Taming Tries: 0~~~ Apple Blossom19 So Blivi comes to say goodbye to Avani, but Kin gets stolen in the process! They have to hunt the stray Silx down to save Kin! Step 1: Capture Win: 80-100 (-5 for Khehora, +5 for help from Avani) 80-100 Rolled: 68 Outcome: Failure Words: 364By the time Levi (with his little charge, Avani) arrived back in Serenia, the Diabi Orakovan was utterly pooped. The star show had been worth the exhaustion, but now Levi just wanted to nap for an eternity... He knew Sam would be expecting him home soon, but surely the Gaili could wait an extra day or two (or four or twelve), while Levi recuperated? When they landed in the field full of sheron owned by Avani's family, the Diabi gave the small Orderite an affectionate nuzzle before sending her off to see her mother and father. He promised to sneak by and see her before he left, if she didn't find him again first, that is. With that taken care of, Levi departed into the woods to curl up for the rest of the day.
And most of the night as well, apparently. When Oblivion's ruby orbs opened again, he was shrouded in complete blackness. Most of it was due to the thick trees, but the Diabi found that even after he left the treeline, the sky was still dark. Off in the distance, he thought he spotted the beginnings of a purple sky, where the sun would eventually rise, but maybe he was just imagining things. It seemed a little too early for Avani to be out and about... But Levi was awake, and he needed to be on his way! He'd promised to say goodbye, though...
Well, he'd seen her house. He knew where she lived. So if he just... slunk over there real quick to bid her farewell... Yeah, he'd give it a shot. He could easily get away from her two-legger parents if they spotted him first, anyway. With a shrug, he took to the skies and glided toward Avani's home. From the outside, all seemed dark... Were all of them still asleep? he circled the small building, hoping he could catch a glimpse of anything through the windows. But no luck. Eventually, he settled near one of the windows. No telling where it led. In a quiet, hesitant hiss, he called out, "Avani! Before slinking down into the shadows to wait and see if anyone would answer his call.

It didn’t help that he had to carry her and her belongings as well. She hoped he would keep his promise to say goodbye, she had snuck some dried sheron meat from storage, thinking he would like it. Avani, just waking from her sleep and getting ready for the day, thought she heard her name whispered from her window. She got up from bed, Kin still in her arms and went to open the window to see if something was out there. She opened the window and popped her head out to see what was stirring outside this time in the morning. She could hear the Uruu's stirring and clucking, soon the ruustur crow for Papa and Mama to get up. She was about to move back inside when she saw something move in the shadows. She paused and thought she saw a shape of an animal at the base of the house. She leaned out further to see what it was, forgetting Kin was in her arms. The small pumpkin fell out of her arms and tumbled down into the brushes. Avani gasped as she saw the orange shape then blundle away from the house and towards the forest. She quickly, (and quietly), left the house out the back door, and went towards the spot she had dropped Kin. In her haste she ran smack into a fluffy wall of black. She looked up, and saw familiar ruby red eyes. “Something got Kin!" she said to Oblivion. She felt tears fill her eyes, "Did you see it!?"

Levi's tail flicked as he heard something shift around inside the home. He shrank down a bit farther, weary of it being someone or something he didn't know. When a familiar orange head peeked out, he relaxed, slowly letting himself meld from the shadows. Before he had the chance to greet her, Avani had disappeared from view again, leaving Levi ever so slightly annoyed at her antics. He huffed and hissed out her name again, only for the young Orderite to appear from a nearby doorway. She ran to him quickly, and didn't stop until she had a face full of feathers. Levi hummed in amusement and stepped away to look at her.
She looked... pretty upset. To see him go, maybe...? Oh, no. Just for Kin. That was... her pumpkin doll, right? "Kin? I didn't see..." He'd been a little more focused on trying to get her attention without being seen! But even as he said it, something small scuttled across the ground near them. Even Levi didn't have perfect night vision, but he was well enough off that he could make out the form of a silx fleeing from the sound of their voices. "If it's not here in the bushes, then one of the silx must've taken it! Avani, let's follow this one before it gets too far!"

Avani watched as a critter run from the brushes and took Oblivi's advice and ran after it. She was glad she slipped on her old shoes before coming out, as she felt the rocks under her feet as she hurried after the silx and into the forest. She blinked away the tears forming and hoped Kin wasn't being hurt beyond repair. Poor Kin being abused twice in one week! She would have to lock him up after this! She hurried after what she could see of the silx until in came to a stop by a tree a little deeper into the woods that Avani. Avani stood back and wondered what to do next. She looked around and saw a familiar orange orb near the tree. She felt Oblivion near her, so she looked next to her and saw his red eyes near her face. "I see Kin!" she whispered, "What do we do next?"~~~ 155

Avani took off without another word, and Levi slipped into silence as he silently glided through the air after her. The small four-legged creature was quick, yes, but was still no match for a Diabi Alihora with the shadows surrounding him! With a powerful beat of his wings, he was able to keep up to the silx until it vanished into the treeline. Oblivion landed silently nearby, his claws not making a sound as they touched back to the ground. In just another second, Avani was at his side, and pointing out the squishy shape of her pumpkin plush. He tipped his head at her question. "What do you mean, 'What do we do next?'" He whispered softly. "We go save Kin, obviously!'"
With a huff, he flitted from the ground again and weaved between the trees to land just near Avani's precious object. But as his shadow fell upon it, one of the silx spotted him trying to reclaim the toy. the silx dove forward and snatched it up before turning and bounding away again. Levi growled. He wasn't up for a chase right now. He fanned his wings and pounced forward, landing heavily on the tiny body of the silx. It let out a pained squeak and then was still. Oblivion snorted and ruffled his feathers. He scooped the plush up in his maw and flew back to where Avani waited.

Avani huffed a bit and rolled her eyes as she watched Oblivion go save Kin. It was all fine an good for him to know what to do, but she had never hunted anything down before! But it was all over as soon as it had started, and Kin was safe with Oblivion. She took the doll from him and hugged Oblivion's muzzle in thanks. She moved away hugging Kin and said, "Thank you for the fun at the festival and for getting Kin back." She saw the sky lightening and said quickly, "I got to get back to the house...."It was hard to say goodbye to a friend, and she knew Oblivi was a good friend even if their meeting was a little rocky. "Goodbye." she said hugging him one last time, "Be safe getting home ok?" She moved away from him, and smiled saying "Don't worry, it's light enough out and I can get home safely."She watched him fly up into the trees and then walked home smiling that she would have all the memories of the starfall festival, and that perhaps he would visit once in a while.... She had plenty of sheron meat for him after all.

Levi gave her an affectionate parting nuzzle as she retrieved Kin from his grasp. "It was no trouble, little one.'" He rumbled softly. "You be careful. Keep a good hold on this one.'" He said, motioning to the plush with his maw. "And don't give your mum any trouble.'" He advised. Through the greenery of the trees he could see the sun poking up over the horizon. Avani had left in the shadow of darkness... Hopefully her parents hadn't noticed yet...
He looked up and sighed. The trip home would be long and tiresome, but after having been away for so long, he was actually kind of... eager to see Eowyn's hot, rocky mountains again. "I'll come see you again soon." He promised as he took to the air. "Goodbye, Avani!" Levi called as the looming shadows of the trees swallowed him up, and he was on his way.
