F R I E N D S Are precious. Lattice had been arranging things in her shrine; it was an easy and idle task to perform and allowed for her mind to wander for a little bit. The Engraver's mind easily wandered toward the friends she had made during her arrival at the Academy. Friends that were very dear to her heard despite not being with them at all times or visiting with them often. She felt a little bit of a guilty tug at her heart as she realized how solitary she was. Lattice would never be like her Twin, her twin who was considerably more sociable and fearless.
The ghoul picked up a mirror that was handed to her by a young ghoul that had visited her the other day and quietly stared down at the surface, she couldn't make out much about the reflection other than a blur of colors.
She should be a better friend. Did they all know they were dear to her heart? With a small smile she set the mirror back down in its place and resolved to do better by friends.
After all... friendship was a beautiful work of effort, right? 36. Friends

D U L L Do I bore you..? Lattice was trying to entertain her octoeye with a story that she had learned from a book she checked out from the library...
"..And then the monster opened his mouth and swallowed the prey whole..." Her tone was quiet and monotone as always, no matter how much she tried to change her voice to indicate excitement or interest.
The octoeye yawned and opened a single eye and showed its disinterest by making a strange chirruping sound.
The Engraver paused after a moment and frowned, "Does this mean I am dull?" she asked softly. The ghoul wanted to be more entertaining to her friends and loved ones. A dull needle was no good for tattooing - she could only assume the theory also applied to entertaining others. Lattice didn't feel she was dull in any other aspects except in where she entertained and talked to others.
"Should I try a joke?" She asked the minipet as she quietly picked it up to set it on her lap. The small creature shuddered on its perch signifying that perhaps that was not a good way to brighten her otherwise dull repertoire... 89. Dull

F A I T H Faith in you... It was not rare for Petro to fall asleep in her dorm room, especially now that they have grown so much closer together. Normally Lattice could easily sleep near her dearest Guardian, but tonight she wanted to watch him for just a little while. Her cool fingertips traced a small line over his brow and found that he stirred a little at her touch. Lattice murmured a quiet reassurance to him and soon the boil was settled again.
She didn't have faith in many things in this realm. Her sister was one of the few that Lattice felt was worthy of such regard. Petro had slowly but surely wiggled his place onto the little pedestal just by always being nearby when she needed him. A bit of unease and fear riled up within her chest as she realized how close she had let him become to her.
Lattice didn't allow the feelings to overwhelm her because she had faith in Petro. She had faith that he wouldn't hurt her or leave her stranded, and faith in the fact that he would help her and her Twin get away from the Clan when the time came. Lattice also had faith in herself - that she wouldn't let the Elder make her turn her back on the boil and those she loved. She was determined not to lose anyone...
She had to have faith.
Quietly she settled near her Guardian again and closed her eyes and simply rested. 96. Faith

B U L L Y No treats for you..! Lattice had pulled out her minipets out to give them some treats and to try and teach them tricks. The octoeye was busily trying to get all the treats for itself, bullying the other poor minipets that also wanted treats. The Engraver uttered a quiet sharp word of disapproval and pulled the Octoeye away from the other minipets, "If you cannot behave, then you will be punished."
There was a small pause after she made her threat. The Elder often made such threats to her and her Sister for various infractions - was she also bullying her minipets?
The ghoul frowned a bit and simply tapped the octoeye on the head, "You must behave Tako Yaki. We treat our friends and loved ones with kindness, not harshness. Understand?"
The minipet she spoke to let out a grumpy sounding sort of chirrup and just waited to be set down again so it could sulk for a while. Lattice let out a small breathless sigh as she set the creature down and tried to figure out a better way to discourage the bullying habits of her minipet.
65. Bully

R E W A R D I N G Difficult tasks can be done... She had been working on her current ink painting for the longest time. Lattice found frustration in each brush stroke and scrapped many of her works until she found a technique for what she wanted to accomplish. The vision coming to life before her was a rewarding experience and made her feel utter contentment as she watched it all come together.
Would this be a gift? Perhaps she should be selfish and reward herself by framing this piece and keep it as an accomplishment that she had reached, much like the needles in her arms.
It didn't matter because in the end she was quite happy with what she had done.
Maybe she could turn this artwork into a new tattoo to place upon her own skin. 76. Rewarding
