Maybe he did have the balls to walk on two feet, that didn't make him a man though. If anything the word 'coward' summed him up quite nicely right about now.

He was trembling uncontrollably as he reached out, oh how ridiculously pitiful he must appear right now. Worse yet, what if he was there? He had been avoiding him too. He couldn't risk him sensing it - smelling it on his pores. Like a mother bird just knowing when its nestling had been tainted by the touch of a human and leaving it to die in the wilds. Al in all honesty feared the same fate for himself.

Thoughts spiraled at this point, a full on nose dive into disaster. His eyes glazed over as he looked into the invisible nothingness. So much horrible could come from this, every possible horrible outcome played over and over in his head. It was an accident really, perhaps even his subconscious when he finally moved - no, tripped - but really just fell over into the door with limp thud.

The thud was loud enough to make Jordan look up from the notes he was collating on the desk. It sounded like someone had fallen against the door. Knowing the dorms, it was entirely possible that someone had either passed out or died in the hallways. Jordan briefly contemplated letting someone else deal with it. Then he sighed and got up.

He was a little surprised to see who it actually was, and surprised again a moment later when he took in Al's expression. The kid looked like a kitten that had just had a bucket of water poured over it, pathetic and miserable, upset, yet somehow resigned to his awful fate. "Hey," Jordan said. "What happened?" He stepped back from the door, motioning for Al to come in.

Al looked up at Jordan from the heap he had made against his door. At first he was unmoving, hesitant to proceed further. But he was welcomed onward, not an order but close enough his gears began to turn. He slowly rose to his feet, took a step in the right direction and froze.

"Is it just you?"

Jordan blinked at Al. "It's just me," he confirmed, and the slight edge of what-did-you-do in his expression got a little stronger. "You're a wreck, dude. Sit down." He pointed at the couch and padded into the kitchen to start the coffee maker.

It took him a few moments to collect himself enough to move over and take a seat. He melted into the chair, relief finding its way onto his face. He swiveled his head around in search of Jordan.

He spoke to him despite his disappearance into the kitchen, "you remember that thing we sorta talked about a long time ago?" His description was rather detailed and useful.

"We've talked about quite a few things, and sort of talked about another few things," Jordan said dryly. Coffee maker started, he moved back across to make sure the door was closed. Al's expression and the direction the conversation was taking suggested that the kid wouldn't want anyone to hear this, accidentally or otherwise.

Once he'd done that, he returned to take a spot on the couch, placing himself at a right angle to where Al sat; easy enough for Al to meet his eyes if he wanted to, but not awkward to look elsewhere. "You're going to have to get a little more specific. Coffee will be ready in a minute," he added.

Al swallowed hard and immediately looked down at his hands as he entwined his fingers nervously. His breathing sped up. This was it, his only chance to figure this out. Move forward.

"Remember when we were hunters but like... grew up together? In a weird dream thing?" Was he even there? It was like strange surreal memories these days.

Jordan frowned, confused for a moment. Then he realized what Al was talking about. "The thing on New Year's Eve?" he asked. "You're talking about the shared dream?" He rested his elbows on his knees, watching Al's face closely. Al was obviously upset about something. Conflicted, maybe. Had he seen a version of himself he didn't like?

"Yeeesss that's the one," he confessed. He looked towards Jordan and upon realizing that he was staring right back quickly looked down again.

"W-well something happened there," he covered his face with his hands. His skin was burning hot. "Something different from reality." He felt his own temperature rise as his face shifted to a more hot pink hue. "Like. Really different."

"Uh huh," Jordan said patiently. He studied Al's expression, noting the steadily intensifying blush. "Have you ever experienced a shared other world before?" he asked, gently.

"Nooo..." Al trailed off with a throaty whine. "It just.. it feels like a memory." He lifted his gaze finally and removed a hand from his face to look Jordan in the eye. "I had more things... ish. More than usual I mean."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 12, 2014 1:50 pm

"It feels like a memory," Jordan said, "but it's not your memory. That's a different version of you. Not the you that's here and now, in the world we live in." His eyes were sympathetic, gentle. "You're probably going to see other selves again. Different ones. You can't let yourself get lost in what you might have been, if things had gone differently."

"Oh," he replied as a blank look washed over his face. He wasn't entirely sure how to feel or think about that. "So I'm not gay then?" Oops. "I-I I mean. Not that Al?"
PostPosted: Wed Mar 12, 2014 3:03 pm

Jordan's eyebrows lifted. "You're not that Al," he answered. "You still have your basic traits and personality in common with him, or the memory wouldn't feel so much like yourself, but you're not the same person. How much you have in common with him and what that is - well, I can't tell you that, since I don't read minds."

He froze up until Jordan stopped speaking and then seemed to go limp with a loud exaggerated exhaling sound effect. He drew a deep breath and then was off. "Okay so; that me had a boyfriend that he really really liked. I remember those feelings and things they did sorta but only problem IS. He's a real person who's my real best friend and he remembers it too and now everything is really really weird between us and I really do not know what to do or feel or if I'm even allowed to think about any of it." Deep breath.
