User ImageThe young King, gave his guest a young noble lady a kind smile. Her birth caused trouble among many in her previous herd, yet she held no ill will to those who raised her. The leader of her herd and great, grandfather had sought some place for her to live without worry of persecution. Perhaps she would return once the discord calmed but until then the King had assured the other leader to make her as comfortable a possible. The king too had been more than happy to accept, the leader of the Sunflare he greatly respected.

"This way M'lady," he lead the mare toward the boarder where his companion and friend was. He bid the great leader goodbye and brought the mare here "Dinas is patrolling right now, the stallion know's these lands far better than the rest of who have spent still such a short time here." they may not find him quickly if they look but sure enough he always seemed to find them. And Arch wasn't to keen on dragging a lady around that far even inside the boarders of his herd. The herd's territory was still vast.

Coming to a beautiful clearing with white flowers and a soft morning fog he bade for the mare to rest her feet "Sir Dinas will be with us shortly." he assured her "He always seems to be near by." the stallion chuckled.

User ImageDinas emrys was indeed around, he had been watching the white stallion and his companion, he had sent his guard back too, the older stallion sighed. Most leaders did not put such faith in their soldiers. Most leaders were not friends with their soldiers the young king had done his best to befriend all his subjects instead of just ruling. He was certainly and odd one.

With stranger tales when he went off on his own much to his knight's dismay. Tales of a great lady and her companion much larger than most of them was one of the few that put many of the knights into disbelief. Dinas had a suspicion the young king had been indeed telling the truth he had become bound and determined to become stronger after that. He spoke to the stallion privately one day while the young king trained. Though as a friend he openly made fun of how Arch sounded with a quip here and there he still listened

He supposed the king was looking for him now after their talk earlier, and so Dinas made his way toward the clearing.

The deep rose mare followed the king of her new home quietly. Her great-great-grandfather, Ard-Righ Lughnasadh, who had personally escorted here, had politely bowed out. He said it was not to be a third wheel, but Aine suspected it was because her beloved Great-great-grandda was still feeling conflicted about her and the decision to lifemate her to a noble warrior of some other herd. Quite frankly, as much as Aine deeply loved her family and was just as deeply grieved over the death of her Great-granddda Jadon as anyone else, she was also painfully aware of the awkwardness of her presence in the herd. She had actually wanted Great-grandma Sunniva and Grandma Kaede and Solveig-Ma to come with her, but, at the same time, hadn't wanted a long, painful good-bye.

The good news was that Lugh and Arch, the king of this herd, were inclined to be friends and to regularly have get-togethers. So this wasn't good-bye forever. Aine glanced around at her new home. It was greener and prettier than the lands of the Sunflare, which was golden all summer long. Well, golden from about the latter half of spring into autumn, with periodic rains during that time and varying amounts of snow, especially on the heights, in winter. This land seemed gentler, more temperate. Aine liked it already.

She paused in the fog-shrouded clearing fragrant with the delicate scent of the snowy white flowers that bedecked it. She didn't really need to rest her hooves, not when the Sunflare territories were so big and it had taken some time to come to these lands. But she opted to not point it out. Instead, Aine was looking for the stallion she was so far arranged to mate with. She gathered he was a trusted knight under King Achernar. It probably meant some nice armor. Though she yet knew nothing. Her pale eyes searched, waiting for the one she would spend the rest of her life with.

Dinas's light could be seen before he himself emerged, like a will-o-the-wisp moving through the fog Dinas emerged. The stallion moved quickly to the king bowing low. "I am here, My king, you're late" moving in front of Aine and bowed low to the lady that would be his mate. this favour that was asked of him would strengthen the ties between the two herds. He could not refuse "M'lady," he spoke softly, keeping his eye trained on Arch for his reaction.

Arch raised his brow "You never tell me when I am supposed to be," he replied in all seriousness. The king kept a straight ster face for a while trained on the black stallion before finally lighting up and and chuckling. Truly this stallion was an odd one but he was glad of his friend. But in all seriousness Arch had to get back to business.

"Dinas Emerys, this Lady is the sunflare princess Lady Aine, I spoke to you about." Giving a formal introduction. Arch gave a bow to the lady "I will leave you to get acquainted if the lady wishes." he had other duties to attend but he would not neglect Lady Aine if she still wished his presence it was strange for her no doubt.

