I like a variety of games, myself. I've been dabbling in horror games lately, but I also enjoy games like Kingdom Hearts (so excited for 3!)

Also excited for the Sims 4 coming out. ^-^

I'm an RPG nut.
I sometimes play Final Fantasy, though mainly to find those little gems of plot and characters (those random encounters get tedious). I play the ones with little/no plot to understand later references and for series completion's sake. Tales is still my favorite by far.
Kingdom Hearts is pretty good!
I'm also looking forward to my next Mass Effect trilogy playthrough. That's another freakin' awesome series.
I branch out a bit into other genres, such as stealth action (Metal Gear, Batman: Arkham Etc.) and such, but my favorite genre is still the RPG.

The stories behind RPGs are so theatrical and refreshing. :3
I also like darker games like Dishonored and Bioshock, and I've been playing a little bit of Assassin's creed lately.

Not to mention the art in RPG's (especially character design) are so fanciful and aesthetically interesting.

Indeed.
If you like darker RPGs, perhaps Dragon Age would suit you. It's a sort of dark fantasy.
How is the rest of the Assassin's Creed series? I found the first one (the only one I've played so far) okay, but not quite enough to write home about. I've heard that the Ezio trilogy is much better.

I never really got into the earlier ones much either, but I have also heard that the Ezio triology was better, and I've also heard mixed feelings about III... But IV has been fantastic so far.

As a lot of the others here I'm an RPG fan, with the Tales series as my front man.

Others include:
Digimon Series
Elder Scrolls Series
Persona Series
Pokemon Series
Rune Factory Series (...Oddball)

But I enjoy most game genres. The exception to that is FPS, I tend to avoid most of them. stare Not that I don't like 'em, I just find em to be a dime a dozen the last while.

Like several other people here, I am quite fond of the Final Fantasy series as well. It used to be my favourite series of all time. Not so much now. Still enjoy it a lot though.

Others include:
Elder Scrolls Series
Fallout Series
Half Life Series
inFamous Series
Dragon Age Series
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
Batman Arkham Series
Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2

I am intending to have a go at both Mass Effect and Dead Space. I have definitely heard that Mass Effect will be a game to my liking.

Ni No Kuni, eh? That has to be the second-longest game I've ever completed. Well done (assuming you also have, that is)!
Anyway, yes. Mass Effect is great. How's Knights of the Old Republic? I'm waiting for it to go on sale on Steam.
Anyway, if you end up liking Mass Effect, I can also recommend Alpha Protocol. It has somewhat similar gameplay and choices.
Speaking of recommendations, I 'm guessing from your Tales collection (intro thread!) that you have a PS3. I can definitely recommend Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, then. That the HD release of the game that got a few of us, myself included, into the series. Oh, and also its good-game-but-poor-sequel sequel.

Anyway, welcome. Sorry for the wall of text, which pretty much translates to "YESSS."

Yes, I loved Ni No Kuni! I have not finished it completely yet though. I have just completed the main storyline. I think it was difficult for me to not love the game though. Outside of games, I am a big fan of Studio Ghibli. This made the animation style and atmosphere of the game so pleasing. I will definitely go back to it at some point. Although as I had a break from gaming for a few years, there are a lot of games out there for me. Indeed I played a PS3 for the first time last year!

Yes, I own a PS2, 3 and 4. Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is one of the games I am excited about for this year. Although I am waiting for it to go on special. There is a NZ website which I like purchasing games off that can have some amazing specials for games. I got Ni No Kuni, Tales of Graces f and Tales of Xillia at heavily slashed prices.

I quite liked Knights of the Old Republic. It is definitely noticable though that the second one is incomplete. It results in it not really giving you a feeling of closure at all. Consequently the first one has a way better end game.

Thank you for the welcome. smile

You are welcome, good sir.
Anyway, Chronicles is on sale this week on PSN for about $20, in case that's the sort of deal you're looking for. Hmm... What site is this that you speak of, anyway? It sounds interesting.

Oh sweet, that is exactly the sort of deal I am looking for! Will just need to create a US account. Thank you!

Mighty Ape is the website I was referring to.
