Name: Silas Bright Nickname: He doesn't mind if you call him Sy/Si. Or Sy-Bry, for that matter. Age: 21 Birthday: September 19th Sign: Virgo Gemstone: Sapphire Blood Type: A Fav. Food: Meeeeeeaaaaat. Mostly savory things, but he might indulge in sweets every now and then (...which is more often than it sounds like). Hated Food: Not very much. He's a bit of a "closet" (that is, very poorly closeted) glutton. Excessively saucy or soupy things might get the thumbs down, though. School: Destiny City University Hobbies:Fencing (Sword Arts) - Silas loves swords. Loooooves them. He's got a whole collection of swords and sword-related things (action figures holding swords, toy swords, those little sword-shaped toothpicks...) in his room. He started getting into fencing as soon as he was able, and he's done a little with all three types (foil, epee, and sabre). Music - Silas almost never goes anywhere without his trusty MP3 player. Whether he's working on the computer or commuting or doing something else, he's going to want his music on hand. Various types of rock/metal music make up his collection, but there are a few odd outliers here and there. He chiefly listens to music on his lonesome, but he's not above sharing his earbuds with someone else. Solving/Creating Mysteries - Silas has a fondness for mystery novels and creating "cases" for others to solve (think like court trials, with testimonies, evidence, so on and so forth). He seems to be a bit better at writing mysteries than figuring them out, though. Sentai/Toku and related - Silas grew up with the Power Rangers and there's a good chance that there's still some photos of him dressed up as a red power ranger as a kid. He moved on from the Power Rangers to stuff like Kamen Rider; he loooooves the flashy transformations and how hot-blooded everything is. Virtues:Charming - Silas is quite smooth and pleasant to be around. He knows how to turn on his charm, and he particularly likes to do so around the ladies. He can be a bit of a flirt sometimes. Those who become his friends tend to stick around because of his cool charm. He makes it a point to be a gentleman where and when he can (unless he's goofing off, but that's beside the point) and he's got a good sense of humor (or, at the very least, he can be entertaining). Mediator - Silas is remarkably good at giving objective, clear-cut statements about things, and has a natural tendency towards being the "straight man" in absurd situations that he hasn't joined in on. Because of these tendencies, people tend to come to him for help settling disputes and making decisions. He doesn't just deploy a solution and then leave everyone to flail around with it; rather, he will pursue a particular "case" until the issue is resolved. Caring - Silas cares deeply about those he becomes attached to. Sometimes, he might even be a bit overly solicitous (though that leads to a flaw of his; see below). Generally, he'll consistently ask about a person's status ("How are you doing/feeling?") and be affectionate towards them if it's appropriate (he can get a little touchy-feely). The people he considers his friends have someone loyal on their side who will attend to their needs and help them out where he can. He wants his friends to be happy, and to be happy with his friends. His friends have a staunch ally in him; he's one of those guy who can say "I fight for my friends" and mean it. Flaws:Melodramatic - When Silas's mood takes a turn for the worse, he can exaggerate problems and make them seem like catastrophes. That's no pebble rippling his puddle- it's got to be a massive boulder. It takes a lot to tip Silas's mood over, but when what happens, he's going to make a big deal about it. He's going to be over-emphatically surly and pessimistic and try to take others down with him while he's in these sorts of huffs. Blunt - Silas is truthful to a fault. Yes, he's very good at directing people towards solutions, but in that process, he's going to point out any elephants in the room he can find if they're obstructing people's abilities to resolve a situation. It's not so unusual for him to say, "I'm sorry, but you really need to bring this up to so-and-so because it's the source of the problems between you" or "You really need to talk to so and so about X issue if you ever want this problem solved." You could infer that he's not exactly afraid of confrontation, whether it's involving himself or urging others to confront their demons. Overly Attached - Silas cares. He cares a lot. Sometimes, he cares way too much. He might continue being friendly to a person and worrying about them long after they've more or less told him they want him to buzz off. This should not be taken as a failure to consider another person's reactions and language (bodily or otherwise), as he'll openly acknowledge that the other person doesn't want his concern; rather, Silas just finds himself getting very entwined with and attached to people he likes. You could almost say he falls in love with his friends to a degree. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Eyes: Grey and narrow. Hair: Jet black, and pulled back in a ponytail like Simon Blackquill's. If possible, I'd like you to keep the length and volume. However, Silas does NOT have Simon's white patch. Face: His face starts out a bit squarish but becomes a bit more angled towards the chin. Clothes: He's a DCU student. I thought they had uniforms, but in case I'm getting things mixed up and they don't: something like Apollo Justice's outfit would work. At least, the vest + suit pants combo. That's what I want more than anything. And, of course, it probably shouldn't be red. Black, probably.

