He stood, still as can be so not to scare away his prey. It was hard to stay like that and his muscles felt like they were cramping. The light breeze caused the leaf to tickle his nose. Shifting slowly, his nose was removed from the tickling leaf. It seems like days that he had been like this. It was great camouflage, as his brown coloring made it appear as if he was really part of the barks around. Blue eyes blinking amongst the green foliage around his face, it could of made him miss something. His nose was still itching from that branch's leaves. Brown ears twitched at the sound of the water being touched. It wasn't what he was after, at least he didn't think so, but all that he could see were the ripples from whatever it was. The urge to move and find out what made the ripples, was almost to much. His front paw actually lifted from the ground, ready to move out of hiding.

Sylvieanne bit back a giggle. She tilted softly to and fro her ears softly trying to pick up any sound from the male hunter. She watched as the branch slowly moved to his nose, the leaf just in the right spot to hit his nose. Then she stared as he slowly moved away. She glared slightly and twitched her nose. Almost imperceptibly the branch moved back into place. Hearing a noise, she turned her head to see what it was, and saw a doe standing near the stream drinking her fill. She looked back in time to see that the hunters paw had lifted in his urge to see what his "prey" was doing. Little did he know that in this game of cat and mouse, he was the mouse.

Yiska gave a soft sigh. His paw settling back into the dirt as he slowly moves out of the bush. It was unnerving not being able to see what caused the ripples. It had to be what he was following and waiting for, but what if it goes the other way. He had to see.
Moving quietly the brown male goes to see what is at the water. A wide grin split on his face. A doe, so maybe he could get her. Scenting the air, he couldn't smell the doe, which caused problems for him. Hunting alone, never a good thing to be downwind of the prey. He wished he had someone to help with this hunt.

Sylvieanne watched as the hunter moved away from her tickling branch. The trees made a noise like a soft sigh- a sussuration of noise throught the forest as her toy stepped away. Or had he? She tilted her head from her high perch in the forest Canopy and watched as he scented the air.
Tilting her head to the other side she watched an inhaled, knowing he scented the doe. But she was too far above for him to smell her- and she doubted his senses would be keen enough anyways..... SO how to proceed.....to show her hand early, or play the waiting game. She did not want this doe to be injured.......
With another soft sigh that the tree's again echoed she sent a soft warning to the doe, the trees creaking ominously. And then she laughed, a soft chiming sound, that the wind makes as the branches overhead clack together like wind chimes and dapple the forest floor in sunlight. Here she paused, waiting to see if the hunter would catch her hint, or still persist after the doe.

A low groan escaped his jaw. His ears swiveled trying to figure out who or what caused the trees to creak that way. "Who is there?" It didn't bother him this time that the doe probably heard him and took off, but he needed to know what was there.
His tail flicked, letting the dream catcher shift as he searched for what was near the trees. He didn't think to look up, so his blue eyes stayed towards the ground.

Catching the low groan she smiled, It was music to her ears, and then he spoke, and she was startled by his voice. It pulled at something inside her, something nameless and formless and old as time. She shivered and the sun was briefly hidden as a cloud passed over its face casting the little area of forest into darkness.
Ah to toy some more or reveal herself....perhaps she needed to learn more about this strange hunter cast into her midst. But how to do so without revealing herself. She tipped her head to the left and right as she studied the muscular form, the dream catcher bound tail, and the obsidian dagger strapped to his thigh. This one could be dangerous, best to play it safe.
She waited another moment until the sun was once again out and laughed once more, if laugh it can be called, perhaps giggle more acurately describes the sound- the teasing beckoning that oft begins a courtship. The trees shifted, the canopy parting a shaft of light hitting the ground in the center of the grove of trees, almost like a beacon saying " Here, Come stand here".
It was as clear a signal as she could give without revealing herself fully, and she tilted her head waiting the next move in the game.

The laugh, or giggle, caused his head to snap around to find who it belonged to. The sun seemed to shine just right, making him a bit blind to what lurked in the shadows. "So, I get to be in full view. Yet I don't get to see a hair of you?"
He walked around the light the shaft of light, not wanting to be fully seen. Not that the shadows probably helped him at all. Even his dagger shone a like a beacon to say he was there. The giggle sounded like it came from above, yet he stay looking towards the lower reaches. "Well, here I am."

Waiting....watching....and then he moved.....and stalked about the beam of light and he was....breathtaking. Just the male specimen for the fun she had in mind today.
Oh ho, and he was fiesty too. Well she could play that game.
What do you want, Hunter? *She pitched her voice soft and low, and used her magic to make the tree's leaves pick up her words, making her voice seem to come from all around*

The voice..it came from all over. "I wanted to help feed the family." He looked towards the creek where the doe had been. It looked like the trees were just settling from movement of an animal. "It looks like it has run though." Shrugging he turned to start looking higher. It was starting to become dizzying, but it..she? had to be near. "I am sorry if I was disturbing your area of protection."

Sylvieanne's heart constricted at his words. He had a family. She had felt a calling towards this one, just a hint of one, and well, he was quite breath taking, and ..... She sighed and again the trees echoed her breath, and the beam of sunlight shifted and dissapeared as the canopy closed over it casting the forest into a twilight darkness.
Her voice was filled with regret, sorrow and longing. " Ah, I see. I am sorry to have interfered....." She let her voice trail off as she began to shift back to being part of the tree, to wait, as she always did.

He felt the shift in the air as the trees shifted. Something was wrong. And he didn't know what to do about it. "Wait!" He stepped towards a tree, thinking that the voice was there. "I can bring them something else. My siblings need to learn to hunt better anyways." The last part said with an sigh.
"The forest..It relaxes me, even waiting for time on end. Better than the nagging of siblings wanting more food." He wasn't sure why he was talking about his family, but it seemed like the right thing to do.

Fading into the tree was always like going home, somehow it just felt right. Usually. But this time she was not content to go back to the slow pulse of life she felt, the rustle of leaves, the warmth of the sun shimmering through leaves. Thus her transformation was slower than usual- so she heard him cry out, and she paused.
Could it be true? She heard the words "siblings" and it was as if the band around her heart eased. Enough that she could draw breath to speak. This she whispered.
"Siblings, is that your only Family?"

Looking around to see, to find the one the voice belonged to, Yiska nodded. "Well, parents too. Though I don't mind helping them out. I am still waiting for the day my sisters find another to hunt for them." Finally figuring the female, as only a female would ask that, wouldn't come out, he sat right there. Waiting for her to show herself now.

Slowly, almost imperceptibly the twilight began to lift, and with it Sylvieanne's heart as he spoke.
"You speak of a love for the forest....and a clear love for you family......I have taken away your chance at meat for this eve, what would you have of me in compensation?"

He blinked as the darkness lightened, squinting a bit til his eyes felt fully adjusted. "Yes I do love the forest. It gives and takes."
Smiling as he remembered the doe he had waited on for hours, Yiska shrugged. "There are other, smaller game that I can possibly bring to them. The least you can do, is show yourself."
