He'd made his way out this far without a problem, and not so much as a whisper had followed him. He was sad, but also happy to be free of them. Sadly, this would mean no magical fizzy drinks, but he had come out here to think. Voices were of no help when one needed to do hard thinking. The burly male yawned as loudly as he could, his roar bellowing across the plain. Birds scattered from nearby trees, their irritated voices cawing at him in protest. He winced in apology, before finally allowing his legs to stretch out before him. Ohhhhh how he loved to stretch away the day's sorrows and troubles. Today hadn't been such a good day in the world of mixology. He'd made a few mistakes, and lost a few of his mane hairs in the process. But hey, at least he had a cool new look! The singed bits of his bangs would be a reminder that those two herbs were never to be mixed again. At least .. they would until they grew back. Then he would likely make the same mistake again. Barij could feel his eyes growing heavy as his mind began to drift, his ears were slowly tuning out the world around him. And soon all he could hear were his own thoughts. There was nothing to see, no birds to apologize to, and most of all nothing to worry about. For all intents and purposes he was but an immovable statue lying still in the savanna for whatever mayhem came his way.

Pari'Sartaj had decided to take some time outside the Pridelands and find herself. There was just only so much normal she could take before it became suffocating to a young lioness. She felt like she was just one of a bunch of clones. Everyone did the same things the same way, and yeah, things were peaceful and quiet and great for raising cubs. But this did not help a single lioness that wanted to do something exciting and figure out herself. She wanted to find a male, and do all that denning down stuff too. How could she do that type of thing if she had not lived and gotten the whole excitement lust out of her system? Pari sighed to herself and jumped at a sound not too far off. Was that a roar? She was not sure, but she followed the direction of it to see what was going on anyway. If her father could wander around in the roguelands and never have a problem, then she certainly shouldn't have a problem with one lion that sounded half in pain. As the lioness padded forward, she found herself looking off at a rather brightly colored lion. He might not be the same colors as her father, but he certainly reminded her of him with how his coat was so much brighter than most she saw in the Pridelands. Pari certainly liked the look of him already. She got closer, stopped, and waited to be noticed. The male did not move and she cocked her head to the side to study him. He seemed zoned out, almost like a statue. He did not appear hurt or anything, so that was positive. She wondered if he was sick, and when no sign of anything wrong could be seen, she decided she would have some fun. He looked snuggly, so she walked over, slide up half under and between his front paws and snuggled him. He was warm and pleasant.

How long had he been out of it this time?! The sun was near the same location in the sky, if not just a tad higher. So perhaps a few hours? All he wanted to do was get up and stretch, oohhhh how great stretching felt after being so solid and statuesque for so long. But there was added weight on him, and it wasn't his own. Now that he thought about it, his chest was awful warm, and a bit fluffier than usual too! Was he dreaming? Had he managed to fall asleep during one of his phases? A sharp n** to his tongue told him that, no he was indeed wide awake. Well so much for that theory. Well then, what exactly what holding him down? Did he dare actually look? It could be a den of snakes! A chill ran down his spine at the prospect and he wanted to run for his life! Only he couldn't, something was still weighing him down awful hard. Okay ... he was going to look ... on the count of three.. one .... two .... hecouldn'tdothis. It was snakes. He knew it was snakes. But then it moved under him, and he realized - snakes ... aren't fuzzy or al that comfortable to be around. Whatever this was, made a lovely pillow. OK he could do this. Mustering all of his courage the male slowly allowed his eyes to glance down and into his lap. Where he found the most unexpected sight. A female?! B--But where had she come from!? The poor male was so flustered he began to hyperventilate. He had no idea where she'd come from, or even if she was alive! She'd moved, but did that really mean she was alive?! DID ZOMBIES EXIST!? WERE THEY REAL!? OR WAS SHE A GHOST?! OH GODS HOW HAD SHE GOTTEN HERE?! Still taking heavy breaths, Barij knew of nothing else to do. So with a clueless look his face he gently nudged to creature in his lap with his free paw. Careful not to get to close, as though she might bite at a moment's notice.

