Zel fought desperately with the book he was carrying, trying to maintain the better number of his fingers from being devoured by its constant snapping. He had forgotten how ill-mannered the book was, and was rethinking his original intent of lending it to Lute. That wouldn't be fair to the poor ghoul, she didn't deserve to have her poor tiny hands eaten! As he stumbled off the bus, he realized in short order that he was not where he needed to be. Instead he was in front of the Ghoul and Chef - a place he'd heard of and had yet to go into. His father had taken his mother there for their 2500th Anniversary and they still talked about it to this day. He wasn't hurting for cash - quite flush of it right now having just gotten his allowance. It was also dry to the point that he felt like he was in the middle of a dry, hollow wasteland. Stepping inside the restaurant for a moment, he wondered what the odds were of him bumming a glass of water without having to spend a small fortune - but he doubted he'd be able to pull it off - but it was nice to be out of the dry atmosphere for a time. He then again set about wrestling with his book - not wanting to be bitten anymore if he could help it.

On a sigh he jumped from the bus and yawned. Rubbing one eye the kitsune peered around, frowning when realizing his surroundings were not what they should have been. He had ended up taking the wrong bus in his sleepy state, which while would show him to pay more attention next time left him blinking around in confusion. Hoping to get a map of the side of Halloween he was in the boil wandered around until finding a place to go inside.
Ghoul and Chef?
He repeated the name mentally than panted, the dry air getting to him. It was odd weather but beyond that thought the kit didn't give much more. Pushing into the door Tavi gazed around, hoping the fancy decor didn't mean the place wouldn't help him. Resting in the cool air of the restaurant it wasn't long before he caught sight of a familiar face. Zel? What was he doing here? Curiously the kitsune peeked around the other boil, wondering if he was on a date but when no company seemed to be attached to the other Tavi pranced over.
"ZEL!" He shouted before slapping a hand over his own mouth when the hostess of the place gave him a glare that could turn you to stone. Scooting over closer he beamed to the boil, a curious look given to his book. "What'cha doin?" He whispered out between his fingers, eyes grinning.

Zel jumped, dropping the book with a loud thud and stomping on it as Tavi approached. Oh Jack... This is not what I need right now... Zel's mind began to spin up as he tried to think of something he could say to deflect Tavi away from digging too much into his other relationships - knowing Tavi he'd get the wrong idea... Oh well, at least he isn't Lute. He thought with a small sigh of relief. "Hey Tavi," He chuckles weakly, waving feebly to the hostess before dropping down and picking up the book, tying it's flapping pages closed with the leather strap built into the book itself after a few moments of wrestling with it. "I was on my way back to the dorm when I got on the wrong bus... I was running some errands and realized that I needed a new book to read so I snagged the one cause it was on sale - now I see why," he said, laughing weakly as he shoved the book under one arm. "I was debating on seeing if I could get a drink here but I think it's too rich for even my blood - even if I am flush for cash at the moment... Why don't we find someplace more to our niche and catch up - it's been too long..." He said, walking over and draping his free arm around the smaller boil, leading him toward the door even as the hostess tried to lacerate him to ribbons with her eyes.

Tavi's head cocked to the side as Zel's book hit the floor and started to snap. His tails also flared up to get out of the way of the pages, head tilting to the opposite side. It was alive huh? Not the most unusual thing he'd seen of course, but it wasn't often he'd crossed books that actually bit outside of being sucking long. When Zel spoke, he couldn't help but latch on to when the wrong bus bit was mentioned. Grinning wide since it amused him that his friend had done the same thing too, he gave a twirl and hum.
Giggling now at the other boil, he nodded before replying with a sigh, "yeah yeah? Me too, un... and I think ya might have gotten ripped off buddy." He eyes the book again as Zel ties it up, might have been a sale but could someone really read that? Vicious little thing!
His ears flickered and a glance was spared to the hostess before turning back towards his friend. "Mhm! I agree, it's stuffy in here...um..but...maybe, ywm, spotting me?" Tavi blushed, his ears flattening as he patted his pockets and admitted, "I didn't bring any seeds with me today.." Though he didn't bother explaining why that was, since it would be embarrassing to admit he was scoping out good, 'sight seeing' locations for him and a certain boil.
Snuggling into Zel's side easily when the other guided him out the door, his hand rested on the larger boils lower back, since at his height it was what he could reach. Once back out into the dry weather the kitsune panted, then as if getting hit by a train remember he was suddenly upset with the other demon. Pouting his lips he quirked his head up to peer in a semi-heated manner up to the other, but still kept the close distance, "SAY! Where'ya been anyways? I was worried yanno, that's ttly not cool."

