The feeling of another oncoming WACKY weather system prickles your skin. With a feeling of dread, you brace yourself for the effects of… A soothing, balmy breeze. Aaah… This weather effect will remain in play until the next dice are rolled.
1,3
Something glinting over a bluff catches your eye. A burrow in the side of the dune yields a bounty of shining golden beetles! And as they say, lucky beetles mean good fortune (and megabux$$$). Each member of the group has acquired 1 lucky beetle that can be redeemed at the end of the meta for a variety of rewards. You cannot carry any more than 5 lucky beetles total; if you run into this encounter more than 5 times, you cannot collect any more.
A thick translucent blanket of dust appears ominously on the horizon. It looms closer and closer until finally a distinctive wind whips around its waves of sand and dust, creating a suffocating climate for everyone inside of the storm. This weather effect will remain in play until a 1, 3, or 5 are rolled on a D6.
2,2
An overenthusiastic bouncebeast hops into view. You don’t pay it any mind at first, but when it starts to get closer—and closer—you realize that spring is in the air. The lovestruck beast assaults your group! The bouncebeast has 1 HP, but has a +1 to avoid being hit (you will need to roll a 4 or above to hit). Every post in which the lovestruck bouncebeast has not been defeated incurs 1 point of damage to the group (as it wounds the group’s dignity in trying to hump their legs).
The pitter-patter of drizzly rain dot the sand with dark freckles. It’s pleasant at first, but soon the rain picks up pace. A roar of rolling thunder heralds a torrential rainstorm! Soon thick, heavy raindrops coat every surface in sight. This weather effect will remain in play until a 1, 3, or 5 are rolled on a D6.
3,1
Upon encountering a heap of weather-ravaged rubble, you spot a familiar hoppity stump laying on the ground. Whether it’s a sign of the dangerous WACKY weather is irrelevant – any troll knows that bouncebeast hooves bring good luck! Your group has acquired a lucky bouncebeast hoof! The hoof can be used to reroll one dice roll during the meta. When the use of the hoof has been announced, the most recent roll is thrown out and can be re-rolled. The lucky bouncebeast hoof is then discarded from the inventory.
Little pebbles of ice fall in sheets from the sky, and soon the little pebbles feel like veritable chunks of gravel, knives, and a bad case of hypothermia. The ice storm doesn’t seem like it’s going to let up—at least, it looks that way through the blinding shards of frozen awfulness that completely obscure your vision. This weather effect will remain in play until a 1 or a 6 are rolled on a D6.

Passing through the desert, the only thing that is particularly interesting is the grim landmark of a set of lusus bones half-buried in the desert sand. This is not the lusus you’re looking for! Carry on. Look, there’s a little troll skeleton beside them... Aww!

You find a peculiar desert creature snuffling around in the sand! The poor little guy seems pretty bewildered by all of this weather stuff, so you decide to give it a warm pocket to cling onto. Your group has adopted the multi-limbed gerbil! After the meta, each member of the group can bring their own special friend home.
Oh boy was he uncomfortable. Zariah watched the teams seperate and eyed his own with growing apprehension. He was easily the lowest blood of the group.....man did he feel pitiful. He felt like apologizing to them for making them need to babysit him......but he bit that back. He had finally pulled away from Kei for once....he wanted to grow, improve himself and all that....oh but was that ever difficult. The yellowblood he remembered teaming up with for the winter games.....not like they'd exchanged many words....but the tealblood was so quiet and she seemed almost....serious....and the blueblood....he was dressed so.....so.....dapper! He looked like a right gentleman-type. What was he doing slumming with a bunch of rebels? Maybe he just didn't agree with what was happening with the WACKY Weather?
"S-so.....uh, hi!" he said finally, making his best attempt at a nervous grin. "I'm Zariah....s'nice to meet you all," he said, an awkward attempt to break the silence that permeated the air.

