▂▃▅▆█Firebrand Hands shoved deep into his pockets, a young man strolls along the street with a clearly irritated look on his face. He was still rather mad about his entire life being uprooted from his beloved city, especially when the result was being dropped into the tiny excuse for a town. What was all this Veil nonsense anyway? His parents had explained to him at a young age why he could put on personal fireworks displays, but he still didn't quite get why everyone had to hide. His family had been fine being surrounded by humans, so what was the big deal? Heaving a long sigh, he took a small jump to perch atop the short stone wall surrounding a small flower garden. Balancing with his arms out, he spins to look at he way he had come. He'd stormed out of their new house for a nice walk, and the sun was already beginning its decent from the sky. He had to admit, the house was a nice change from the apartment, but he still wasn't pleased. Sure, he'd get used to it, but he sure didn't have to like it.

Jaclyn Jaclyn walked down the street as she look at each shop. She wanted to find some clothes that would help her fit in at her new school. There was more places and styles to chose from, but she didn't know where to start. The girl looked over each store front carefully. After a while she ended up hitting the shoulder of someone. "Sorry." She mumbled.

▂▃▅▆█Firebrand Knocked slightly off balance by the interference by an unseen individual, he took a wide step in the opposite direction. Half expecting to see his adopted brother, or perhaps his sisters, here to scold him, he was almost surprised to find an unfamiliar face. "Oh. Don't worry about it." he swallowed the snarky comment that bubbled to his lips, seeing a young girl to be the culprit. Well, maybe that wasn't an accurate statement; would young woman be more appropriate? It was always hard for him to tell what was appropriate with teenagers, or at least he assumed she was a teenager. Not much younger than himself, most likely, if he was judging by appearance alone. "But maybe you should keep an eye on where you're going, yeah?" he couldn't say nothing on the matter, he had spent too much time with the rudeness of the city to simply let it go. His accent was thick, clearly marking him as someone who didn't grow up in the town, something he assumed most people here had. That was the thing about small towns, he'd heard; everyone knew everyone, and they never really left.

Artie Hopper "I'm still not used to this place yet, probably will still be a while till I am..." Muttered a young brown haired male as he sat down at a more isolated bench, his backpack beside him. He had just moved to Janhall City from his hometown quite a distance away, arriving just yesterday, and spending today to explore the town the best he could. This included finding restaurants, shopping centers, grocery stores, appliance store, and the electronics shop. But, he was at a disadvantage in doing all this as he had a fear of women, so he generally dreaded having to go out unless it was for the grocery store and things of the like. He was glad though to find a somewhat out of place bench that not many would come near, so he could take this chance to rest and relax. The reason such a young man would move would have probably been an action from the parent, but in this case, it was his own choice, or rather he had no choice but to do so. In his hometown he had helped out a person who happened to be female, but unfortunately for him, she had taken quite a bit of interest in him and he found himself occasionally followed by this person and she kept trying to talk to him, though he would run away every time in fear. But, now that he was in a completely different city, he felt a bit more safe, thinking that she wouldn't actually follow him to this far off, and out of the way city. He stretched a bit as he took out a bottle of water from his backpack and drank a bit from it as he sat there on the bench.

♋☢As young as she appeared, there was no questioning the air of confidence that seemed to surround Lily. She knew her true age, but that was never a reason for her to act more mature; the self proclaimed goddess always preferred to play along with her looks. The small town she had chosen to spend the past week in was lovely, truly an example of a talented city planner. It was too bad would need to wipe it off the map, eventually. They tried to experiment here, which she couldn't stand to even think of. How could any place actually try to force poor little humans to live with poor frightening monsters? It was a mess. Letting out a sigh, she continued to walk through the streets, snatching up flowers and random items at her leisure. What did it matter if she had no money? Lily was a goddess to be worshipped.
Her trek continued throughout several streets, her body going wherever her gaze fell. Several hours passed like this, and nothing made her pause for more than a few minutes...except a boy. Eyes widening with surprise, she practically ran nearer to the bench he sat on, realizing immediately who he was. Well, how could she destroy the town now? Artie was here. It wouldn't make any sense to risk harming him. Watching him retrieve a water bottle, she took the opportunity of his distraction to slide onto the bench, sitting directly beside him as she practically sang, "Artie~" Grinning, she leaned back, smart enough to avoid actually touching him as she continued to speak excitedly, "I am so surprised to see you here. It really is fate because I didn't even follow you to this little town! How amazing that this is the one time I'm not looking for you, but here you are!" Anyone walking by would just assume she was some love-struck high school girl. No one would ever guess the might of her power or the true reasons she said what she did.