Zel chuckled softly once they were outside, he wouldn't mind spotting Tavi if they found someplace that wasn't too bad. It was the least he could do for vanishing off the face of Halloween. "I've been studying, spending most of my time in the library as of late," he said, clearing his throat and looking down apologetically at Tavi. His hand moved out on instinct and he ruffled the other boil's hair, making cure to rub gently around his ears as he did so in a bid to calm him down. "You could have texted me you know - I did have my phone," He said, reminding himself to text Lute and let her know he had a new book for her - even if it was a bit grumpy. "You know, you could have knocked on my door too - I'm in my room when I'm not at the library... So what have you been up to that's kept you from investigating my absence?" He said, a light smirk forming on his lips as he ruffled his hair up even more. "Did you get sidetracked by a short skirt and a long pair of legs?"

Studying? Was that all, he couldn't help but wonder but easily accepted the answer and the apologetic look the other flashed to him. Mostly because as he continued to talk, Tavi realized what a bad friend he had been too. He hadn't really searched out Zel, BUT he did notice the absence wasn't that good for something? Shaking his head the kitsune winced slightly before grabbing Zel by the arm and grinning brightly.
"Sorry bout that! I'll do better next time ok!? BUT You too got it?" Frowning he wagged a finger on his free hand before blushing. He hadn't been distracted by excatly that but at the moment he would feel awkward if he mentioned it was another friend. Since he didn't want Zel to feel like he was bottom priority as a friend he simply shook his head, ears laying flat.
"NAA! I was super uber mega, busy with planning some minipets club things!" To further this point his hands flew up to the sky, a gesture to show how big it was. "Ah hey look!" He pointed ahead of them to a small little cafe, one that had a special of pumpkin spice spookies today. "PUMPKIN SPICE SPOOOKIES! CAN WE GO!? CAN WEEE!?" He all but turned to beg the other boil, tails flaring out behind him in a fanning motion with his excitement.

Zel laughed and shook his head, then nodded slowly. "Yeah, yeah, I'll text you or something if I'm going to be buried under an avalanche of books."He frowned, remembering that he really should text Lute and let her know he probably wasn't going to be at the library today and have her go ahead and read without him - he decided he'd do so once Tavi was properly distracted, he didn't want to whip out his phone and text her and have it intercepted by Tavi and have him think the wrong thing. When the kitsune started begging about the spookies though, Zel wondered for a moment if this was what having a younger sibling was like. Laughing again he nods and starts to move toward the cafe. "Yeah sure - looks like a nice enough place to get out of this damn dryness." He said with a smile. "Then you can tell me about your huge minipet club things."

"Make sure to do so gi?" He frowned at the other but only for a moment before Zel's laughter caught to him and in turn had him chuckling along. It wasn't fair how contagious laughter was some times he pouted inwardly before getting a hopeful look towards the cafe. As Zel agreed he rushed forward, pulling the door open and holding it for Zel.
"Hurry hurry! Let's get a booth!" Dancing on his tip-toes he waited for the other to pass inside before entering, nodding along in agreement to the talk about his club. As they entered the air conditioner was well welcomed by the kit, a loud sigh in fact leaving his lips for the relief.
Eyeing the bathrooms as they stood in the entrance way Tavi decided it would be better to go wash up first, and maybe he had to use the bathroom too. On that note he turned to Zel and gave a cheekily little grin. "BRB! Find us a seat ok, I'll find you when I get out!" With that he motioned towards the bathrooms before trotting off, all smiles in his delighted mood.

Zel laughed and nodded to the Kitsune, waving him off when he went to rush off to the bathroom. Whatever he needed to do was his business - he had other things to worry about. He found them a booth quickly and he pulled out his phone, bringing up Lute's contact he started to enter a quick text. Hey, I'm not gonna make it to the library today, got grabbed by another friend of mine. Feel free to read ahead if you want - I'll catch up later. Oh, I got you a book too - but you're gonna have to tame it before you can read it I think... Anyway, let's meet at the usual time tomorrow. Sorry about today! - ZelHe sent it off before relaxing into his bench in the booth, waiting for Tavi to finish his business.

After a quick freshen up in the bathroom he was bouncing towards the booth Zel had picked out for them. In going admiring the delicious smells that were flowing out of the double doors of the kitchen with each waiter. The place might have been a little mom and pop but it was clean and friendly, just what he liked. Trotting over towards Zel the kitsune pushed into his side of the booth and grinned, noticing the phone on his way over and wondering about whom he was talking to.
As soon as their orders were in Tavi cut loose, letting Zel know everything about anything and expecting the same in return from his friend as they ate. It was good to catch up, especially since they both had missed so much time with one another.