Knight Title: Glitnir, Page of Mars
Challenge: Justice GET!
Uniform:
Top -- Grey sleeveless shirt. On top of that, something I can only describe as an "action toga." A toga good for fighting in, I guess (if that's even possible). Bottoms -- Plain pants. Gloves -- Leather gauntlets? Belt -- Let's just go with a plain but wide belt (possibly with the Mars symbol on it?) for now. Shoes -- High leather boots. Shoulders -- I want shoulderpads of some sort but if they look totally naff with the toga, you can nix them (or maybe the artist should show me first). Accessories -- Can't think of any... Weapon -- Scales, like the "Scales of Justice." Info below:
Page Weapon: A simple-looking "scales of justice"-style scale that appears to be made of brass. It has a chain that Glitnir can hold/swing it by. Magic: None.
Squire Weapon: The scale from before has become silvery and more ornate. Magic: When weight is applied to one side of the scale (most likely Glitnir pushing on it with his finger), all enemies within 8 feet feel their major sins come to the forefront of their minds. If the target doesn't consider themselves to have sinned, they just gain a strong feeling in their minds that they have done something wrong and be unable to identify what it is (they might as well have left the oven on before they left the house). The air seems to grow "heavy" to them, and a feeling of pressure slows them down. The time pool for this magic is 35 seconds.
Knight Weapon: The scale is now golden, and it might possibly have some gems on it to make it look super-fancy. Magic: When the weight balance on one side of the scale is suddenly and drastically upset (as by a heavy object or Glitnir pushing down on it), a force bears down on all enemies within 10 feet, knocking them down. They can, of course, get right back up, though the standard pressure magic will kick in after the knockdown and may make getting up a bit sluggish. The knockdown has a 15-second cooldown (15 seconds of magic use, not just 15 seconds passing) after each use (unless the time pool runs out before the next use would be available). The pressure magic from before is still present, but is even stronger. The thoughts of the sins/feeling of having done something wrong may become distracting, and the pressure is stronger, slowing enemies down more. The time pool for this magic is 55 seconds.
The predominant color should be red, but I'd like gold trim. Maybe the artist could show me a few coloring variations, though, in case all the red is a bit overwhelming?

Hi Sami! I am here to get Silas all stamped up so you can play him<3 p.s., recommendation for the future -- if you acquire a character you have waiting in the non-slot thread, pop 'em over to the acquired thread and you'll get a crit much quicker!
ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE:
For Silas's "Caring" virtue, can you possibly elaborate a little on how it's beneficial? As you have it written it mentions him being overly solicitious, which sounds a little flaw-y, without really elaborating on how it runs in the positive direction beyond "he cares about people."
Also, the "Mediator" virtue seems like two things in one? The first part talks about his level head, but then you mention him being blunt -- I feel like I'm missing a connection here? Is he one to speak the truth without reservation (which feels like something a little different from being good at resolving conflicts)?
All his flaws, right now, seem mostly situational to him being in a bad mood, and that doesn't really work - flaws should apply most or all of the time, and be more general negative aspects of his personality.
ON THE POWERED SIDE:
First, I'm sorry, but full-on armor of any kind isn't going to work for a Page, and the outfit you're describing sohuld be Page stage - that's reserved for full Knights :< I also admit I'm not quite seeing the Spartan visual themes of Mars -- he seems more generically Knight-y than properly Mars-y.
As for his weapon/magic -- I need a more specific progression! Please list his Page/Squire/Knight weapons and the associated magic so I can see exactly what it does, the same way you would do Senshi attacks!
Quote me if you have any questions or once you've made changes and I'll give him another look<3

Whoops! For some reason, I thought the acquired characters thread was for premades or contest-won characters or something. Anyway, I... think I fixed things? Either that or I broke them more. The knight stuff was fairly easy to fix once I threw out the armor, though I'm a little unsure about the powers I picked for Squire and Knight (at the very least, their time durations will probably have to be cut down, but I'm not sure by how much). As for the civ side, I collapsed the former flaws Surly and Melancholy into Melodramatic and replaced them with Blunt (taken from his Mediator section) and Overly Attached. I tried to patch Caring and Mediator up but I... feel like I missed something, particularly with Caring. Also it feels like something's not adding up correctly, but I can't put my finger on what might possibly be contradictory. I'd appreciate any help you could give me on this matter. Thank you!

Actually, I think your changes on the civ side look great!
I also think his weapon works out great, but simplifying the kinda wordy description you have would be helpful for ease of reading XD;;
If I may suggest a format:
Page Weapon: Magic:
Squire Weapon: Magic:
Knight Weapon: Magic:
Or somersetting like that, for ease of reading? (I honestly wish we had a specific breakdown on the form the way we do for Senshi, but ALAS, SUCH IS)
As to his magic -- yes, the times will definitely have to be cut, sorry! :C A pool of 30-40 seocnds at Squire and 45-60 seconds at Knight is more acceptable c:
I'd also need a more clear connection to Mars's themes of "war, judgement, spirit." I'm thinking you're going for "judgement" here, which is cool, but making it directly about feeling weighed down by their sins or some similar mumbo-jumbo is basically what I need c:

Okay, this is much easier to read c:
However, the radii you have for his attacks is far too big - I'd suggest 8 feet for Squire and 10 at Knight?
Also, for his Knight magic - are they being held down for the whole duration of his channeling? If so, I think that's a bit OP! However, if it's more that they get knocked over when she starts and can then get back up/then the rest of the effects apply, that's fine!
Also, one fiddly detail question - what if a character considers him/herself "sinless"? So, they don't see anything wrong with whatever bad things they've done? For instance, a character like Bischofite who kills without remorse, or like Penthesilea who believes her bad acts are justified?

Whoops! Yeah, they were always supposed to be able to get right back up. How about now?

The parameters look perfect, but one more thing - knight magic does not work on a "number of uses!" Glitnir can turn it on and off as many times as he likes until he uses up the full 55 seconds of his magic.

I thought I did the time pool thing... oh, if you're referring to the Knight-level knockdown, I was just putting in a limiter so that people wouldn't look and go "HE CAN KEEP KNOCKING US DOWN? OP." I'll take that out if it's messing things up, though.

Well! A possibility is that there's a time cooldown between the knockback effects - even if he turns his magic immediately on and off,t he knockback wouldn't happen for x seconds (maybe ten?)

This looks good to me! The only thing I can think is to include a link to the wonder just to make sure everything checks out (In this case I am pretty sure the wonder is this Glitnir) but otherwise, everything looks good! He seems like an interesting character, so I can't wait to see him played! Have fun! <3
