The Van was fixed, running and ready to go. Hell, Marcus was even so confident enough to say the damn thing practically purred when he started it. Money well spent in his opinion. What wasn't money well spent was the requested invoice for yet another repair of windows in the death leader's office, as well as in that particular hallway. It cited 'previous lack of proper installation' as a reason for the fact that all the windows were now broken. Not to do with how someone just might have been throwing hunters through them like they were goal posts. He liked repairing, he didn't mind the changes in what to fix but after so many times sitting and standing and fixing those windows over and over and over- It just became a chore. A chore that he was getting annoyed with doing. He'd done some research, gotten a rough price quote, asked around. He had a small few sheets of paper clipped to a clipboard, pen attached, form for fund allocation and approval all neatly ready for one thing. The signature of either the lead or assistant. He'd been told nothing of any past attempts to do this but hey it was worth a shot. lizbot Text to Edith: The Van has been cleaned, repaired, and is now functional for off island missions and training exercises. I'd like you to come review it for a final inspection. I also have a proposal I'd like you to look at. I'm down at the Garage. Marcus also had started the icecream machine prior. Today's softserve? Sriracha with lemon.

Edith strolled into the garage wearing flipflops and a baseball cap, a slim jim hanging from her mouth; and a suspicious expression on her face as she eyed first Marcus, then the van. "So it runs?"

"It runs." He felt it only proper to offer her the keys- now complete with a small moon key chain on it. "You can test it for yourself if you like, but I try to keep the engine and everything off when it's on island. The generator in back is temp runic right now, to show how it functions as far as some of the gear back there. The actual generator is just off to the side. No point in wearing the stuff down in a place where it's not designed to be run." Marcus opened the driver side door for her. "I kept costs to a minimum. Same upholstery, same dash, most of the work was just replacing or fixing things that had worn out from being on the island. I made sure it could hold runics if the need arose, but, no way to maintain or replenish a charge."

The held up her hand to the keys, shaking her head, "Not allowed to drive, aggression issues. So I'll take your word on it. We'll house it in civilian areas, so make sure all runics are out before you take it over, just for now. There's a lockdown on our tech, since organizations other than ours are showing up with them," Edith gave a small grimace but clambered in to inspect everything. The lead didn't seem unhappy with what she saw, and when she stepped out, asked, "Which urban base were you planning on using it for?" There was a pause an she added, "Be sure not to pick one near a school."

Aggression issues. He wouldn't have guessed, but maybe he'd just been extremely lucky. Or when he heard 'aggression' and paired it with a leader of a division he picture more... trainee and hunter throwing types of aggression. Which was it's own matter. "I've heard. Plus runics attract.. unsavory individuals in general. Rainbow paint or not, most people won't give a van much of a passing glance in the right areas." He went around the back, climbing in to get both himself and Edith sriracha and lemon icecream cones. "LA. I debated with Manhattan Island but for personal reasons LA would be better. California is a large state, lots of urban cities separated by a few hours, plus a van with..color wouldn't get that many odd looks. Lots of promo vehicles are often around cities like that. As for near a school- I'm not interested in problems." Emerging with the red chili flecked ice cream he offered her one of the cones. He offered no explanation only the flavor. "Sriracha and lemon."

Edith stared at the ice cream, then flicked her eyes back to the van. "Yeah, far far away from schools. And parks." She of course, took the treat and nodded with approval at the flavour, and didn't object at all to the fact that the moon patrol van had been equipped with an ice cream maker. "S'good though. Know what this needs? A pickle."
She took another bit and nodded sternly, gaze going distant. "You'll need to set up the roster for this, make a guide for our trainees. Figure out the hotspots you'll be dealing with," the lead was already walking off, likely to the nearest fridge with pickles. "I'll expect your first report next week, Hasan!"

He was ready to let her go when he remembered the second part of calling her out- the project proposal. "Ah, wait Miss Carr!" He ran after her, ice cream in one hand, folder in another. "While I haven't tried it with a pickle and have no input on that I do have input on an ongoing issue." He looked towards the main building, namely, the section that routinely had window replacements done. "On a regular basis we're requested to either fix or replace the glass or the complete window fixtures in a certain office on a certain floor due to certain circumstances which I don't feel like they require me to even name." He spoke with a certain mixture of annoyance and apathy. "While we're usually getting reimbursed for our work, it's a waste of time and resources- So I came up with a modest proposal on how to possibly remedy the situation." He offered the paperwork. "Aquarium, or, high strength 'glass' might cost a bit more starting out, but if it proved useful, it would be a long term investment. I checked on how durable some manufactures are and they look promising. Even if they might fail what occurs in that particular office, it would be worth looking into for the life labs or the outposts. However, those would be part of case by case basis. My main outline is for the one we regularly have issues with." How to say: I am sick of ******** replacing Caelius's office and hallway's windows; a novel.

Edith took the paperwork and nodded, "I'll look it over. It'll probably just make him angrier than usual." The lead's lip curled up and there was definite amusement in her voice. "Worth taking for a trial run, at least."

"You'll have that report on your desk in the next week Ma'am. And thanks again for giving me this chance." He nodded at her, took a bite of his icecream, then debated about maybe how well it would work with fried pickle chips- give it a crunch.
Meanwhile Dis was wondering if perhaps his hunter had gone insane, or, really was just that bored that he would feel the need to try such things.
