Name: John Nahuel Rae

Nickname: John Jr, Stretch, Sticky

Age: 15

Birthday: November 23

Sign: Sagitarrius

Gemstone: turquoise

Blood Type: o+

Fav. Food: strawberry ice cream

Hated Food: eggs

School: Meadowview High School

Hobbies:

sports - Mr. Rae hasn't been able to provide as much for his children as he would like, but if there's one thing he's confident in, it's his coaching ability. Thanks to his father, John Jr was all but born wielding a baseball bat. He grew up learning the ins and outs of his father's favourite game, and is a veritable machine on the baseball field. Short-stop. Third-baseman. Back-catcher. You name it, John Jr can play it. And he can play it well.

Don't tell Mr. Rae, but John Jr's heart no longer belongs solely to baseball. He has a particular fondness for basketball, after getting into it with some of the guys at the park downtown, and aspires to one day break into the MBA. Whether or not he's actually that good remains to be seen.

Naturally athletic and fun-loving, John Jr would tell you there's almost no sport he wouldn't try. Except for maybe fencing, because why would anybody bother with a skinny stick like that when they could swing a broadsword? He doesn't know.

video games - All of the time John Jr spends playing and talking about sports leaves little room for him to do a lot of something else when he's not at school. But the Raes are proud owners of an original Nintendo Entertainment System, which John Jr and Vanessa play religiously every Christmas and Easter on their grandfather's old box TV.

John Jr has also recently inherited an old ps2 from his cousin Mark. Instead of doing homework on Saturdays and Sundays he plays things like "WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain" and "Tokyo Xtreme Racer: 3"

wannabe rap star - If somehow John Jr magically fails to make it in the MBA, his fall back plan is a distinguished career in rap music. He's got a knack for writing bad lyrics, and has an absolute blast with his buddies trying to match them to music.

Virtues:

happy-go-lucky -- Bright-eyed and optimistic, John Jr is easily contented, without much of an inclination to complain about anything. His is a silly, unbothered soul. While young and growing up poor, John Jr has lacked for almost nothing in his life of the things that count. His glass is always half-full.

adventurous -- Energetic and naturally curious, John Jr's enthusiasm for trying out new sports extends to other areas of his life. Competitive like his sister, driven by an innocent compulsion to know more about the world, John Jr is a veritable 'Yes!' man. As long as it has potentional for fun (and especially if he gets to show off) without being too girly, John Jr will do it first. And he will do it better than everyone else.

honest -- Why tell a lie when you never do anything wrong? John Jr is afraid he doesn't have an answer. More seriously, though, John Jr simply doesn't have it in him to be dishonest. He's a good kid. The sort who sincerely believed Santa would stuff his stocking full of coal if he misbehaved too often, and who did his absolute best to ensure that he'd be getting a brand new hockey stick instead.

Flaws:

devil-may-care -- While bright-eyed and cheerful, John Jr's inherent knack for looking at the world through rose tinted glasses can be more of an impedement than a boon. He is crippled by his positivity, and struggles to recognize serious situations for being serious until it's too late. He is chronically late for appointments, and never hands in his homework on time. If life is a game, John Jr plays on easy mode.

overconfident/show off -- After a lifetime of being coddled and praised by his father and older sister, John Jr has an overinflated sense of his own worth. He's arrogant and conceited, and believes himself to be more special than he really is. The kind of kid who'd try to give Neo a run for his money without first being unplugged from the Matrix.

shallow -- With John Jr what you see is what you get. He doesn't pretend to be anything other than what he is, and extends this oversimplified understanding of himself onto the people that he meets. He makes snap judgments based on superficial criteria, and is unapologetic for it. "If it looks like a b***h and it sounds like a b***h," John Jr says, "it's probably a b***h."

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Knight Title: Syrtis, Page of Mars

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrtis_Major_Planum

Challenge:

Uniform: mars colours. to be used at the artist's discretion.

for reference over all: x, x, x

Top -- Can he go shirtless? Kinda like this: x
Bottoms -- Sort of shorts, but not really. It's more of a loincloth than anything.
Gloves -- none. leather/cloth wrist greaves would be great.
Belt -- a big, thick one please. WWE size.
Shoes -- roman/gladiator sandals-- x
Shoulders -- x, x
Accessories -- belts are cool 8D. He has little gold hoops in his ears, too. click
Weapon --

as a Page:
Stone (or wooden?) discus. x, x

once he goes Squire:

Weapon -- Syrtis' discus has grown into a hoplite shield!
Power: Syrtis' magic works to give him a buff of strength. Wielding his shield, calling on the power of his wonder, Syrtis becomes a sort of wall, capable of sustaining an exceptional amount of damage and blocking a physical attack-- he is the embodiment of a hoplite phalanx, and a little army unto himself. Not invincible by any means. Just really tough. The pool he draws from lasts 30 seconds.

one he goes Knight:

Weapon --Syrtis' shield is bigger, and badder, and shinier-- x
Power: The Hoplite Phalanx upgraded! Syrtis actually becomes a miniature army, multiplying like an amoeba into a total of three bodies to establish himself as a larger, stronger barrier-- capable, also, of standing up against more damage because the force of an opposing attack is divided between all three of his selves. These extra selves manifest on either side of Syrtis. They do not think for themselves, and mirror his actions. The pool he draws from lasts 45 seconds.

Hey Gee! Many sorries for taking so long to get to you :C

Congrats on your customs win -- let's get John Jr. all ready to be played!

ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE:

I honestly think his civ side looks great! He seems like a fun character to play, and it'll be interesting to see how the war affects his rose-colored view of the world! No comments here c:

ON THE POWERED SIDE:

I really need to see a three-stage progression for his Knight weapon -- perhaps a small wooden discus, turning into a stone one and then a metal one? Something like that?

Also, his magic as it is doesn't work within Knight magic rules, sorry! Knight magic follows particular themes - Mars's are war, judgment, and spirit - and must be drawn from a "pool" of a set number of seconds. In essence, Knights can turn their magic on and off, but must be in contact with their weapon to cast it and have a limited amount of time to draw from. Generally I see 30 to 45 seconds at Squire and 45 seconds to a minute at Knight, depending on exactly what the magic does?

As well, I'd need to see magic progression -- what changes in his magic when he reaches the Knight stage?

Quote me once you've made changes or if you have any questions!<3

I think the magic looks good; however I do need a pool for how long he can cast for -- if I may suggest, 30 seconds at Squire and 45 at Knight?

Hey, Gee!

This profile looks pretty good, so I only have on small question about his Knight magic! When he multiplies, are the copies of himself incapable of free thought/do they just mimic his actions? If they literally just copy his every move and don't have any thinking/free will then this is totally fine and I can drop off a stamp, but I just wanted to make sure!

Yeah they just mirror his actions, and stand at his sides - - more like extra limbs than anything else. smile