Mili regretted the decision to join as soon as she realized all of this would be happening in the dark. Without light, writing was going to be nigh impossible and her team mates would not be able to read it either. Owl mom stood behind her, fluffy and fully prepared to hoot her head off and take the tiny girl back.
Waving, Mili uncapped a pen and wrote on her white board |The pleasure is mine. I am Milieu. |
Who were these plebs? They were his people? The ones who opposed the rule as it was? These commoners? Well- he guessed it made sense. Lowbloods would rebel easier, given the fact that they were just born lower on the spectrum. Still. STILL. They could have at least tried to look presentable. No point in fighting if you couldn't look good while doing it.
Hair tossed back, Lunear adopted a rather arrogant pose. "Lune. That's all you'll get from me I'm afraid. Have to keep some secrets given the ah, situation you know."
Uncolored eyes looked to the vast open terrain. "So uh, nice to meet you all I suppose. Like minded intellectuals." In his mind he added 'peasants'.
Vremea felt a little like a lusus, watching over these kids. Watching them as they talked, Vremea looked down toward them and gave them a pleasant smile. "Hello there. I am Vremea." She recognized the orangeblood from Bloodfest, and patted his shoulder slightly. Where was his sister...? That was strange. They seemed to travel everywhere together, last she saw him. He was a hesitant one, that one... Eyeing the tealblood, Vremea squinted, was that...? "Oh, Milieu!" She said, a slightly surprised expression on her face. She didn't think the girl would be on their side... The rebellion. Even Vremea wasn't sure... And she was so young...
She then looked toward the last one, and stopped there and then, inching backward unintentionally. Oh no, he was... Of higher blood... Her smile turned into her normal pout, restraining herself from getting shocked and running away. He was on their side. She needed not to worry... But his haughty tone was enough to put her off. She adjusted her neck bow, eyeing the highblood with unknowing displeasure. "It is a pleasure to meet you all..." She said fiddling with the hem of her dress— "And, not to pressure you all, but I think we should begin our quest. The dark can only last so long." She lightly touched her retractable scythe, to make sure it was there before looking toward the others. "Let us go." And onward they went.

In the distance, Vremea saw a blanket of dust move close, and instantly, she became paranoid. Was that... Oh no, we are going to be culled by whatever that may be... oh NO... But she couldn't stop now, they had to keep going. "Everyone, please cover your eyes, nose, and mouths!" She said, gritting her flat teeth and pulling her scarf over her nose and mouth, trying to breathe as her hair whipped all over, shutting her eyes protectively and reaching for the hands of the other trolls— they had to stick together!

Mili crept closer to Vremea as they trekked out into the desert. Suddenly the wind began to pick up as a thick blanket of dust and sand whipped against the group. Surprised, but unable to say anything, Mili began to look for a way out of their predicament. Yet the wind buffeting her sides and face was too strong. The little troll could only cover her eyes and pray someone found a solution, and fast.

Like Milieu Zariah crouched close to the older troll, naturally inclined to shy away from the fear of danger.....little to he suspect that as quickly as the sand had come in.....it dispersed! He heaved a relived sigh and looked to the others. "Wow.....that was lucky," he joked sheepishly, "guess we can continue on......wh-why don't you pick a way this time?" he asked the highblood. He'd like that right? The oldest had picked the way towards the storm....it made sense the highest blood among them would pick the next....he hoped the others wouldn't mind his suggestion....

If anything bad happened, Lunear blamed the plebs. Because obviously, it would be their fault. Never his.
Obviously.
"No need to treat me differently. Blood is blood, if anything, my skills and smarts will be of greater merit than the color of hue of what's under my chitin. I just expect you to understand if things turn.. sour I might have to look out for my own skin. The higher the caste the harder the fall you know- and if one where to fall from so high..." He grinned, even if he wanted to scream at the sand in his boots.
"In time someone will need to fill the void you know. If just to maintain some decorum of order." He had designs and plans and grand schemes and also-
He had sand. Sand everywhere.
Even as the elder of them sought to reach out, Lunear was regretting everything. He should have just stayed back, let the lowbloods deal with everything and tag along with some of the high caste parties.
When the sand subsided all the trolls would be greated by the side of the arrogant blue spitting and hacking. "WHY SAND? WHY DOES IT HAVE TO GET EVERYWHERE AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
It was in his food chute and it tasted terrible. "Yes. That's it. I pick where we go this time. No more sand. None. I refuse to deal with sand in my food chute and my boots and pants and my everything."

