Austin stayed pretty close to Alura, watching her out of the corner of his eye. She had seemed a bit different these days, and he wasn't sure why. He was very protective of her, running off any strangers that might happen too close to their home.
He always felt so happy near her, and was very glad they had found each other again. In his heart, he thought that maybe he had found true love in her.

The past months spent with Austin had served to tame Alura's more flirtatious side. Where once she had sworn she would never settle down, she had now found herself second guessing that mindset. She was always close to Austin when they were foals, but now they were considerably closer.
She had noticed how protective he had become. She found it absolutely charming and adorable. No. Somewhere in the back of her mind she had already decided to stay with him.
Now that she had news to share with him, it only made her even more sure of her feelings, and what she wanted.

Austin had taken a walk around the perimeter of their home, to check for any intruders. Happy that they were safe and no threats were near, he went back to Alura, smiling as she came into view. It seemed he was always smiling these days because he was so happy to be with her.
"Hello love," he said as he approached. "How's my lovely lady today?" He had left before she had woke, so he was happy to see her awake now.

"Well rested, that's for certain." She smiled, laughing. It was unusual for her to sleep in under normal circumstances, but her circumstances were hardly normal. She couldn't stop smiling, she was positively glowing.

"That's great news. I'm so glad." He looked at her, noticing she seemed so happy. "What's got you in such a good mood love?" he asked, walking over to her and nuzzling her cheek with his nose.

She returned the affectionate gesture, unable to stop smiling. "Well, when we found one another again, we decided to stick together, and get to know one another again. It didn't take long for that old friendship to rekindle, and turn into something more." She nuzzled his cheek again. "Then we started to talk about starting a little herd of our own... or, well, a family and..." Her smile grew even bigger. She was definitely glowing. "Well, love, you're going to be a father!"

He blinked at her, his mouth fell open. "What!? Are you serious?" he exclaimed, his open mouth turning to a huge grin. "We're having foals!!"
Austin nuzzled her again, so happy to hear the news. He placed a gentle kiss on her cheek. "I'm so happy we found each other, and with this news, I couldn't be happier."Nemesis Valkyrie OOC: Perhaps fast forward to baskets next? ...Fast Forward to Baskets Arrive...

Alura smiled, watching over their baskets. She waited patiently, though some days it was hard, for the foals to emerge. As she watched, she couldn't help but wonder what they would be like. No doubt they would be a perfect mix of both herself and Austin, yet uniquely themselves.
Still, she also had the worry of any first time parent. She looked back at Austin. "We are ready for this... right..?"

Austin stood over her, staring down at the baskets. He leaned down to nuzzle against Alura. "Oh of course we're ready. You will be a wonderful mother, nurturing and kind. And I'll be the protective father who never allows the children to leave my sight." he chuckled at his joke. "We'll be fine dear. Don't worry about that."
He waited a few seconds. "You know what this means though right? It means that we must let my parents know of the birth of our foals. Mother will want to be here to take care of us; you me and the foals. And you know how she is. Telling her no is not an option." He chuckled again. "But let's wait a few days before spreading the good news." He smiled and nuzzled against her again.

She nuzzled back. Having Austin there beside her was enough to calm her fears. Though, what first time parent didn't have such fears? It was normal. "I know." She smiled. "Though, honestly, I'm looking forward to your mother's visit." With her own mother being gone, she was more than open to any and all advice Chayse could provide on motherhood.

"Well then, should I go and tell her sooner than later?" he asked. He didn't really want to leave her side now, but he was also really eager to tell his mother and father the wonderful news.
Nemesis Valkyrie I was thinking we could end this one soon and maybe start another where Chayse does come to spend time with them?

She smiled, and couldn't help but laugh at Austin's enthusiasm. He was so close to his family, and it was one of the many things she loved so much about him. "Go ahead and tell them now, Love. We'll be just fine."

"I'll go first thing tomorrow," he said, and nuzzled her cheek, leaving a kiss as he pulled away. "I couldn't imagine spending the night away from you after our wonderful little bundles of joy have arrived."