Artie Hopper Artie had taken a bit of a breather from drinking his water, though he still felt thirst and took another drink of it, completely failing to notice the girl who had snuck up on him and slid onto the bench beside him. Her presence was made known rather quickly as she called his name in a sing-song voice before she spoke excitedly. That whole time she spoke, Artie had frozen up with the bottle in his mouth which he slowly lowered before stiffly turning his head to look at Lily, only to have his fears come true. She had managed to find him again, was this really fate, he wondered, if so, he did not like it. "H-Hello a-again..L-Lilly..." He stuttered politely in reply as he closed his water bottle and put it away before looking at her again stiffly. He really wanted to run right now, but he had a bad feeling that'd she'd just follow, so he needed to wait for the right excuse so he could just excuse himself and escape. It also didn't help him that this girl had this strange ability to summon the undead that had the same skills they had when they were alive.

♋☢Completely ignoring the stiffness of Artie's body language and tone, she kept talking. "Oh! You're so much more polite than the last time I saw you!" She flashed him a smile, her tone dripping with pleasantness as she added, "You haven't tried to run off yet~ I'm so pleased!" Pushing a strand of hair from her face, she examined the street from where she sat. A few people milled around, and a couple of teenagers were clearing ditching school by the way they snuck around the corner. Crossing on leg over the other, she leaned back, clearly getting comfortable. A few more moments passed in her silence, only broken when she noticed a creature walk by. The stranger was a man with wings, so she immediately assumed he was an angel. The sight was not new, but the fact that he was walking beside an obvious human was concerning. "Artie..." she began softly, her tone shifting ever so slightly in the word. "Why are you here, in this horrible town? It's so...disgusting." There was confusion coloring her voice, her expression changing as she turned to face the boy. "You can't possibly be supporting this whole mess about the Veil." There was no question in her statement, just a dangerous accusation.

Artie Hopper Artie was still rather tense as he heard the cheerfulness in her tone of voice when she commented that he didn't run away this time and how pleased she was. "Y-Y-Yeah... I-I-I was just r-really busy t-those t-t-times.." He lied in return, not wanting to mention his fear of women as he had no idea how she would react or possibly take advantage of him. For all he knew, if she had known about it, she may start barging into his life too often. He had been looking to the ground, not really thinking about his surroundings as he tried to come up with an excuse. He tensed up even more when she called out his name again and stiffly looked at her again, "Y-Yes?" He stuttered in reply, trying to hide the fear in his voice. He blinked a bit when she started talking about the town, saying it was disgusting and questioned whether he supported this whole thing with the Veil. "W-Well.. I-I'm n-n-not supporting it, b-b-but I'm a-also not against i-it... A-After a-all... M-My dad i-is just a r-regular h-h-human without a-any a-abilities and m-magic..." He replied his honest thoughts about the matter. For him, he had bigger worries like his fear of women and how to get out of this current predicament, but he couldn't think of any excuse at the moment because she had really caught him off guard by suddenly showing up at his side again.

♋☢Brushing off Artie's excuses with a wave of her hand, she focused on what was on her mind: The town's stupid little experiment. As he stuttered, she grew more upset by the thought of his betrayal, but quickly calmed down when he said he was not supporting the movement. Her features relaxed into her normal innocent expression, although her eyes still held a hint of skepticism when he spoke of his human father. "Awe, you poor confused dear." she said, giving Artie the benefit of her doubt. "The Veil protects your father. Keeps him away from seeing the scary things in the dark. You wouldn't want your daddy to get hurt, would you?" She frowned, jutting out her lower lip in a pout as she tried to get him to understand why the Veil was needed. It was all a matter of safety and plain old common sense. When humans mixed with monsters both sides did terrible things. It was just better to remain separate. Granted, this town seemed ridiculously determined to do the opposite, and she would smite every last denizen if she had to. "Oh, silly little Artie!" she exclaimed, jumping up as she giggled. He was such a funny boy, it was probably the main reason she enjoyed his company so much. "Don't worry though, I'll take care of this stupid town. I sent out one of my souls last night to send a message." The "soul," of course, was a member of her undead, always prepared to follow her orders with no will of their own. Granted, her message had been destroyed, but he served his purpose, and now she knew where a certain item was. "I suppose I should follow up on his work..." she trailed off, still standing as she remembered that her opportunity to retrieve a rare magical item was fleeting.

