.
Sliding to a halt she cocked her head to one side, listening closely, before charging ahead once more. She could hear it! She could hear water! Meaning that she was going to use it to her advantage! Her maw was twisted up into a grin as she continued her head long charge, making sure to slash her claws against a tree here or there, before she came out of the forest into a clearing. There in front of her was a nice, deep, dark water source and instantly she was diving into it.
Just as the glittering Diabi had gone under the two Ysali burst out of the forest, snarling, their eyes going from side to side, seeking out the Diabi Merkora... but they saw nothing. No sign of the one that they had just been pursuing save for a couple ripples on the water. The two of them sniffed at the air, at the ground, and then set to work searching the area. They knew that she was nearby, she couldn't just vanish or fly away, she had no wings, meaning that she had to be around somewhere. The fact that she was something that was able to literally glow in the dark the fact that they couldn't find her that easily was grating on the pair. It should be easy to spot a glowing Merkora!
From her position under the water Khaldera watched the pair of Ysali, finding it more then delightful when the two of them split apart so that they could each go in a separate direction. It seemed that they were intent upon circling around the water that she was currently hiding in, most likely certain that she had to be somewhere nearby. That meant that now was the time to act! She would see about attacking one of them, likely the one that was unable to fly due to its wing damage. She would attack it, kill it, and get its orb long before the other one was able to stop her! It was a plan that had her grinning, her many long, sharp teeth clicking together with delight. How eager she was to get her hands on those dragons and their orbs.
How wonderful it would be, to add three more of the beautiful, power filled orbs to her collection of them. It would be some time before she was able to get enough of them together for what she needed them for but even orb counted or so her mother had always told her. Swimming along close to the bottom Khalera prepared herself for the battle to come, her heart already thudding with excitement.

Khaldera was moving in for the attack, picking up more and more speed as she went, until finally as she reached the edge of the water she launched herself at her opponent. The dragon barely saw her coming before she was landing on the Ysali's back, claws digging in, her many sharp teeth going for anything she could reach. She set to savaging the dragon with many quick but deep bites, making sure to hit as many separate places as possible. The dragon, while the weakest of those that carried the orbs within them, was still of decent size. It set to thrashing in place, trying to knock Khaldera off of its back but without any luck thus far. If anything the way it was shaking her around only caused her claws to dig in deeper as well as pull harder, causing that much worse of wounds to the Ysali dragon. It took it a moment to realize it and when it finally did the tactics that it was using changed drastically.
Before Khaldera knew it the dragon had dropped to its side, doing its best to roll over onto her, trying to crush her with its greater weight. It was a startling attack, nothing she'd expected, but at the same time she knew that she couldn't let it get to her. She had to continue to fight or else she was going to get beat by such basic tactics! As such she too rolled, onto her back in fact, and set to work kicking at the dragon with all four feet worth of claws. More attacks, more wounds, and more blood... all things that Khaldera liked given that it meant that she was doing well against her opponent. It was a good thing but not one that she saw a reason to celebrate, not when the one she was fighting with was a cripple. The dragon had torn up wings making it unable to fly, meaning it was weaker then the rest. There was no reason to cheer for doing well against a weaker opponent. Still, she would accept the orb that it would give her nevertheless. Weaker or not the orb would still be viable! That was what was the most important since it was the power of a dragon's soul that created the orbs.
As the dragon started to toss and turn, trying once more to squish her she was quick to roll again, making sure this time to roll back into the water, sinking under it. She watched from her hiding spot in the dark water as the dragon flailed about, roaring, snarling, and otherwise kicking up a fuss over its wounds. It was something that called the other dragon right to it... and much to her distaste the bigger of the two dragons set to work trying to heal its injured brethren. It was something she wouldn't allow though! Instead she lunged out of the water again, going for the back of the big Ysali's back leg, her many long, sharp teeth sinking in, tearing at the dragon's vulnerable hamstring muscle, which caused it to become distracted as the one leg gave out. It was more then enough to break its concentration, ruining the spell it had been casting.
That broken spell cost the smaller of the two dearly as a moment later it started to crumble away, leaving behind naught but another of those pretty green orbs. She wanted quite badly to run over to it just like with the last one... but again, like with the last one, she had to wait. There was still one dragon left after all and she couldn't afford to be distracted by the orb no matter how much she wanted to wrap her claws around it. Soon she told herself, soon, but not quite yet. Once the third dragon had been taken care of she could finally enjoy the fruits of her labors.

With the last dragon injured Khaldera saw no reason to retreat back into the water this time. Instead she started to circle around the big dragon, weighting it up, getting a feel for where she needed to strike. This one was a lot bigger then the rest of them, meaning that it's hide was sure to be thicker and stronger. As such she would need to go for the more vulnerable areas on it's body. The wings, the under belly, the throat, anywhere that was softer then the rest was where she had to strike and strike hard!
She kept her glittering eyes open for what it was that she needed... and then she finally saw the opening she went for it, charging at the big dragon, then lunged up off the ground so that she could snap her teeth down on the dragon's throat. It was something that startled the dragon and caused it to react instantly, making it throw its head from side to side hard, something that would be its undoing as it just caused Khaldera to go flying, up into the air, and then down into the water with a great splash. She surfaced, chewing for a moment before swallowing the chunk of meat in her mouth. From her position in the water she watched as the dragon went wide eyed before collapsing to the ground, twitching a bit, before vanishing. She gave a grin before diving under, swimming back to the bank, and pulled herself out.
"Alright my pretties, time to come to Khaldera!" She cackled, trotting over to scoop up the two orbs, examining them closely, then turned to look in the direction she'd come from. Time for her to go and fetch the other orb as well before some stupid fool thought to take what was hers! She couldn't say that she would turn down a fight with a two-legs foolish enough to take what was hers but it wasn't on her top list of priorities at the moment. Not in the same way gathering the orbs was. Purring to herself she wrapped her tail fin around the two orbs and headed in search of the third one, her mood riding high at the moment.