Walking over dunes and fighting their way through a few tall shrubs and grasses, a tiny hill came into view. Along with tiny lusii who seemed to not really mind the sudden appearance of trolls.
Walking up to one, Lunear picked it up, stared at it and very firmly stated. "See now these are much better than sand."

Mili felt tired already, but they still had a lot of exploring to do. In the distance the shouts and howl of pleasure or pain from the other groups stretched to meet the group as far away echoes. Like ghost songs. Mili shivered and owl-mom cuddled closer.
Well, there was one positive thing. A multi-limbed Gerbil!? If she could, Mili would have squeed. It was so warm and soft and she very much wanted to pet it, but was a little... nervous.. to approach Lune about it. The highblood looked like the type of highbloods Mili wanted to avoid.

Plip. Plop. Plip. Dark splotches began to molt the sandy surface of the desert, as all around the party noticed the rain and, well, felt it. Mili frowned and looked to the sky just as a peal of thunder made her scream, or scream as well as she could. It was more like a muffled grunt sound. Her body was happy to make up for what her little troll's voice could not. She literally jumped in the air and scrambled backwards, katumpfing into owl mom. Yes. Katumpfing. Owl-mom was, and always would be, ridiculously soft and tackling something so soft ould not make a ka thunk or thud sound.
So that sound of trolls in the distance had been rain. A storm began to soak the poor girl from head to toe as she searched for something, anything, to escape this mess.

At first, Lunear welcomed the light rain, it didn't bother him all that much and it would stop sand from getting all up in his breathing face holes.
His welcome ended when the rain decided it wanted to give him a bath. With no soap. In public. In wet sand.
Nothing was dignified in how the tiny blue blood groaned and looked at the other kids with their lusii, wondering why HIS was off just watching from the distance. Batbro was being her usual self. Never interfearing but always watching- just in case.
Apparently, rain wasn't a threat, even if it was a threat to how good Lunear looked.
"I hate rain."
Looking up angrily at the sky he hissed out, "Stop."
And it did.
The blue blood was suddenly wondering if they were being watched by more than just his lusus.

Oh gog.....all this crazy weather was making him so nervous....but he needed it to stop! It was one thing for the highbloods to occasionally be bothered by the insane weather, but on the mountain he and Kei lived on the weather changing so drastically....it could seriously damage their hive! And the amount of work Kei had already put into it....he shuddered to think what else she would do if they had to rebuild!
When the rain finally stopped he heaved a heavy sigh, relieved that they were momentarily safe from the weathers' constant harassment.....until it showed up.......that pure white fur......those beady red eyes......Zariah balked at the sight......while they didn't scare him....he was slightly worried he may see his sister running in to declare she found them dinner. "Wow.....I've.....never seen a hopbeast...." he said in a nervous tone. Most of the animals up on the mountain were more......tough.

Now, after being assulted by sand, getting it in places that never should be known existed, and then having the sky decide it would try to wash that away only to make the sand cling worst and his boots feel like they were now sloshing mud slinging tools of torment, Lunear was very much DONE with this desert.
He missed his hive. He missed his costume. He missed just not having his clothes ruined and being around low bloods even if they were on the 'same' side as him.
As the hopbeasts came, so did Lunear's releif. Certainly, this couldn't end badly. The gerbils had been-
No. Why was it looking at him like that. "Uh-"
It hopped closer. "Uhhhh-"
Closer. "UHHHHHHH-"
It was ontop of his boot. Doing things to it. Ruining it.
Lunear hated the desert.
"Why is this happening to me I didn't agree to thissssssssssssssss-"

Vremea had gotten a bit flushed in the face for having led them astray. She also grew even more flushed from anger in hearing the young blue blood talking. She just wanted him to shut his mouth hole. Stuff something in there. Maybe a sock or something. She didn't know!!! RAEG.
Then they found gerbils, which were ADORABLE and Vremea was so tempted to dress it up... And right after, rain came pouring down, messing up her hair. She groaned— did nature even know how long it took to fix her hair to look so nice? Or her clothes...?? She wanted to kick something...
Namely, the hopbeast on a kids leg. She kicked it off and instantly set on their next direction.

She really wanted to kill something right now. Ugh... Ugh!! Telling the others to be careful again, she began her bundling up before it hit, a frown on her face.
