You're looking for a powerful Alchemist, you say? Why, I'm flattered.
Well, you see, I'm an alchemist. I may not look like much, but in the science of muting one thing into another, 'looks' aren't often an adequate judge of power.
What shows power is skill. It's all here, in my head; this is what makes me a powerful Alchemist.
But of course, getting this far wasn't easy. The Rules of Alchemy are very specific, and bad things happen if you break them. You can't get something from nothing; you require an equal price for your creations; and transmuting life... well, that's a nightmare waiting to happen. Rule of thumb-- don't try transmuting living creatures. I'm sure you've heard stories. Chimeras in agony that request to be killed and refuse to eat, or Alchemists losing limbs or even entire bodies to the Gate.
Sometimes, though, such a price comes with a... boon, I suppose. the knowledge to turn your whole body into a circle, to transmute with your hands... or your feet. Whatever limbs you may have left.
... Hmm? You want to know what I've done to get this ability? Since I appear to have all of me intact and whole?
Well, I'll be frank. Death comes to us all.
I was just learning the art of Alchemy when I had been approached by a man who was mourning the loss of his wife. He requested the greatest taboo known to the rules of Alchemy-- bringing someone back from the dead.
I refused, as any wise practitioner would. I turned to dismiss him from my shop when I received a sharp hit to the head.
I woke up in a very dark, dirty, and bloodstained basement. Turns out I was no the first this whacko had gone to get his wife back to life, and his basement was littered with their bodies. They were piled up up against the walls, some missing limbs, others missing bits of their faces; I'm sure I don't need to get into any more detail then that. The sight makes me shudder even now. And the stench!
Anywho, the guy put a gun to the back of my head and forced me to draw the circle. I did so, thinking quickly about how I was going to escape from my rather dark... sticky... and smelly situation. I asked him if he had the components for a human mody, and he had; he had the mixture memorized from and already prepared from the multitudes of other alchemists who had tried and failed before me.
So I drew out the circle, and I got an idea; I told him that if this was going to work, we'd have to try something... different. He would not merely be a spectator this time; he'd have to be within the circle himself and go in to find his wife on his own.
I wasn't surprised when he fell for it. He stepped inside the circle and I started the transmuting process.
All I could do was watch as he disintegrated before my eyes.
And then I found myself being dragged into the gate.
I saw it; I saw it all. The tons of information, swirling and whirling about me. I couldn't hope to comprehend it, but I had no choice but to understand. It was all a grand paradox, I saw--!!
Sorry, I get a little worked up when thinking about the Gate. I could go on for lifetimes about what I saw in there, and I still couldn't convey all of the information in my head.
Anywho, once the Gate spat me back out, I woke up back in that dark, bloodstained basement again. I... I felt no pain. I was still intact, if perhaps a little more crazy for it. The desperate, stupid man was gone, dragged through the gate in pieces. There was however a big bubbling mass of flesh and ooze right infront of me, with mouths and teeth and eyes in unnatural places-- it looked straight out of a horror movie. Needless to say, I scrambled backward rather quickly.
After that little fiasco I... well, I went and buried each poor victim of the man's insanity. I survived when the others didn't, and every year I hold a moment of silence for them all. Even the insane man I tricked into stepping into the circle.
Of course, I've been working hard since then. I've refined my circles (when I need to use them) improved the quality of my transformations, everything. I'm probably one of the most successful alchemists you'll ever find. But hey-- don't you go trying what I did. I don't know why I was lucky enough to survive with all my limbs intact. I don't know why I was lucky enough to survive at all. I still get dreams... nightmares...? About that basement and the Gate.
Be careful. And stick to non living things.

Finally, after months of travelling I have reached the Ivory City. Here, far from the land I was raised there is a place for me to start over. As head Alchemist of Prince Jasper the third, there is little risk my former employees will find me.
You have no idea how grumpy the noble people become when a minor accident collapses a few of the bearing walls of a small castle. It wasn't even my fault, if their king had not insisted to apply my concotion before I had a chance to properly test it none of that would have happened.
But here, in this new city I feel safer, here I can continue my work in peace, and maybe some day become known as the greatest alchemist of all time.
That'll show them. Then they... Hang on... Bubbles? There shouldn't be bubbles in this... And what's that popping and crackling sound...

These are actually two sisters both raised by the same small village of magicians and alchemists; they were apprenticed out to different masters and started to follow different methods of training with their respective teachers.
One followed her master into the sunlight and the brightness. She learned to push her power and skills using her own dedication and force.
The other followed her master into the moonlight and the darkness. She learned to follow her power and skills in her dreams, and to let them weave their own kind of magic.
Two very powerful alchemists with two extreme opposite schools of thought.

After years of research, of studying old scrolls as well as new age theories, I embark on what will be a most interesting journey. Not a journey over land or across seas, but the journey of learning and practicing an ancient art of science and magic. I can only hope that my knowledge will be enough to keep me alive, for as wonderful as this craft is, it can also be deadly.
This is my beginning to becoming an Alchemist.
Stripped Stripes
Tired to Craft a Formula and it blew up in my face. Magic my cat looking down to see what catastrophe happened this time. LOL.
Cat refuses to me by my side as different formula's are tried out. Guess he got caught in one to many of my mishaps, and feels safer upstairs looking down. rofl But with perseverance I am getting better.
Misfortuned Checkmate
An Alchemist shaded in a hue of the same Blue that initiated her first step into her Alchemy Journey... Once an Aspiring Alchemist who is now a fully fledged Level 10 Alchemist!

You are welcome. I was going to give an interesting story to go along with the tektek, but I think that would be a bit much.
