Kyouya might have looked just a touch amused at being addressed as a prince, given that he was unquestionably a cool-type, but easily solved that particular dilemma by claiming Miss Lu's hand instead of letting the ladies decide. "If you would like, mademoiselle," he said, with a deep bow, and offered to bring her to the dance floor.

He let the music settle in around them, allowing her to get comfortable with him as a partner, and gauging her skill with simple steps first.

Lucina smiled a graciously accepted his hand. After all the dancing she was quick to adjust to Kyouya. "You did a fantastic job setting up the event. Though... I've heard all the Host events are something to behold." As they two danced she only focused on what was in front of her. "I'm really happy I decided to go." The few days before the masquerade was rough for her, but it was just the thing to lighten her spirits.

He nodded, with a quietly-pleased smile. "Thank you; I appreciate the compliment, and I'll pass it along. Everyone helped out getting things ready." Kyouya handled the finances, of course, but the cousins were great movers-of-things, and the twins brilliant costumers, when events were involved. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you'll have the opportunity to attend more of them. It's always more interesting when our guests are involved."

They glided along, Kyouya carefully selecting more complex steps as she seemed comfortable enough with the basics. "How was your time in England?" he inquired after a few minutes. "That seemed like a very quick trip."

"You all seem to work very well together. That's wonderful." She rarely sees such a tight knit groups these days.

At the mention of England she frowned a bit. "It was for my fathers funeral. I was raised there and only moved here at the start of the school year... I love my father but I couldn't stand being there. Just to many memories closing in at once..." Her voice dropped and she mumbled a bit. "The weather didn't help either." She took a moment to adjust to the more complex moves. "I only did what I had to and left..." She felt awful for doing so but needed to in order to keep her sanity.

"Ah, I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to touch on a raw subject," Kyouya apologized immediately and with complete sincerity. "My condolences on the loss of your father; it must be extremely difficult."

The thought of such a loss flickered across his own mind. It surely was just an accident that the lights from the ballroom glinted on his glasses at that moment, deflecting any possible read of his own emotions.

"I'm sure the rest of your family understands," he said quietly. "Everyone grieves differently." Years of living inside the medical industry had taught him that. "Things will be better. Let us help you take your mind off of it for now?" he suggested gently. "We're due up for a boy-band cosplay sometime within the next few days, if you can believe that."

"It's ok. It just means you are concerned for your guests, and I appreciate it." She really did. The club accepted her little quirks and were all wonderful. "It is rough... and scary really. I have large shoes to fill." She sighed. "I was excited when I was younger, but I always dreamt of working with him, not in his stead." She didn't know why she felt relaxed talking about this with Kyouya, it did help her feel better about it though. "The family did understand." Though her excuse was homework and studying, which was already done.

At the mention of a boy band cosplay, a sneaky small smile appeared on her face. The mere mental image made her chuckled. "I'll believe it more when I see it."

That sharp reflection on Kyouya's glasses reappeared, though the dance remained as smoothly confident as it had been. "I have confidence you can do it," he said quietly. "He will always be at your side, ne? All of your life he's shaped who you are. That doesn't just vanish."

He chuckled in return, though perhaps there was a touch of unease under it. "Myself as well. Scheduling for this particular cosplay has been difficult; we've had to move it a few times already. But hopefully my senpai both have managed to get some free time soon."

"No, I suppose it doesn't." That comment made the small smile on her face a litte bigger. She had many memories of her father's and lots of sound advice. And will never forget them.

"Perhaps the world isn't ready for your boy band cosplay. Maybe that is why you guys are having difficulty with scheduling?" Was there a rich of unease behind that chuckle? It should not surprise her. She would be uneasy too given the theme.

Kyouya chuckled with dry amusement. "Someone advised me to have a speedy getaway on standby. I have to admit that there are moments when I think that's not a bad idea." He'd seen what fangirls had occasionally done to their resident pop idol, CC. "At least we've had plenty of practice time; Miss Loki was kind enough to assist us in putting together a dance number in the appropriate style. I expect, if all goes as planned, it will probably be sometime next week. It's always a little tricky juggling all the hosts' schedules."

He offered her a smile, a bit guarded -- perhaps he was still a little sensitive over the whole boy band thing -- and asked, "Should we expect to see you there, then?" It was clear it would get written down in his notebook later; Kyouya kept track of such things.

"Of course, if not for the show, then for support." She gave a warm, honest smile. She laughed at the speedy get away. "Let me know if you need help with security." Lucina was rather strong, simply from her life of lifting, digging and general rolling around in the dirt when she was working with her father. She knew a few things about trap doors and smoke bombs. "Is there any specific group you will be impersonating?"

He offered her a conspiratorial smile in return. "I appreciate the support, though I think it will be all right." Left unspoken was a comment about his family's private police force. Kyouya really had little to fear from fangirls, though he endeavored to keep his personal security detail out of sight; it caused so many more questions than he wanted to deal with, most of the time.

He glanced up at the ceiling as if it would help him avoid that particular question. Nope, it simply stared back blankly. "A group from the nineties called N*SYNC, I believe," he explained, with a bit of a shrug and a wry smile. "Though the costuming won't be an exact replica; that's intended to be more of an overview of 90s fashion."

The shock of the band they were impersonating made her stumble. "N*Sync?" She had to stifle her laughter in fear it would make poor Kyouya feel worse. "Is this something you really want to do?" She could see Honey... maybe Tamaki and the twins. But not Kyouya not Mori. Then again... the hosts did do a lot of things for their fans.

He reached out to steady her from the stumble, and the stifled merriment in her eyes was met by wry self-deprecation in his own. "It's been a very popular request, apparently, and Honey-senpai has his heart set on it." One did not deny the sugar diva too often, or consequences occurred. In other words, a definite unspoken no, it was not something he particularly wanted to do. But he'd been contenting himself with the idea that it could be profitable, and since it didn't harm him ... he'd survive.

"We do take requests from our guests, by the way -- so if 90s boy-band action isn't your thing, make sure you let us know what is, all right?" he suggested.

"I see. Though boy band really isn't my scene, as I already said, I'll be there. I am a woman of my word." She gave an assuring smile. Then thought about a request. "I have heard talk about the other guest wanting to do something for spring. Most of us thought picnics and cherry trees." Lucina blushed a bit. "I still haven't seen the cherry trees..." She paused. "I haven't even been to the schools rose gardens yet either." With all the hustle and bustle she really never had a good look at them.

Kyouya nodded thoughtfully, mulling over the idea. The music had slowed, so he bowed politely to his partner, and offered to bring her to one of the nearby chairs so that they could continue the conversation. "Actually, we had a cherry-blossom viewing over Valentine's Day," he explained, pausing briefly to collect two bottles of water. He offered her one and took the other. "The blooms were quite early this year. But a picnic sounds like a lovely idea, especially now that spring's a bit further along. I'm sure we could do something like that soon."

In fact, it was quite possible it could end up happening entirely impromptu -- such sorts of things happened fairly regularly.
