And the field is....
the Ice Field!
The temperature of the stadium suddenly drops several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifts for the upcoming battle. The floor turns into extremely slick ice which makes maneuverability, even simply standing, difficult. Randomly placed crystal-like pillars reach skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks

Charlotte uncomfortably shuffled into the stadium, sporting a pair of sweatpants instead of her usual shorts. "Uuuugh, these things are chafin' me! Why's it gotta be so cold anyway?! I hope this match isn't too long..."
Mara was sent out onto the field and began drifting along between the icicles. This was a nice place - quiet, serene, and no real dangerous obstacles. She hoped that the upcoming battle wouldn't be too bothersome.

Zak entered the stadium and gave a shiver at the cold. He pulled his scarf over his mouth so that his face would at least be warm. He gave a small wave to his opponent before taking his spot at the trainers box. The trainer knew exactly who he wanted to use, hopefully Sakki's training would come into play in this battle.

Charlotte waved back at Zak. "Hihi! Let's have a good ol' battle! and hopefully a quick one..." she said to her opponent. "Okay, Mara, let's start this off! Toxic!"
A very tiny laugh could be heard as Mara spewed poison sludge all over the field, hoping to weaken her opponent.

Zak released Zeke from his pokeball.
Just as he was released the charamnder quickly dodged the toxic attack by sliding across the ice.
"Alright Zeke, nice dodge now use bite!" He called out.
"Char! Char!" the charmander stated enthusiastically. The shiny charmander then got close to his opponent and jumped up to sink his teeth into the balloon pokemon.

Mara let out a pained squeak as the charmander bit into her flesh. She was able to shake him off, but the pain still lingered.
"Ouch! That's a tough little guy..." Charlotte said. "Well uh, second time is the charm! Try Toxic again!"
Positive that Zeke wouldn't avoid her attack again, Mara spit even more sludge onto the field.

Losing his footing Zeke fell and was hit with the toxic attack. He shook off the sludge however, the poison it left behind affected him. "Char!!" it exclaimed in anger.
"Calm down Zeke. This why we lost our last battle." Zak called out worried to his charmander. "Use bite once more," he called out hoping his pokemon's head was clear enough to obey him.
Using its tail to balance on the ice the charmander slide its way over to the Driftloon and then jumped up to bite it once more.

Mara did a small twirl of victory which was unfortunately cut short by a biting Charmander. He only nipped her claw, but it still stung quite a bit.
"Woohoo! We can do this, girl!" Charlotte shouted. "Use Gust!"
Harnessing all her anger towards her opponent, Mara blew out a powerful gust of wind towards Zeke.

"Stay focused Zeke. You can do it.We got this" he encouraged the charmander. "Hang in there. Once the gust subsides use Bite once more!"
Zeke was trapped inside the gust, taking both damage from the attack and the poison. Once the gust had subsided he lunged at the Ghost type once more sinking his fangs into it.

Mara sneered as she saw Zeke take damage from her attacks, but her expression clearly changed once he jumped up and bit onto her again.
"Man, this is intense," Charlotte said to herself. "You're doing great, though! Use Gust again!"
Channeling her fury, Mara sent another powerful whirlwind towards her opponent.

The poisoning faded. Leaving the Charmander with only the gust to deal with. Exhaustion was taking effect as it was time in time again hit with an attack. Once the Gust faded the Charmander jumped up once more and bit the Driftloon.

Mara felt that sharp pain once again - Zeke had jumped up and bit her before she could even tell what was happening. She let out an annoyed growl as she shook him off - she was getting quite tired of this...
Noticing that her opponent's Pokemon looked a little less exhausted, Charlotte knew that the poison had subsided. She also knew that it would only take one or two more well-timed hits, and Mara would be too tired to float. She decided to try something else. "Mara! Use Thunder Wave!"
The drifloon gathered up the static electricity floating in the air, and send off a mighty debilitating bolt towards Zeke.

The charmander was hit by the attack, little electrical charges bouncing off of his skin.
"Stay strong Zeke, don't lose focus I know you can do it, Bite once more" Zak encouraged his Charmander.
A low growl escaped the charmander as it tried to move, trying to use bite on the ghost pokemon.

Mara let out an eerie laugh as she dodged Zeke, who's movements became more sluggish due to the paralysis.
"Yay! I think things are looking up!" Charlotte said. "Now just keep attacking!"
Flying around the charmander, Mara formed another bitingly harsh gust of wind and directed it towards her opponent.
