The screen goes black for about thirty seconds, before two white words fade into the middle of the screen:
PART TWO
Those words fade away, and are quickly replaced by three more words in white:
LATER THAT NIGHT...
The words fade away, and the camera fades back into the same setup inside of the Dark Carnival tent as last week, but this time, a different person strapped to a gurney is being wheeled out of the middle of the dirt floor, toward the ramp. The person is screaming and trying to lift his hands to grasp his face and neck, which seems to be in the process of being burned away by acid. He is unable to, however, as his arms are attached to the sides of the gurney by metal handcuffs. The camera pans over to the other side of the middle ring, to a young woman, around 25 years old. She walks from the middle of the ring over to the bleachers, wipes tears from her eyes, and drops a glass that presumably contained the acid that burned the man a few moments ago. She gets over to the bleachers and takes her seat next to a little girl, around her early teens, and hugs her close as they both smile a bit and begin to tear up again.
The Ringmaster walks through the curtain and back down the ramp as the small crowd cheers the return of the face and voice of the Dark Carnival. He walks past the gurney being wheeled by the wicked clowns, and doesn't look at the man. He gets to the middle of the floor and throws his hands in the air.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! Yet another person has received his judgment! This man kidnapped these two young ladies' brother and threw acid in his face, leaving him physically impaired and in enough pain where he ended his life at the young age of 17... Maybe once we give him access to a gun, he too can finally end his life, and take his place down in Hell's Pit. But until then, he'll suffer just as their brother suffered."
The Ringmaster begins to pace the outside of the circle of bleachers, planting his cane into the ground with every step.
"So with this part of the show, I'm going to give you a bit more insight into the Dark Carnival. You see, many people watching the video of tonight, that this gentleman has so kindly broken our rules to provide to the people..."
The Ringmaster points his cane at the camera while continuing to pace.
"...Are likely going to wonder what motivates the Dark Carnival, and what rules we abide by. Why do we do what we do? Why am I here providing judgment to these 'poor souls'? Well, let me say that The Wraith has plans for each and every soul on this Earth. His plan for me? Well, he plans to use my tongue and my body as it's vessel to show each and every person the true way. The ONLY way. To convince the world to follow the Dark Carnival, and allow each and every person their chance to reach Shangri-La.
I am here to help provide judgment on each and every evil soul on Earth, for only the truly good souls can receive their judgment directly from The Wraith. If you have wronged, I am here to provide those you have wronged the chance to give you their judgment. You've seen that tonight, with the first four judgments. The first, Johnny Jameson, was stabbed to death by the father of one of the children he murdered. The next two were cleared by their judges and now sit among you as the first few followers of the Dark Carnival. And as you just saw, this man has been judged as guilty, and his punishment was to feel the same pain as the one he wronged.
Now that a little bit of explaining has been done…”
The Ringmaster walks to the middle of the ring and throws his hands into the air once more. Out of his right hand rises a fireball, and the crowd ooh’s as it rises and goes out quickly.
“…On to the next Judgment!!!”
The spotlight goes from The Ringmaster up to the top of the ramp as the wicked court jesters wheel out another person, this time a woman, strapped to a gurney. She struggles against the straps, but it is to no avail. As the clowns wheel her down to the ring circus floor, The Ringmaster goes over her crimes.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have our first female defendant tonight! Miss Claretta Hall… Accused of seducing women’s spouses, and then murdering them when they finally came over to finish the job. Only two men she attempted to murder survived to tell the tail. Her judge tonight is the last man whose life she attempted to take. Sir, step up and give your judgment.”
A man in blue jeans and a black t-shirt stands up and begins to walk over to The Ringmaster. The Ringmaster produces a knife from his pocket and offers it to the man. He looks down at it, taking his time to think. Finally, the man looks up at the woman, and then back to The Ringmaster. He shakes his head and begins to speak.
“I judge her guilty, but her sentence reduced to life in prison. Turn her over to the authorities.”
The Ringmaster looks a bit miffed, but then turns to speak to the crowd. He puts the knife back where he pulled it out from, and begins to speak.
“You heard it ladies and gentlemen… Guilty, with a redu-“
~BANG!~
The crowd screams in shock, as the camera goes crazy looking for the source of the gunshot. It finally focuses back on the woman attached to the gurney, and she is slumped over, blood dripping from her head, with the only things keeping her upright being the leather straps attaching her arms and legs to the gurney. The camera turns, to find The Ringmaster walking toward the bleachers. A man stands in the middle, as the crowd parts to get away from him, holding the ‘smoking gun’. He finally gets to the man and the camera focuses on his face, with tears streaming down from his eyes.
The Ringmaster steps up to the same step as him and puts his hand on the man’s shoulder, trying to calm him.
“May I introduce to you people, the SECOND to last man to survive Claretta Hall’s attempt on his life… Unfortunately for you, sir, Miss Hall was already judged, and her sentence was already brought upon her… And without Miss Hall here to judge you for your actions, it looks like I must be the one to judge you. It’s okay sir… Shh… Shh… Dry your eyes sir.”
The Ringmaster reaches up with the arm that was on the man’s shoulder, and wipes some of the man’s tears away with his thumb. The man begins to breathe a bit, and regain a bit of composure, as The Ringmaster places his hand back on his shoulder.
“Guilty.”
With that, The Ringmaster’s other hand swings around and stabs the hidden knife into the man’s stomach, and he collapses. As soon as the man hits the bleachers, the camera cuts to black.