Pari watched the male out of the corner of a slitted eye the moment his breathing changed. She realized she was very close and could be harmed easily if he was not a nice sort, but she got the feeling from his rather hurried breathing that he likely was terrified. It made her feel rather bad when he looked at her and started looking ready to faint. She let him poke her and opened her eyes, looking up at him, cutely. "Yes, handsome?" Play it cool, maybe he would calm down instead of freaking out on her. Pari really hoped she had not made this male angry. It has just been too tempting not to snuggle up to him and steal his warmth while he was zoned out. She did her best to look as cute and harmless as possible while he watched her warily. He looked like he wanted to bolt and she did not want to make any sudden moves and scare him. He had been a really nice pillow, and she gave a little yawn, wondering if he might consider being a pillow longer. It was not likely, she was sure, but it would be nice if he did.

The words slipped from her mouth so easily, as though they had been waiting there this whole time. Barij could only stare in a stupor at the female laying in his lap. He still had no idea how she'd gotten there, and he knew that was the question he wanted the most answer to. But he couldn't exactly voice the question at the moment! She seemed so calm in his lap, as though she belonged there. Did she belong there? That was a ridiculous question, it was his lap! Of course she didn't belong there! Blinking blankly at the female, he cocked his head to the side at her words. "My lap...He managed to mumble, only after he looked away from her. His paws quivering from the very idea of speaking with a lady. "can't move them..." The set of words was much less pronounced than the first, and with good reason. As much as he was startled by the female's presence in his lap. He wasn't quite sure if he was ready to make her get up just yet.

Pari slowly got up and moved out of the male's lap. She gave him a playful smile, trying to get rid of the tension. "Of course it is your lap, I will let you have it back. It was quite comfortable." She gave him a bright, impish smile. She had been accused a few times of being too impishly cute for her own good. The way his paws were quivering, she really hoped that was not out of fear of HER. She hated to think that she was anything but a gentle lioness, perhaps a bit of a cub at times, but not mean by any stretch. Pari cocked her head to the side so that she could give the male a coy look. "I am sorry that I pinned you down so much. I guess I should know better than to snuggle a handsome male like you so well. You probably have a much prettier lioness than I waiting for you somewhere." She was really just trying to be playful and make him laugh a bit. He did not seem the type to have a mate to her, at least not yet. Something about him struck her as bachelor, probably the lack of female scent on him for one.

The rush of blood back to his paws as the female stood was enough to make the male a little light headed, but he didn't show it. At least, not anymore than he already was. He did however notice, that when she stood she placed herself directly in his line of vision. If he weren't already a bright pink his cheeks surely would have given him away. Yet he quickly averted his vision so as not to meet eyes with her. "Thank you ...'" He mumbled as he tried to take notice of some strange rock formation in the far off background. But if was far less interesting than the beautiful lioness before him. Right about now, he could really use some of his fizzy drink! It would surely calm him down, maybe even make him disappear this time! But he could only dream, because he had purposely left his stash at home. Tucked safely in his den, where not even those pesky cubs could find it. "N-not really." He mumbled in response to her remark. Feeling a strange curling of his lip as he replied top her. "youcanliebackdownifyoulike"He hurriedly rushed the words as he turned his glance back to the female and tried to offer her the smile he knew she wanted. But he just couldn't look at her face ater saying those words! He felt so ridiculous! "Sorry! That was silly... silly silly..'"

Pari blushed a bit and looked up, letting the coy look drop. She had not expected that answer! "You would let me snuggle you more? Really?" Her eyes sparkled happily. Maybe this mission to do something exciting had been the fates' way of getting her to meet this male. It was certainly going much better than one would have thought possible for a first meeting that she had done something so unthinkable. "I would like that. I am Pari'Sartaj. I am sorry I startled you so much." The lioness stretched and reached over to nuzzle him gently. "It was not silly at all if you liked having me close. I would like to think I am pretty enough and enjoyable company." Pari hoped he would look at her again. He seemed really shy and while it was cute, he didn't need to be afraid of looking at her. Okay so she had been a little creepy with how she had just crawled in his lap, but he had not run away so he obviously was not completely creeped out over what she did. Or maybe he was just too scared to move? That was not a good line of thought.