Dinas gave the king a grin back, Raising his head, crystal blue eyes watched the stallion for a while knew at sight this was the mare but formalities were indeed required. He expected though the young king secretly wanted to find his strange mare once more though he said he had other duties. Dinas knew better

Dinas looked back to Aine "As the Young King said I am Dinas Emerys it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Lady Aine." he spoke as the sun began peaking over the horizon casting it's warm glow over the lands.

Aine was aware of a glowing light suddenly appearing, like a star or a tiny sun bobbing around, before she saw the owner of the bright light. A stallion, dark of coat, but with pale feet and a tail tipped white. An armored head, neck, and shoulders, betraying little of the Star beneath while displaying celestial symbols. Feather, tassels, and cloth finishing out his appearance. Definitely a knight, even if he wasn't covered head-to-hoof in armor. Not surprising, really.

What was surprising was when he bowed to her. Aine. The awkward princess who didn't belong anywhere. She listened to their conversation, as much out of politeness as out of the fact that she wasn't always comfortable communicating with those who weren't Great-great-grandda Lughnasadh, Great-grandma Sunniva, or Grandma Kaede. She recovered herself in time to bob a quick bow of her own...and almost froze when King Archerner referred to her as "princess" and bowed to her as a king to a visiting princess.

Aine, a princess? Well, yes, technically, as a descendant of Lugh, she qualified, and Lugh didn't have very many great-great-grandchildren. Probably just her and her brother, the latter of whom was heir apparent to the Shadow, insofar as anyone in the Sunflare knew, which technically made her a Shadow princess, too. But the less said about that particular claim to a throne, the better.

When he turned to greet her and bow, Aine flushed. They spoiled her, and she wasn't sure how to respond for a moment, still flustered by the honor and compliments paid her. "The pleasure is mine, Sir Dinas Emerys," she finally said shyly.

Dinas smiled gently at her trying not to make her any more flustered. "What do you think of our home Lady Aine?" he asked her it was different than her own. Dinas had heard that her own home was more like a flat plain with seaside cliffs. Aine seemed like a kind mare. A shame things had become so sour she could not remain with her family. It was clear they cared very much for her, after all they sent her here. "If I may, m'lady" he said offering her a flower he'd carefully plucked.

"Lady Aine, you may call me simply Emerys if that is more to your liking." perhaps something less formal would help her feel more comfortable. Emerys could see the light of the sun begin to chase the shadows. "...mhmm." He glanced north east. "Do you like the sunrise M'lady?"

A thin morning fog still coated the ground.

Aine smiled. "It's a beautiful land, Sir--Emerys," she quickly amended, flushing and accepting the flower. "The lands of the Sunflare are hotter in summer, filled with rolling golden hills bordering the sea. Except for the first half of spring, there are not so many flowers as there are here. I like it."

Turning to follow his gaze, she squinted slightly, instinctively, but then stopped. It was unnecessary, due to the depth of the woods here. "I suppose so. I may come to like the sunrise more, as it's less fierce here. I will say that I love the flowers in spring," she said more confidently. "Even at the height of the wildflower season, there are never enough flowers back home."

The morning fog, with so dense a shield from the sun as the trees would and could provide, was likely to not burn away for another hour yet at least.

"I am pleased to hear you find it as lovely as I do" He gave her a slight smile "It is alright Lady Aine" he said unbothered by her continued use of formality. Emerys flushed a bit himself when she accepted. It was harder to tell on him with a dark coat. He wasn't used to this sort of thing. he could stand before an army or a dragon but this was.. a bit unsettling even for him. He knew his duty was to make the mare feel at home so he listened quietly to her standing at her side.

He gave her a silent nod of acknowledgement as he listened. they must have a very brilliant sunrise over there, He'd meant to speak more to Sir Gawain when he'd returned the last time but. She still seemed to miss her home which was understandable considering the Circumstances. "There are many lovely places like this within Llyn Dinas." he told her. he knew much about the secrets of the land. "If you would like to see more? though it doesn't have the same charm as your own home I'm Sure."

Aine smiled, sad for a brief moment. Quite brief. The Stars here had nothing to do with her past. She needed to believe right now in a new future.

She inhaled very softly.

Late summer flowers were her reward. Flowers they'd never get at home. Flowers of a new world, divorced from the old.

"Thank you, Emerys, for your courteous offer. I would most certainly enjoy seeing more of Llyn Dinas." She smiled, a fragile apple blossom of an expression. "I'm sure it doesn't share the same charms as home, but I feel that these hills have their own special charm, and it is quite a wonderful charm."

This wasn't home, but, with the Stars she'd met so far, including her future mate, and the beautiful gentility of the landscape, Aine was sure that this would become her home one day soon.