Iced Cherry Latte OOC: You better not let him leave :U Artie Hopper Artie only tilted his head a bit about the comment she made about his dad and the Veil. "My d-dad is the k-kind of person who's a-able to f-find water in t-the middle of a desert during a long and hot d-drought." He replied bluntly from experience. Unlike him, his father was the kind of person who could somehow make friends and communicate with people in a foreign country, he was that sociable. He tensed up a bit more when she mentioned something about taking care of the town and how she sent one of her undead servants to send some sort of message. Hearing her next comment, he saw this as a chance to escape, "W-W-Well, s-since you're b-busy, I-I should let y-you be so you c-can d-do your follow up!" He said quickly with a nervous laugh as he got up and picked up his backpack. "M-M-Maybe we'll m-meet again w-when you're not b-busy." He added quickly, though he honestly hoped that wouldn't happen, and would do his best to avoid that kind of situation.

Jaclyn relaxed a bit. She thought that there was no one kind in this town save for the girl that she had met at school. This place was bigger than her home town and that made her nervous. Then he made the second comment and the girl's hopes fell. He didn't sound nice at all anymore. "Excuse me." She said. her voice cracked ever so slightly. Just enough that the person who didn't know her may have thought that it was just a glitch in her voice. The woman left in a hurry. She hoped she could find somewhere quiet that she could just let it all out. Jaclyn hated it here. This was not her home. Why did her parents have to move to such a terrible place? Why couldn't they still live in her home town? She wished to just leave. This wasn't home and she had no friends.

♋☢Completely ignoring the description Artie gave of his father, Lily focused on what she thought of actually important. The town was just so irritating, and she'd rectify that soon. Raising a brow as her companion jumped up to leave, she paused for a short second before bursting into laughter. "Oh my! You are just so adorable!" She latched onto his arm, her words continuing to roll over any protesting. "Really, your manners are just delightful now! But don't worry love, you can come along with me. After all, if I destroy the town today, I don't want you to get caught up in the mess." She flashed a smile, her face completely devoid of any evil despite the obvious cruelty in everything she said. "Come on now~"

Iced Cherry Latte OOC: Yay~ biggrin Also isn't it supposed to be "your manners" and not "you're manners"? :p Artie Hopper Artie tensed up quite a lot when he heard her become silent for a moment before she burst out laughing, making him having a cold sweat as she called him adorable. She complimented his manners as she suddenly latched onto his arm, "Ah.. N-No..." He tried to protest but she had talked over his attempts at protests and apparently she was much stronger than she looked because he couldn't even pull away from her. "N-No no.. I-I-I w-w-would only b-be in the way..!" He tried to explain his way out with more excuses with a stutter in his voice. He was completely terrified as it really started to show on his face, though she may associate that look on his face with shyness along with what he had said. "S-S-So, y-yeah... J-J-Just l-let me g-go..." He asked in his trembling voice as he made another failed attempt to get his arm free from her grip, knowing that this person was going to endanger his chastity.

♋☢ Raising a brow to his protests, she fell silent, evaluating him. Her smile turned into a smirk while her expression grew more serious. Her tone was lower, lending itself to the dark aura beginning to surround her. "Artie~" she began, responding to his suggestions with an obvious sense of warning. "I know you wouldn't disobey me. You know what I can do..." as if to punctuate her statement, she lowered one hand, the ground just beneath the bench shaking slightly. A few moments passed before she became impatient, and suddenly the ground gave a lurch and a hand of only bones rose from the dirt under the bench. As more of the arm appeared, the being broke through the wooden slates of the bench, and she returned her gaze to the boy. "This being will be free in less than a minute. At that time, I will unleash him upon the town and begin my destruction now." Lily paused, letting her words sink in before finishing with a second option, "Or you will come with me and I'll begin my work later."
